im not watching the game right now as both games are pay per view on my cable package and im contenting myself with some mls right now before paying for the game i really care about
― The Nickelbackean Ethics (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 19 June 2016 00:42 (seven years ago) link
first one, which was the opening goal of the match, was a goalkeeping mistake by claudio bravo, who let a weak shot from distance trickle in the net.
thinking of this again: think both of the goals were goalkeeping mistakes (can't remember that well only watched the highlights).
hilarious how much a game in the u.s. is a home game for mexico, could hardly hear the chilean anthem.
― The Nickelbackean Ethics (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 19 June 2016 02:11 (seven years ago) link
lol yay Chile. I hate El Tri so damn much
― Neanderthal, Sunday, 19 June 2016 02:31 (seven years ago) link
well, mostly their fans. when I was at their match against Panama in the Gold Cup last year I saw two Mexico fans get in a fight *with each other*.
really glad they didn't call a penalty on that one stumble in the box, did not want a repeat of #noerapenal
they sell Ochoa wigs
this is hella slander, u will not besmirch chicharito, carnál
― 6 god none the richer (m bison), Sunday, 19 June 2016 02:36 (seven years ago) link
I'm still mad that the Chicharito to Orlando City rumors never panned out.
― Neanderthal, Sunday, 19 June 2016 02:37 (seven years ago) link
this has been a good wee game so far. im tense as fuck though, and chile scoring didn't help things, if anything it heightened it.
chile were bossing it to start but mexico definitely on top at the moment and expect them to create a good chance before too long. ten minutes til half time.
― The Nickelbackean Ethics (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 19 June 2016 02:43 (seven years ago) link
aww man. good call on the offside tho
― Neanderthal, Sunday, 19 June 2016 02:44 (seven years ago) link
oh god, chile have goal correctly chopped off for offside after a beautiful move, gawd if vargas had just held his run a second more
― The Nickelbackean Ethics (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 19 June 2016 02:44 (seven years ago) link
so far FX's coverage better than Fox Sports 1, where they literally spend 3 minutes showing replays or the faces of coaches while the game goes on down the field
― Neanderthal, Sunday, 19 June 2016 02:46 (seven years ago) link
vidal got a yellow card and will be suspended for the semi if chile qualify. that seems like a kiss of death to their chances in the tournament even if we assume they'll win tonight. such a key player
― The Nickelbackean Ethics (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 19 June 2016 02:48 (seven years ago) link
the pace of this match is great
― Neanderthal, Sunday, 19 June 2016 02:50 (seven years ago) link
shoulda passed there d00d
HOLY SHIT
that was pretty
― Neanderthal, Sunday, 19 June 2016 02:51 (seven years ago) link
oh my god 2-0 chile this is amazing, they are really cutting mexico apart when they get in dangerous positions, so many runs that the mexicans can't keep up with to track
― The Nickelbackean Ethics (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 19 June 2016 02:52 (seven years ago) link
playing a lot of nice balls in. Ochoa had no damn chance
― Neanderthal, Sunday, 19 June 2016 02:53 (seven years ago) link
so what's the leading predicted reason Messi and Arg are not gonna win this yet again this year
― Neanderthal, Sunday, 19 June 2016 03:01 (seven years ago) link
Some sort of curse? Actually just came to post that friend from Argentina is being cagey about their chances on Tuesday against USA.
― Cry for a Shadow Blaster (James Redd and the Blecchs), Sunday, 19 June 2016 03:10 (seven years ago) link
same announcers/etc, not sure about production teams. tonight's coverage has been closer to how European matches are shown where you only show replays during down moments. the other night w/ USA and Ecuador they kept diverting away from the action for long periods of time, then the camera would swing back and you'd see a team outside the box lining up a cross. I was waiting for them to outright miss a goal.
― Neanderthal, Sunday, 19 June 2016 03:13 (seven years ago) link
HAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHA
man see this is why I hate El Tri fans. throwing shit on the field now
― Neanderthal, Sunday, 19 June 2016 03:14 (seven years ago) link
they did that at the Gold Cup match I was at too. thta's actually what started the fight between the two fans.
But I switched to Fox en Español just in time for third goal
― Cry for a Shadow Blaster (James Redd and the Blecchs), Sunday, 19 June 2016 03:15 (seven years ago) link
that was a beauty of a setup. so creative.

― The Nickelbackean Ethics (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 19 June 2016 03:17 (seven years ago) link
so USA is going to be the last CONCACAF team standing. didn't see that coming
(granted, there was a LOT of luck involved, but hey....)
they're just confident now, everything's falling for them xpost
im stifling wild screaming celebration as im sitting on a couch with two sleeping cats
― The Nickelbackean Ethics (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 19 June 2016 03:18 (seven years ago) link
man it's gonna be that much more deflating when Mexico wins 5-4
― Neanderthal, Sunday, 19 June 2016 03:18 (seven years ago) link
j/k
the yellow card accumulation suspensions are always so deflating in this tournament, puts dampers on wins. almost wish they'd raise the total from 2 to 3 but it'd probably inspire more reckless play

― Neanderthal, Sunday, 19 June 2016 03:25 (seven years ago) link
according to spanish stat guy on twitter mister chip eduardo vargas' hat-trick in this game is the first mexico has ever conceded in the copa america and chile's first in the copa america since 1955.
― The Nickelbackean Ethics (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 19 June 2016 03:30 (seven years ago) link
Feel kind of bad for Ochoa.
― Cry for a Shadow Blaster (James Redd and the Blecchs), Sunday, 19 June 2016 03:32 (seven years ago) link
yeah, really he had no chance on most of them. Chile just doing some incredible things with the ball in the final third.
― Neanderthal, Sunday, 19 June 2016 03:34 (seven years ago) link
