harvey scratched tomorrow, opening day availability in question, mets won't say why except that 'his arm is fine'

@MarcCarig
Harvey says he had a bladder infection that prompted clots. Got tested, cleared for light activities. OK for Opening Day.

Harvey says he holds his urine in too long. Has to learn to pee more often.

EC: What do Nats have to do to overtake Mets? Is it as easy as bringing up Giolito and Turner and letting them play?

Klaw: Fire their manager?

Michael F Gill, Monday, 4 April 2016 01:52 (eight years ago) link

she's a regular since midsummer, no? seeing complaints on FB that espn team is making it sound like KCR is the only team that scouts, and similar witless stuff.

Mets radio good 'nuff for me.

She (Jessica Mendoza) did three games last year, but she's a regular starting this year though.

so syndergaard throws 95 mph sliders now

http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/noah-syndergaard-is-aroldis-chapman-now/

Karl Malone, Wednesday, 6 April 2016 16:18 (eight years ago) link

Eric: Keith, have you ever seen a 95mph slider before? Thor looks even better than advertised in your opinion who is the first pitcher the Mets lock up long term or do you think they will wait until they’re all eligible for free agency.

Klaw: No and I’m guessing that was a cutter (or a bad gun reading). Thor is the one guy of their aces I’d most want to lock up – I think he offers the best potential for durability. [Post-chat edit: sounds like pitch f/x had that velocity and Syndergaard called it a slider. I think it would be the hardest slider in MLB history.]

we can be heroes just for about 3.6 seconds (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 7 April 2016 20:50 (eight years ago) link

there's a GIF of it in that fangraphs article. i'm not fantastic at pitch recognition but it looks like a slider to me. insane

Karl Malone, Thursday, 7 April 2016 20:54 (eight years ago) link

pretty sure bartolo got the biggest cheer during opening day intros

mookieproof, Thursday, 17 November 2016 22:18 (seven years ago) link

@DCameronFG
Dumping Bruce is the easy part. But the team should probably start shopping Michael Conforto too.

http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/lets-fix-the-mets-outfield

mookieproof, Tuesday, 29 November 2016 21:45 (seven years ago) link

I'd think Houston or Texas might be interested in Bruce as both clubs seem to always look to get Texans playing on their teams.

I could perhaps see the Reds trading Hamilton as they got 3 other CF players on the 40 man roster. Hamilton would definitely be handy in the Mets new stadium since it is pretty big as he can cover a ton of ground.
