Yeah, Songs might be my least-favorite of his peak-era records, but I found myself freaking out to songs I didn't think I liked ("Contusion," for one).

Chicago set was predominately bug-free. A couple mic upcuts but on the order of seconds, not minutes (or whole songs).

Oh, was out of town and missed last time. Want to go this time. Saw hhim once before in the 80s or 90s? I forget...but he was good of course

Wonder if they're doing this again re ticket sales:

A quick search of a citi bank card code will allow you to buy them today. I have my pair and I can't wait!

curmudgeon, Tuesday, 20 January 2015 15:20 (nine years ago) link

There was a separate presale last time where the code was posted on his Facebook page...maybe they'll do that again?

curmudgeon, Tuesday, 20 January 2015 15:40 (nine years ago) link

Not seeing the FB code for some reason?

Vulvacura (Eric H.), Tuesday, 20 January 2015 15:44 (nine years ago) link

I see it, [Key], but ticketmaster is requiring first 6 digits of a Citicard today

curmudgeon, Tuesday, 20 January 2015 15:47 (nine years ago) link

I'll just take my chances with the FB key tomorrow morning.

actual Citi Card might still be needed

curmudgeon, Tuesday, 20 January 2015 17:01 (nine years ago) link

yeah, not understanding how you can get tickets with just a citi code. you still need a citi card for the purchase. i can confirm because it happened to me for the oakland 'songs in the key of life tour' back in december. i ended up having to borrow a friend's citi card to complete the transaction.

friend of mine did sound at his Oakland show. I was jealous.

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 20 January 2015 17:44 (nine years ago) link

I did get the Citi code to work with a Visa payment last October, so ... ?

Vulvacura (Eric H.), Tuesday, 20 January 2015 18:52 (nine years ago) link

Facebook works today. Citi code still does not for Baltimore without a Citicard

curmudgeon, Wednesday, 21 January 2015 17:53 (nine years ago) link

Got Mpls to do the Citi code without any problems, even using a Visa.

I'm seeing him tomorrow. Will see how it compares

curmudgeon, Thursday, 9 April 2015 00:32 (nine years ago) link

Fun show in Baltimore last night. Not as many guests as Nashville, just a string section from Baltimore and Frederick Yonnet, a harmonica playing neo-soul local. Stevie loves to talk and joke and frequently took breaks between songs to do so. Songs in the Key of Life material sounded great. Somewhere in the middle, Stevie switched over to a small mini lap steel looking thing though and did Curtis Mayfield's "People Get Ready" with India.Arie joining him on vocals. Then he grinned and went into "Tequila" from that. Unusual but still entertaining. His backup vocalists (including Ethiopian-American singer Wayna) are great. More powerful than India.Arie.

curmudgeon, Friday, 10 April 2015 14:02 (nine years ago) link

He started about 8:35 pm, took a 20 minute break in the middle and finished about 11:45pm

curmudgeon, Friday, 10 April 2015 14:04 (nine years ago) link

If someone had asked me, "What songs would you least expect to hear at a Stevie Wonder concert?" "Tequila" and "Nashville Cats" would be #1 and #2, respectively.
