he'll probably be as good as greg monroe, beauty is in the eye of the beholder

J0rdan S., Monday, 14 March 2016 22:18 (eight years ago) link

hes roughly as good as greg monroe right now!

lag∞n, Monday, 14 March 2016 22:20 (eight years ago) link

which is a nice way of saying that greg monroe hasn't gotten that much better from his rookie season i.e. jahlil okafor doesn't have that much upside

J0rdan S., Monday, 14 March 2016 22:22 (eight years ago) link

jordan u can look at greg monroes rookie stats they are available online

lag∞n, Monday, 14 March 2016 22:24 (eight years ago) link

as a 21 year old, greg monroe shot 52 percent from the field on 11.8 shots per game with 9.7 rebounds per game. as a 25 year old, greg monroe is shooting 52 percent from the field on 12.4 shots per game with 9.4 rebounds per game.

he's the same player.

J0rdan S., Monday, 14 March 2016 22:27 (eight years ago) link

jordan how can we trust yr opinion on this if you dont know what the word rookie means the definaiton is also available online

lag∞n, Monday, 14 March 2016 22:30 (eight years ago) link

notice i havent even started to contest yr assertion that okafor and monroe are the same person but if i were going to i wld start with the fact that they have different names and look different and also have been seen in the same place at the same time before

lag∞n, Monday, 14 March 2016 22:33 (eight years ago) link

well monroe's rookie year numbers are a bit of a misnomer simply because he was only taking 7 shots per game, which jahlil isn't

J0rdan S., Monday, 14 March 2016 22:33 (eight years ago) link

if your argument is that 20 year old jahlil okafor has comparable numbers to 21 year old greg monroe whose numbers are identical to 25 year old greg monroe then i would say i'm not sure how that really helps your argument at all

J0rdan S., Monday, 14 March 2016 22:34 (eight years ago) link

jordans argument against okafor: he is the same person as greg monroe only with a different rookie usage rate or something, this makes tons of sense i am super convinced, also a 21 y/o 2nd year is more meaningful to compare to a 20 y/o rookie year than a 20 y/o rookie year is, this is smart greg monroe is the key def i dont knwo why i didnt see this before

lag∞n, Monday, 14 March 2016 22:36 (eight years ago) link

i mean...... jahlil okafor's rookie year numbers are way worse than greg monroe's, i was trying to be generous to your argument

J0rdan S., Monday, 14 March 2016 22:39 (eight years ago) link

you guys are arguing about how good some loser on the 76ers is

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Monday, 14 March 2016 22:41 (eight years ago) link

yes because usage does not matter at all, btw i have applied the greg monore formula to all the rookies and bad new folks they are all bad

lag∞n, Monday, 14 March 2016 22:41 (eight years ago) link

nooo u were desperately searching for a rookie that didnt improve but u had to use his 2nd year stats lol

lag∞n, Monday, 14 March 2016 22:43 (eight years ago) link

even if you dropped 5 percentage points off monroe's rookie FG% for reasons of usage he would still have the same offensive stats as okafor and be a better rebounder

J0rdan S., Monday, 14 March 2016 22:45 (eight years ago) link

does this count as fanfic

lag∞n, Monday, 14 March 2016 22:46 (eight years ago) link

it you wanted to take it to the real world its p obvious if youve ever watched them play that monroe is the better rebounder and okafor is a massively more talented scorer

lag∞n, Monday, 14 March 2016 22:49 (eight years ago) link

this entire conversation is fanfic

J0rdan S., Monday, 14 March 2016 22:49 (eight years ago) link

i feel pretty comfortable saying even if the rest of his game never comes together that okafor will score a lot of points in the nba

lag∞n, Monday, 14 March 2016 22:50 (eight years ago) link

if he can figure out how to play good positional D and make the right passes out of the double team he will be a star

lag∞n, Monday, 14 March 2016 22:51 (eight years ago) link

otherwise hell be putting up 25 a game for a 25 win kings team before being reclaimed by the mavs lol

lag∞n, Monday, 14 March 2016 22:52 (eight years ago) link

that monroe is a slightly better rebounder and okafor is a slightly better scorer doesn't really change negate my statement that okafor will be roughly as good as monroe

J0rdan S., Monday, 14 March 2016 22:53 (eight years ago) link

okafor is quite clearly a much much more talent offensive player than monroe, aaaand monroes development curve is also highly atypical, i mean it cld happen that way but all things considered its not the most likely outcome

lag∞n, Monday, 14 March 2016 22:54 (eight years ago) link

i mean okafor cld totally flame out even and be in china in four years its possible but not super likely

lag∞n, Monday, 14 March 2016 22:55 (eight years ago) link

if u were to extrapolate purely form okafors rookie year the most likely future is prob big scorer who never really is that great at the rest of the game, al jefferson if he werent the worst athlete in the league say

lag∞n, Monday, 14 March 2016 22:57 (eight years ago) link

but he cld be better too, obvs starting out on the sixers isnt the most auspicious first step

lag∞n, Monday, 14 March 2016 23:00 (eight years ago) link

lagoon i am sending someone for you at your home, i let them know u r making lengthy arguments about the merits of jahlil okafor on the internet again, im worried about you

The Spurs' 23-point lead was their biggest blown lead in a loss in the Tim Duncan era (since 1997-98).
