that's an interesting on the 1995 techno sound, reminds me of stuff like "badger bite", but i just can't get with stuff that *fast* anymore, no patience for anything over 130
some of galcher lustwerk's best yet ... starts out really dry but soon goes into incredible detroit techno mode

do you mean in terms of four-on-the-floor, or in general? i've been mostly into 130+ lately but that usually involves syncopated kicks.
the second half of this radio show is all noisy 160 bpm hardcore, pretty slamming: https://soundcloud.com/do-the-astral-plane/radar-radio-w-hhope-28th-december

although as you know from my posts on the d&b thread when it's above 130 i prefer halftime stuff (or footwork i guess)
i am into a lot of ghetto house but part of why i like ghetto house is that you can pitch it down 10%, 12%, 14% and it still sounds normal

Oh, he was in Walls, I still play their first two albums on Kompakt every now and then. He also curated the fantastic Mutazione compilation released on Strut, which probably explains the direction he's taken with Not Waving.

j/k it's not *that* bad, sounds kind of like early james blake to me? not really the remit of this thread but not a million miles off i guess.
More "techno" in the USA 90's sense of the word (I guess it's called "EDM" now?). I just like how he blows through slow R&B, dubstep, D&B and 4-on-the-floor all in one track, and seems to nail great versions of each of them.
― schwantz, Wednesday, 17 February 2016 17:56 (eight years ago) link
definitely reads like pop/EDM James Blake or Jai Paul. some cool production touches but eh, it's so breathless and eager to please.
side note, i listened to J Blake's entire discography yesterday. really cool listening back to the early EPs in hindsight, there's so much of his voice (and whole toolkit in general) on 'The Bells Sketch' even. anyway.

I was underwhelmed by the 2nd time passages release when it came out last year but this last weekend i got lost in the catacombs / council offices after taking a wrong turn underneath the bus stations. And it immediately came to mind, space travel, igneous rocks, the musky atmosphere of abandoned files. I needed to go and buy the spacetravel record, they didnt have it in the local bring & buy sale, and it was £66 on discogs, but thats what you get for sleeping in
