THe thing I have and mentioned earlier was a 2cd set called The Complete Animals which covered the Micky Most years 64-65 which was when the r'n'b group were first hitting the charts. It came out in `1990 and so is a pretty old master.
I think there has been a 2fer of the 1st couple of lps together but I could really do with a comprehensive set like that Complete Animals.

The other thing i Have is called inside looking out after a song they did which was a single at the time, later covered by Grand Funk. i think the cd basically covers the era around Animalism. It was on Sequel which was a cheapish label but the sound is good and I think it has some pretty decent linernotes.

There really should be a box set or some one stop comprehensive set of their work. While they never really did originals that well their covers of blues, R'n'b, soul etc were pretty great.
I don't remember really hearing much great lyyricism from ERic Burdon in his role as frontman. Though he could tell a decent history of the band as he did in Story of Bo Diddley on the first lp.
They seemed to be pretty wild livem, which is actually hence the name since they were officially the Alan Price (R'n'b) Combo when they got given the nickname and then chose to use it officially.
