Kinda liked Ronda Rousey beating up the mean girls.

the oscars diversity skit would have been hilarious had they not beat you over the head with the point at the very end of the sketch. the fake movie clips were very funny.

the leslie jones monologue was good but it's a shame she's supposed to be bouncing off of jost, he can't keep up w/ her at all

knew the oscar sketch was abt diversity approx .4 seconds into it

well it built up really well but then the end is the presenter going "the winner is... all the white guys!" and it's like "right. yeah. we got it. thank you."

yeah a lot of their sketches suffer from trying to put a bow on it at the end. the one w/ the two guys who didn't understand parties ended pretty badly with the quick jump forward to them actually showing up at the house.

you know, the shitty endsings of sketches don't really bother me that much? it doesn't really ruin a fun sketch before the end. it just makes it clear the sketch & laughs are over. like, the party guys are funny, even if the last line isn't. ditto "knowing" what the sketch is about re: oscar diversity, the joke isn't "getting" it? the increasingly pointless white roles (and the increasingly angry co-star glares) are what made it funny!

why do i always feel the need to defend this show :/

The Oscars thing seemed like they couldn't hold back so the second fake movie clip gives the joke away as obviously as possible. A little more buildup would've worked better.

If you, like me, enjoy impressions, check out Jay Pharaoh's appearance on Weekend Update this week. He does Dave Chappelle and Hannibal Burress! I don't think I've ever seen impressions of either guy before, by anyone.

Yeah that was pretty good. Not the best written bit but fun to watch.

Arianna Grande's impression of Jennifer Lawrence is kind of frighteningly good.

Right? I'd seen her do most of, if not all, her singing impressions on Fallon before, but she's just really good at impressions all around.

just started watching this consistently again for the first time in many many years; this week's episode is the first funny-all-the-way-through episode I've seen in almost forever.

I just had a conversation last week with my wife about how my favorite part of "The Sound Of Music" is when Maria walks down the aisle to all of the nuns singing shit about her so I loooooooooooooooved the final sketch, even with the cue card flubs.

Thought it might be so, but I've only just begun semi watching, don't know what is called sketches and what isn't. Aidy Bryant as the girl who interrupt porn shoots should be a regular sketch imo. Also, the two ex-porn stars.

Watched the mermaid sketch which wasn't that funny, but Beck Bennett is a really undervalued straight man imo. That won't make you famous, but in this and in the Adam Driver porn star sketch he was outstanding.
