Oh, Morrissey as Reacher would be good. The Thorne adaptations were decent. I loved The Wrong Mans as well, but don't think it went down too well in general because James Corden.

oh, i thought bosch was hulu but maybe it is amazon prime, i have one bosch book but i haven't gotten around to it.

the bosch books are good but LA as a locale is kinda....eh, you know, Hollywood and all that. been done to death plus they are the scariest cops in real life, so, hard to sympathize a lot. but he's a good plot-twister.

i like the Sandford books a lot more.

scott seward, Saturday, 27 June 2015 00:30 (eight years ago) link

digging the C.J. Box books i've been reading a lot too. those would make a good series a la Longmire. a game warden! in wyoming! but they are very addictive and entertaining. lots of elk talk.

Thorne books are by Mark Billingham

Virgil Flowers show would be awesome. speaking of Sandford.

scott seward, Saturday, 27 June 2015 00:32 (eight years ago) link

I've been reading Sandford lately too. Since I'm unlikely to ever actually move to Minneapolis (as was the plan for a while).

Stitchers on ABC Family is really surprisingly good. the premise is a little wonky -- a gov't agency solves crimes by accessing dead people's memories (hi iZombie) using a weird system where people lay in a pool of water (hi Minority Report) -- but the cast and the writing are really solid.

full circle since i started this thread: began by talking about Allegiance starring Hope Davis and who shows up midway through Wayward Pines...you guessed it, next stop wonderland herself.

i have the house to myself this week, and i'm finally getting back to Hell On Wheels. 4 seasons up on Netflix and i plan to watch all of them. it's very entertaining. i have no idea how historically accurate it is and i plan to keep it that way. also, thanks to this show and Longmire, i have now seen two modern television dramas that featured a native american bondage piercing sun vision ceremony. thumbs up, hollyweird!

i have to say, the first episode of season 3 of Hell On Wheels is probably my favorite episode so far and i can't remember the last time i watched a modern show like that where it just got SO good that far in. kudos to the HOW production team. that was seriously such a cool episode. such a good show. there is a thread for it on here but its three posts long, so, i'll just say that here. Mr. Swede! jesus, when has there been a character like that on t.v.? holy toledo.
