theres a lot of talent but it hasn't coalesced into good teams yet

deep maybe in the sense like all the teams are pondering the futility of their existence.

Only if Duncan retires. PG is their weak link right now, plus it wouldn't surprise me if spurs nab pau for the MLE.

this offseason could get wild

all i'm saying is that in the 3 seasons previous to this one, the 8th seed into the east got in with 38 wins. this year, the pistons had 44 wins. that's not an insignificant jump. the knicks finished with 32 wins last year, so a few years ago seasons just adding conley would have made them a playoff team but i don't think that is true anymore.

i think this year it became pretty clear that the floor of the east got raised, maybe even above the west (the records bear that out at least, maybe it will revert back this season if teams like houston, utah and new orleans have better seasons)

It's definitely gonna be bananas with the amount of $$$ out there and a bunch of asset-hoarding teams ready to strike, plus the arms race at the top is going to be just as intense as last year regardless who wins the finals

ya what if dubs/spurs/thunder just add more quality dudes

everyone else stuck on the sidelines

seems like the thunder are pretty much set but the spurs could make some big moves, or may be forced to. def interesting to see what the warriors do on the margins too.

ehh duncans cooked and horford is better than conley, gasol is kinda a wild card but also old injury prone and one of the worst defenders in the league and who know if they cn actually get him at a discount so lets ignore him for a moment, theyre gonna have to fill one starting spot w a mle type, you have flexibility with aldridge and kawhi positionally so that slot cld be any of 1-3-4-5, guess it just depends on who u cn get, i like horford over conley the big risk there is u cld be left w not enough ballhandling/playmaking, either of them wld prob be p great anyway, thats one of those good problems

barnes is for sure bouncing. they'll prob keep ezili knowing bogut is gone in a year. they should be able to find replacements for the others pretty easily.

warriors have said they will match barnes but i bet that's lip service unless the only offers that come in are similar to what they offered last year. but he may want to bounce anyway

this thing happened where he was an insanely hyped phenom compared to kobe and then it turned out he was just a nice guy and nice player who wasn't dominant even in college but then he got drafted by a team that could make ideal use of his skills and personality so he went from mild disappointment w/ unfulfilled potential to perfectly cast roleplayer on a dynasty. but now he's about to make $20 million a year and the perception will flip back to disappointment who should do more with his skills.

he has one good dunk a year and then never drives again, or when he does he avoids contact. i feel like he plays not to get injured. doesnt utilize his athleticism at all
