2004, but it was a four track 12", i presume the other tracks were unreleased - been difficult/expensive to buy for ages, didnt realize it had had a digital release (Whats a Girl To Do is the track thats made it difficult to buy)

D1 was a good label for a while, the bombjack 12" is a huge personal fav

did breaker 1 2 get posted last year? i heard a clip of it around when it came out, forgot about it, and just came back to it again and am really digging it.

Yeah it's not been a great year on the house/techno front but there has been some decent stuff. I've really liked the Joey Anderson, Gesloten Cirkel, Kassem Mosse and Objekt albums. The Livity Sound remix tracks were sick. Omar S put out some quality material. All Caps and Dixon Avenue Basement Jams did Glsgow proud

you know it hasn't been the best year but i still think we're in a minor golden age for proper house / techno!

i think there's overall less bobbins i like lately, but the ones i do like i really like a lot, and idk if i've changed or house and techno has changed, but it doesn't feel as tied to any particular trends, there seems to be a lot of different bubbles existing simultaneously that mix in nice and unexpected ways. me and house/techno are in a good place right now

I didnt mean to do a state-of-the-nation post, I think things are always changing, and experiences are not the same anyhow. Ive heard a huge amount of great music this year, as usual no idea what most of it is or when its from, but the records i have bought have just mostly ended up not being 2014 releases, but some of them were. Theres so many great records out there, i dont mind when they are from

it's probably a sign that I'm out of the loop since it feels like this has been a great year.

um there's a new steffi album ??!??!?!?!!

the steffi album was a slight letdown for me. the first track is like detroit electro and i was hoping for more in that style, but the rest is straightforward classic techno. still pretty nice though.

so if anyone could recommend some recent electro that sounds like this, i'd be grateful.

that fatima yamaha album is amazing, thanks! guess "What's A Girl To Do" is on that Workshop Boiler Room mix, should have investigated earlier based on that.

Not sure I can dismiss this year yet, there's been some great LPs Leon Vynehall, Tin Man, Herbert, Moodymann and plenty of good singles

This year's been like a enjoyable midset roller in between peaks.
