Just a quick question going back to this scene with Stannis' camp getting attacked - did we actually see guys burning their camp? I sort of thought that was maybe triggered by Melisandre to kickstart the kid-burning. I can't remember how the scene played out visually - I just remember a wide-shot with a bunch of tents bursting into flames seemingly at the same time; it seemed vaguely supernatural. Did I just miss a shot of the attackers?

I don't think we saw anyone setting fires, but the previouslys reminded us about the Ramsey 20 so it was to be inferred it was them

I thought the fires definitely felt supernatural; I certainly felt like it was Melisandre's fault.

I'm having great difficulty keeping up with who is who and who did what this season, more than previously. I'm blaming the baby.

If it weren't for the Renly thing my suspicion would be that Melisandre = a fraud. It would at least be a good plot twist if it emerged that Stannis killed his own daughter for no reason.

His plan worked perfectly - they only wanted to send an intimidating warning and fuck with Stannis a bit more without the trouble of a full on military manouevre as discouraged by Roose.

I guess it's inevitable that at some point they will run out of humans to kill, so maybe the final season will only feature animals

stannis's daughter bit was genuinely upsetting.

i found it less distressing than it seems many did, and certainly less than the sansa rape scene. i suppose human sacrifice to the lord of light doesn't quite hit my emotional triggers in the way that rape does.

Being in possession of a fresh daughter myself, I found it pretty bloody horrible.

Willing to consider both the two most awful plot developments to have occurred in the show to date.

Surprised at so few mentions of the flayed old woman who wanted to help Sansa.

I don't think anything this season has really disturbed or upset me (apart from being stressed about the whereabouts of poor Varys). Not complaining or happy about that. I think maybe I would have been shocked by the burning if my sister hadn't been so certain Shireen would die.
I think everything that previously hit me hard was unexpected.
