it looks in the map like if you go west enough you can just walk around the wall. why didn't the wildlings do that?

The wall is really more for the Wildlings, I think. The mountains in the west are supposed to be pretty rough going.

They'd get farming land in the Gift:

The Gift extends immediately south of the Wall, stretching from the eastern to western coasts of Westeros. The southern border is roughly at the same parallel as the southern tip of the island of Skagos (slightly further north than the northern edge of Bear Island). There are probably a few left over who haven't been murdered by wildlings but it's largely uninhabited.

i kinda forgot that the wildlings just went on a pillaging spree through that area which i shouldn't have bc that little kid is obv torn up about it but i kinda tune out whenever he starts emo'ing

there was a scene just like in the 100 and the little kid killed the son of the President

i was thinking that the angsty kid at the wall will end up being good friends with one of the little wildling kids of the cool lady who sent them off in a boat and fought valiantly and then was transformed into an undead. then the kid will be like "now i can sympathize with jon snow's decision because i'm frenz with the wildling, and also now i like sam more too, cool"

that may be a too clean and heartwarming story arc ending for GoT, though

the moment he decides to open his heart to the wildlings some roose bolton mercenary bursts through the door, stabs him in the heart + flees

kid def seemed like he wanted to murder jon snow like everyone else

the lingering shot on the see-through young zombie boy that did in mama wildling sure did go on for awhile

oh shit, OR maybe the cool wildling who transformed into undead will come to face to face with her children. too paralyzed to move, angst kid will pull his trademark bow+arrow assassination+smirk+"fuck yeah, i did that" look, but then the abandoned wildling children will murder HIM and say "you know nothing, angst kid", full circle

Birgitte Hjort Sørensen was good in the role. There was one scene where all of a sudden she spoke Danglish, which kinda fitted the role, but I'm allergic to Danglish. I've spent years learning not to speak Danglish. And it's everywhere at the moment, Hannibal, The Duke of Burgundy, and now Game of Thrones. It freaks me out.

I thought she was going for an almost Irish accent at one stage. Like a Danish person doing an English person's Irish accent.
