Also played a hot but screwed-up teenager in Skins.

hollywood ugly just another form of beautiful

seems unfair discussing hannah murray where nakhchivan won't see it. just start a thread w/ an oblique title about her. he'll be trapped there like a jurassic mosquito in amber.

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 12 May 2015 12:44 (eight years ago) link

Back when I wasn't really committed to Game Of Thrones I was watching it for Hannah Murray. Also,I might regret saying this but the first time I seen her in Skins, I cried because she's so beautiful (not joking at all, I also cried watching Debora Caprioglio).

What's Nakhchivan said about her?

Robert Adam Gilmour, Tuesday, 12 May 2015 12:49 (eight years ago) link

She's Cassie in Skins!

had no idea this was the same actress :o

surely someone who was in As If is now in GoT but WHO - the blonde brothel dude perhaps

nashwan, Tuesday, 12 May 2015 13:14 (eight years ago) link

Haven't noticed anyone from As If, but there is another Skins alumni (Gendry) and a couple from Hollyoaks (Missandei and that handmaiden who got locked in the vault).

I think Grenn was in Hollyoaks too actually.

Bronn of the Blackwater prevented Britpop from gaining chart dominance and is one half of the NXT tag team champions

Don't know if the Stannis guy ever gets involved in those 2:28 long Youtube interviews with bottom-tier entertainment websites where they ask what's in store for us in the upcoming season and get told "I can't tell you, I'll get shot ha ha you'll have to wait and see", but if he does, he should do them entirely in character

didn't realise stannis had got shirty about less/fewer before:

still kind of a dick move considering that Davos just learned how to read, probably isn't going to encourage him to become an English professor

has there been any explanation of what the brotherhood without banners are doing? you'd think a gang of immortal magic-wielding rebels would be able to have some kind of impact on things

cis-het shitlord (Merdeyeux), Thursday, 14 May 2015 21:36 (eight years ago) link

I really doubt the show will pick up that narrative again, considering how things are going

Clay, Thursday, 14 May 2015 21:45 (eight years ago) link

unless it goes off book I guess.. the producers said theyre not going there with the plot line I cant mention without spoiling shit, so yeah. =\

good episode marred by a predictable brutal and unnecessarily mean spirited ending imo

i haven't read the books; but from what i'm to understand, what we saw was the cute n cuddly version.

oh, i'm sure grmm had a fucking panoply of atrocities in print but i had been appreciating the cessation of "here's your rape for the episode" plotting while it lasted

yeah that was fkn awful, without showing anything at all

really just want ramsay to die horribly v v soon

difficult-difficult lemon-difficult (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 18 May 2015 05:49 (eight years ago) link

I can't think of any good reason not to have Theon run Ramsay through just as it was about to happen.

I mean, I can think of one scenario that rationalizes staging that scene the way they did, but that's a far cry from justifies.

def had a "why the fuck am i watching this" moment after that was over

head clowning instructor (art), Monday, 18 May 2015 06:34 (eight years ago) link

yeah i was glad to switch to mad men

i dunno how i feel about it still. i hate that it even has to be a plot point in some ways, like fuck you all these creeps

Jorah Mormont is Don Draper, basically

--AKA Thermo Thinwall (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall)

that is a fairly accurate description of the differences, although I had been dreading this scene all season regardless and it was still pleeeeenty disturbing

slothroprhymes, Monday, 18 May 2015 13:14 (eight years ago) link

well, we certainly needed that scene otherwise we might think Ramsey was a good guy

he will likely have to die soon, and Sansa will be carrying his child (haven't read the books, purely speculation)

damn, those Arya scenes were poorly lit. I have no idea what she saw in that temple

for real? i thought that was the thing that worked best. she saw many faces.

resulting post (rogermexico.), Monday, 18 May 2015 14:19 (eight years ago) link

Ha, are you implying that entire scene was almost completely dark for you? I think you need to adjust your TV!

Evan, Monday, 18 May 2015 14:27 (eight years ago) link

like heads in little alcoves.

it was very very dark for me too tbh

ramsay seems bad

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 14:51 (eight years ago) link

i keep wondering where he falls on the scale of evil, compared to joffrey. ramsay seems even crueler, somehow, to the poor souls he's able to interact with, but joffrey was almost as cruel in that way, and also had the opportunity to inflict misery on many more people than ramsay ever did.

i give them both a 9.9 out of 10.0, and i'm holding off on 10.0 because it's important to leave room to grow

Karl Malone, Monday, 18 May 2015 15:03 (eight years ago) link

camera pulls back further from theon weeping as he watches sansa being brutalized to reveal grrmartin watching the whole scene lasciviously
camera pulls back further to center on hbo executives watching everything, laughing maniacally, counting sweet sweet hbo go money
camera pulls back further to center on a massive television viewing audience conferring the patina of acceptance, posting thinkpieces on salon, dressing up as Jon Snow for halloween
camera pulls back further to god on a cloud with a flatscreen tv watching it all with an osamathumbsup.gif
that.... that is your TRUE EVIL

what is that?

can't something good happen to someone - like i dunno jaime's hand grows back or cersei meets an old college friend?

whole ep was just bad things happening and then here's a rape with a neutered tortured man forced to watch.

bureau belfast model (LocalGarda), Monday, 18 May 2015 18:33 (eight years ago) link

why are fictional depictions of sexual assault so much more difficult to watch than depictions of murder

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 18:35 (eight years ago) link

maybe cos they're less prevalent?
