i'm guessing you were right before and those imdb nerds just 1. see a lot of movies 2. act like the pop culture authorities they consider themselves to be which means acting like an expert on tom hanks minutiae

I enjoyed her performance in The Unknown Girl, and was pleased when I recognised her wonderfully sulky mouth again in BPM.

recently become obsessed with the work of Teresa Wright (Shadow of a Doubt, The Best Years of Our Lives, The Pride of the Yankees), trying to see as many of her movies as possible. always great even in total shit like Casanova Brown. I have the Donald Spoto bio, waiting to read further until i see more of her work, but as I understand she was essentially blackballed after very publicly removing herself from a lousy contract (circa 1950). a few lesser known movies that she's great in:

Pursued (1947) - a Western with heat stroke. Robert Mitchum stars alongside TW, who is his love interest & step sister... hallucinatory in parts, but mostly a drag, cool-ish curio though, even if TW isn't in it enough.
The Men (1950) - Marlon Brando's screen debut. OK movie, short, worth checking out for that novelty & TW.
Something to Live For (1952) - Such a strange movie. Ostensibly about AA, but not really - Ray Milland is a louse, cheats on his wife (TW), and is never punished/reprimanded for it. TW never finds out.
The Steel Trap (1952) - Joseph Cotten and TW reunite 9 years after Shadow of a Doubt. another very strange movie, weirdly clinical/procedural, worth watching though. TW is blonde, afaik only time she changed her hair color for a role.
