right, i'm saying underhand isn't necessarily just a last resort for hopeless cases like drummond even though it's fallen like beyond out of fashion.

Jenny Ondioleeene (Leee), Sunday, 1 May 2016 03:16 (eight years ago) link

Luke Walton unlikely to repeat his record as Kerr's stand-in when he takes over the Lakers.

a little too mature to be cute (Aimless), Sunday, 1 May 2016 03:26 (eight years ago) link

6 god none the richer (m bison), Sunday, 1 May 2016 04:14 (eight years ago) link

lag∞n, Sunday, 1 May 2016 04:14 (eight years ago) link

too proud to win?

the warriors completing the first ever undefeated season wld def be p boring, the only thing that wld keep it interesting wld be the intense loathing from every basketball fan in the world

sports fandom is literally about indulging vicarious fantasies of physical conquest based on arbitrary geographical conditions, let me have this

6 god none the richer (m bison), Sunday, 1 May 2016 04:24 (eight years ago) link

yr team is currently marking toward a championship, request denied

he's going to the most storied franchise in the nba but i do kinda think he'll wait a year and then take russ to the lakers w/ him.

watching the 90s magic 30 for 30, i'd forgotten young shaq, just a force of nature.

balls, Sunday, 1 May 2016 15:28 (eight years ago) link

i dont see kd on the lakers, russ prob tho

lag∞n, Sunday, 1 May 2016 15:35 (eight years ago) link

lol skiles was a killjoy asshole as a player too

balls, Sunday, 1 May 2016 15:40 (eight years ago) link

^just watched this too, I did not forget what an unbelievable force young Shaq was but I did forget how astoundingly shook nick Anderson was (and how screwed up he was about free throws forever!) and how quickly Shaq went from Orlando to la

kd, even kd and rwb together, to the lakers makes no sense at all to me. It's a step backwards to a poorly run franchise that will take years to compete, in a conference where you've got to beat the warriors and spurs.

Clay, Sunday, 1 May 2016 18:43 (eight years ago) link

also feel like players have become more aware of how bad it looks to run to a prestige franchise/team of mercenaries after the decision and to a lesser extent the are we having fun yet lakers and the melo knicks, flip side of the is prob a greater awareness of the value of a quality organization

lag∞n, Sunday, 1 May 2016 19:01 (eight years ago) link

dwight fled from LA, lma didnt even consider any of the destination teams

lag∞n, Sunday, 1 May 2016 19:03 (eight years ago) link

bron went back to cleve lol

lag∞n, Sunday, 1 May 2016 19:04 (eight years ago) link

obvs thats gonna vary depending on the individual player but feel like there has been a shift

lag∞n, Sunday, 1 May 2016 19:04 (eight years ago) link

yeah it's not like these guys don't know the same stuff we know.

also just don't get the sense that kd wants anything at all to do with russ whatsoever, but that could be my own personal bias against knuckleheads.

Clay, Sunday, 1 May 2016 19:06 (eight years ago) link

yeah lakers are not getting the good FA's for years.

6 god none the richer (m bison), Sunday, 1 May 2016 19:19 (eight years ago) link

feel like there are the "join a superteam" options (gsw and sas), then there are the "go to the east and maybe go to the finals a few times" options (mia and bos) and then there's the "i'm risk averse and this is all that i have ever known" option which is okc. there is no "join a rebuilding team during the last few years of my prime" option.

6 god none the richer (m bison), Sunday, 1 May 2016 19:21 (eight years ago) link

pros/cons
gsw
pros: could join greatest team ever, win titles for years
cons: would be second fiddle to curry, never be known as "the guy", could disrupt the chemistry of the dubs

sas
pros: best coach in the game, tons of talent at many age levels and positions, best tacos, best fans, close to UT, best tacos, would become greatest team of all time, greatest tacos
cons:

bos
pros: would be the dude, would be worshiped
cons: angry white ppl

mia
pros: fans dont care, no pressure, pat riley, not that far away from contention if he joins
cons: looks like he's copying lebron careerwise, looks hella lame

okc
pros: already your team, make hella money
cons: already never gonna win a title and your sidekick might leave and even if he stays hes gonna shoot too much

6 god none the richer (m bison), Sunday, 1 May 2016 19:30 (eight years ago) link

if theres one lesson of america its having angry wites on yr side is pretty good

lag∞n, Sunday, 1 May 2016 19:32 (eight years ago) link

except bball

6 god none the richer (m bison), Sunday, 1 May 2016 19:37 (eight years ago) link

celtics have done p good as a franchise

lag∞n, Sunday, 1 May 2016 20:21 (eight years ago) link

who wouldn't want to play w/ kelly olynyk and marcus smart

balls, Monday, 2 May 2016 00:51 (eight years ago) link

yes who wldnt want to play with just paul pierce and i bunch of scrubs, if only the celtics had some valuable assets and a gm with a history of turning assets into star players

balls, Monday, 2 May 2016 01:01 (eight years ago) link

if the nets pick lands in the top two (~35% iirc) theyre gonna have pa lot of options, regardless its in the top six so it has good value even if they lose the lottery

lag∞n, Monday, 2 May 2016 01:03 (eight years ago) link

i mean id be cool w the celtics keeping that pick and signing horford or w/e

lag∞n, Monday, 2 May 2016 01:08 (eight years ago) link

think they have a p reasonable chance of prying a better player lose tho
