i have something to say about the offseason THE 2016 NBA OFFSEASON

players like wiggins just dont get traded at this stage in their careers is how i break it down to an extent

The same age thing is compelling, in an unrelated way I think a butler type guy- early prime, got some experience in the OFFS, would be great to mix in to that group

I'm guilty of mostly going on eye test with Wiggins where every time I watched he seemed to have little to no noticeable effect on the game

its not a perfect trade but an opportunity like this does not come up often

the wolves would be crazy to do that trade, come on

they do not need to get older when the warriors are still in god mode. let them develop

I would be a terrible general manager. I don't have one coherent idea about a butler for wiggins trade. I can assess the play of teams and players, if I can watch them playing together, but a trade requires imagining the effect of a player who isn't yet on your team, while also imagining the effect of losing the player you trade away. Plus all the intricate league rules and contractual details. I'm pretty sure I'd suck at it.

conley is a good player & i get why the grizz don't want to tear down and rebuild buuuuuuuuuuuuut i dunno if i'm signing up to give mike conley $125 million

current jazz roster + conley would be a mid-seed playoff team easy. they gave so many minutes to terrible guards this year and still only missed the offs by a game.

he would be good in sacramento as a defense-oriented playmaker but kings being who they are theyll prob just sign rondo for the max

spurs probably interested in conley too tbh i think we've discussed that one already

knicks would totally be a playoff team with conley and have the advantage of playing in the east

feel like exum is so young and raw four years of conley isnt gonna be a problem for his development

yeah i don't think utah can afford to spend another year finding out if exum is good enough, his injury was awkward for their timeline

not sure if having 10 not-quite-good-enough-for-the-offs teams counts as deep

theres a lot of talent but it hasn't coalesced into good teams yet

deep maybe in the sense like all the teams are pondering the futility of their existence.

Only if Duncan retires. PG is their weak link right now, plus it wouldn't surprise me if spurs nab pau for the MLE.

this offseason could get wild

all i'm saying is that in the 3 seasons previous to this one, the 8th seed into the east got in with 38 wins. this year, the pistons had 44 wins. that's not an insignificant jump. the knicks finished with 32 wins last year, so a few years ago seasons just adding conley would have made them a playoff team but i don't think that is true anymore.

i think this year it became pretty clear that the floor of the east got raised, maybe even above the west (the records bear that out at least, maybe it will revert back this season if teams like houston, utah and new orleans have better seasons)

floor for playoff contenders i mean. obv sixers, nets etc were as bad as ever

Team is renegotiating it's broadcast deal(s) so I'm sure that's the rub here
