oh i'm guessing "the sky was pink (james holden remix)" was disqualified bc it's like 9:59 but still kinda bummed i couldn't vote for it

couldn't plough throw as much of that playlist as i wanted/ intended to. really looking forward to the results, which will provide a more pointed & concise overview of stuff i haven't heard that i need to listen to.

ftr I don't have a single British artist on my ballot, and I am not the least bit apologetic about this

how is that even possible, we invented epic

wait nvm I went back and counted and I have 13 tracks by British artists (vs 22 by Americans). I did however manage to completely overlook the Yes/Floyd/Genesis/Crimson/Tull axis,, and for that I make no apologies

oh you don't need to apologise for that; I only voted for 2 songs by those bands, both Yes, and both low on my ballot

It got called the "epics" poll as a shorthand when I first suggested polling based on track length in the queueing thread, but when we started discussing its parameters, people were constantly complaining that the time requirement left out songs that felt epic like I dunno some stupid GNR songs.

i failed to vote in this because it was a really busy week and i did not prepare but i hope it turns out well!! i really wanted to vote. o well!! let it be known that i saw swans yesterday and the penultimate part of their last song sounded almost identical to Mother Sky only minus the lead guitar and drum overdubs

i got a lot of American on my ballot; i guess a sizeable chunk of it is jazz.
