Palin shit was gross

So gross that an adult in politics didn't start a fight at a party

The ways it aligns and differs with kroeger's take is fun, esp "OMG I had said its great to be back to someone, Eddie must have been told and stole it!"

da croupier, Sunday, 22 February 2015 20:01 (nine years ago) link

Also I approve of the anecdotal evidence that bob odenkirk will be called "better call Saul" by clueless passerby now

da croupier, Sunday, 22 February 2015 20:02 (nine years ago) link

Pretty brilliant of her to come up with the phrases "magical evening" and "it felt like high school" I bet no-one at that 40th Anniversary special had thought of those.

©Oz Quiz© (Adam Bruneau), Sunday, 22 February 2015 20:05 (nine years ago) link

Kroeger's "man I wish I tried harder to be memorable when I was on" vs dillon's "my memorable sketches...ignored to praise bass-o-matic!"

da croupier, Sunday, 22 February 2015 20:11 (nine years ago) link

I think the disdain for Doumanian's season is generally overblown, but I don't think Dillon would've lasted more than one season during any SNL era.

Wow, Denny. nagl there

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 22 February 2015 21:44 (nine years ago) link

She's obviously joking?

polyphonic, Sunday, 22 February 2015 21:45 (nine years ago) link

I read it as a riff on Kroeger's piece but maybe I'm wrong

polyphonic, Sunday, 22 February 2015 21:47 (nine years ago) link

Couldn't figure if it was a joke or not, but makes much more sense as such.

Mon-El in the Middle (James Redd and the Blecchs), Sunday, 22 February 2015 21:49 (nine years ago) link

Yeah there were bits that seemed tongue in cheek and others that didn't.

Last couple of eps have been pretty solid, I think. Anyone else see them?

Moynihan as TWO nautically themed insane people was pretty good tonight.

^^^ NOT METAL (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Sunday, 5 April 2015 08:02 (nine years ago) link

I actually thought last night's episode was pretty bad. Just seemed like a couple of skits where people were just weird and wacky. A bit funny but kinda senseless. I'm guessing they're not hoping to get Tom Cruise to host anytime soon.

dan selzer, Sunday, 5 April 2015 15:18 (nine years ago) link

I didn't think it was terrible, but there were quite a few misfires last night. Thank goodness for Jebidiah Atkinson.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 5 April 2015 15:22 (nine years ago) link

I thought it was mostly bad. I did like the college basketball announcers opening, but not much else.

This one was ok. I'm mostly just amazed that I didn't hate the second Florence and the Machine song and almost slightly liked the first one.

Aw, the little Kenan tag at the end reminded me that I'm going to miss him on SNL. ;_;

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 13 May 2015 19:32 (eight years ago) link

Kenan is not leaving, though

Louis C.K. bits on racism and on pedophiles didn't work too well

yeah that set had like one good line and otherwise was just... flat

Is It Any Wonder I'm Not the (President Keyes), Monday, 18 May 2015 00:20 (eight years ago) link

I thought the routine was kind of dumb

curmudgeon, Monday, 18 May 2015 14:41 (eight years ago) link

I liked it but wasn't as "shocking" in light of an Aziz routine from a few years ago on the same topic.

I like Leslie Jones but it's starting to creep me out that all she gets to do on this show is be SCARY OVERSEXED BLACK WOMAN

Οὖτις, Monday, 12 October 2015 21:23 (eight years ago) link

Man, the parts of this week's ep I caught were so, so bad.

The best part by far was Kyle Mooney's brief turn as the Dutch backpack rapper in the city council sketch. Another one of his closely observed character bits that is sure to be appreciated by ~.001% of the audience.

JRN, Monday, 12 October 2015 21:50 (eight years ago) link

The Delta Airlines skit needed an ending but it did make me chuckle.

I Am Curious (Dolezal) (DJP), Monday, 12 October 2015 21:50 (eight years ago) link

Mooney is awesome.

yes dude is underrated

Οὖτις, Monday, 12 October 2015 21:51 (eight years ago) link

Yeah that rapper bit was awesome. His characters don't generally seem to have the simple/loud quality that makes a "classic" SNL character, but that's fine with me.

si monvmentvm reqvires, pvmpkin spice (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Monday, 12 October 2015 21:57 (eight years ago) link

I will say this about Mooney--whenever he's in live sketches, and not playing some weird character, he delivers all his lines with these unnatural stock inflections. He makes everyone sound like sort of a dialed-back version of his hack comedian character Bruce Chandling. It's like the one thing he can't play is a normal person speaking normally.

JRN, Monday, 12 October 2015 22:02 (eight years ago) link

I love him BTW
