This came out I few years ago but I didn't hear it until this summer. Seriously obsessed with Beru and this record in particular.

EZ who is this Bludded Head ur always goin on about in FB? Would they work in this thread?

Neil Yup (Drugs A. Money), Monday, 17 November 2014 20:15 (nine years ago) link

Bludded Head are basically a metal band at their core. They incorporate noise and some other stuff but the roots are Harvey Milk, Corrupted, etc.

But here's a link to a song on bandcamp so you can check it out:

Richard Dawson is p much one of my favourite working musical entities in the world and has been for the last 18-24 months maybe. he is also a v nice person ime. really glad he is getting more and more opportunities to do his thing in front of more people.

if you happen to see a review of his new album as published by a weekly UK music paper of note, please don't bother reading it as it's been edited to make its writer sound lukewarm on the album, and intimidated by its scary weirdness. FUCK EDITORS

two weeks pass...

I have been listening to Ariel Kalmo's wonderful Osmose album a lot recently after a track came up on shuffle and knocked me sideways, it is an amazing album. RVNG Intl have just released a comp covering his 40 yr career so I def need to check that out.

Kind of been enjoying this lot on Constellation called Avec Le Soleil Sortant De Sa Bouche who do a similar hypnotic afrokraut thing to Goat but without all the dressing-up shenanigans:

Oh, I think I've heard one of their songs before? I like the music on this, but not so keen on the vocals. It's a vox technique I think I could get on with in other circumstances, it just takes me out of the immersive krauty continuum with this one.

yeah, i get that. he sounds like he's auditioning for magma on that song

sosmix klopp (NickB), Wednesday, 3 December 2014 14:01 (nine years ago) link

or maybe it's the guy from circle he's reminding me of?

sosmix klopp (NickB), Wednesday, 3 December 2014 14:02 (nine years ago) link

Hm, yeah, I was thinking along proggy comparison lines, so could be Magma?

So, the guys in Italian weirdo jazz metal band Zu have made an ambient music and poetry sort of thing with Eugene Robinson of Oxbow. I'm liking it a lot so far.

five months pass...

Are we not doing this this year?

Anyhow, here's a cool powernoise-crust punk thing from a guy who has been touring as guitarist for ST 37. I haven't listened to the whole thing but it sounds great so far, could very well be my favorite noise thingy since the dog demo. Edward III or Hellhouse, if you're out there...
