feel like ppl should lower their expectations...
while i was a big fan of Winter Soldier, feel like this is gonna have the messiness Avengers 2 had as they're going in to setup the Black Panther and Spidey reboot movies with this (not to mention Avengers 3.1 and 3.2 and Antman 2 and Guardians 2 and Doctor Strange and...), and it looks like there's even MORE characters in this one

I haven't been this excited for a movie in forever, and I'm probably not going to be able to see it in theatres. There's no way I can avoid spoilers until it's on bloody Pay per view. So mad.

Movie opens May 6 and I'm having a baby sometime between now and then. Can't take a newborn, can't leave it home. Ugh.

We totally took our babies to movies. They only wake up to eat, and feeding them makes them quiet and sleepy. Babies are the easiest to take out. Planes, restaurants ... they're self-contained and free everywhere. So don't feel bad, travel, go out, take that baby to the movies! And hey, congratulations.

Plus, if you're home, you can just go to a matinee where let's call it the rules of engagement are slightly different.

I dunno, I took my first two babies everywhere but for some reason a movie seems like a bad idea. But perhaps I will look into a matinee because (back on topic) this movie is going to be amazing.

honestly the only thing I'd be concerned about NOW would be the volume level in the theater

it's kind of annoying realizing that we totally had a window where we could have taken babies to the movies with little to no problem and, now that they're toddlers, we've missed it for the next 2-3 years and even then only for specific, targeted-to-them movies

Apparently, the filmmakers barrelled ahead with Spider-Man as a central part of the plot long before they had secured the actual rights to use Spider-Man in the film. Without any real plan B on the off chance that negotiations with Sony fell through. Chutzpah! I love it!

Without knowing a lot about the Marvel universe etc, I'm trying to figure out how Spiderman could possibly be *central* to this plot.

Also there's some car commercial that shows more of the Black Panther tunnel chase scene. Looks really cool.

I'm assuming it's less "the movie is about Spider Man" and more "there is a critical plot point revolving around Spider Man that would have required serious reworking had the negotiations fallen through"

I was reading something that...Kevin Feige, maybe?...said about Spider-Man in the MCU and how it's important to keep in mind that he would've been a little kid when aliens invaded New York and how that might have affected his worldview. It's an interesting perspective, and I'm sure it'll play into the plot somehow.

The first half of Civil War will offer a new perspective on the Chitauri invasion, as a pre-adolescent Peter Parker runs through NYC looking for his uncle, only to witness the Avengers crashing into and ultimately destroying the building Ben was in. Cut to several years later and three hours of grim Spider-on-Avenger violence ensue before Peter shouts out his endangered aunt's name, which just happens to also be Captain America's favorite month, and all fences are mended once the sworn enemies form a dubious bond over a proper noun.

TBF, Aunt May has kinda been mildly Benjamin Button-ed over the course of her comics existence, as well. Ditko's May appears to be around 142 years old.
