everyone hates jahlil okafor even tho he put up 18-7 on 50% in 30mins a game while playing for an insanely constructed wildly dysfunctional team, like i can understand thinking hes flawed or went too high but ppl really seem to think hes the devil and irredeemable which is kinda weird imo, like hes a 20 y/o rookie who had a p good season he has time to work on improving his game more

like its not just matt many ppl are very down on this guy!

as a 21 year old, greg monroe shot 52 percent from the field on 11.8 shots per game with 9.7 rebounds per game. as a 25 year old, greg monroe is shooting 52 percent from the field on 12.4 shots per game with 9.4 rebounds per game.

notice i havent even started to contest yr assertion that okafor and monroe are the same person but if i were going to i wld start with the fact that they have different names and look different and also have been seen in the same place at the same time before

well monroe's rookie year numbers are a bit of a misnomer simply because he was only taking 7 shots per game, which jahlil isn't

if your argument is that 20 year old jahlil okafor has comparable numbers to 21 year old greg monroe whose numbers are identical to 25 year old greg monroe then i would say i'm not sure how that really helps your argument at all

jordans argument against okafor: he is the same person as greg monroe only with a different rookie usage rate or something, this makes tons of sense i am super convinced, also a 21 y/o 2nd year is more meaningful to compare to a 20 y/o rookie year than a 20 y/o rookie year is, this is smart greg monroe is the key def i dont knwo why i didnt see this before

nooo u were desperately searching for a rookie that didnt improve but u had to use his 2nd year stats lol

even if you dropped 5 percentage points off monroe's rookie FG% for reasons of usage he would still have the same offensive stats as okafor and be a better rebounder

it you wanted to take it to the real world its p obvious if youve ever watched them play that monroe is the better rebounder and okafor is a massively more talented scorer

i feel pretty comfortable saying even if the rest of his game never comes together that okafor will score a lot of points in the nba

if he can figure out how to play good positional D and make the right passes out of the double team he will be a star

otherwise hell be putting up 25 a game for a 25 win kings team before being reclaimed by the mavs lol

that monroe is a slightly better rebounder and okafor is a slightly better scorer doesn't really change negate my statement that okafor will be roughly as good as monroe

okafor is quite clearly a much much more talent offensive player than monroe, aaaand monroes development curve is also highly atypical, i mean it cld happen that way but all things considered its not the most likely outcome

i mean okafor cld totally flame out even and be in china in four years its possible but not super likely

if u were to extrapolate purely form okafors rookie year the most likely future is prob big scorer who never really is that great at the rest of the game, al jefferson if he werent the worst athlete in the league say
