It's weird to think that my favorite day of college ball in years includes a Bama loss, but yesterday was amazing in just about every way.

While growing up I lived for decades with mediocre-to-awful teams. I considered any Pac-8 season record above .500 to be a triumph. Consequently, I reflexively root for the underdog, with few exceptions and I feel happiest when the traditional powerhouse programs, like Alabama, USC or Oklahoma, get the rug pulled out from under them.

Mentally add Ohio State to that list of most-hated teams, plz.

Refs can always call something. They typically try to avoid determining the game winner for us, though.
