stein reported that the pistons might go after horford, which seems odd given literally every fact about drummond (including his age)

stan van might have nightmares about centers that can't shoot FTs

spottie et al, what would you think of the warriors letting barnes go to sign batum

Clay, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 00:33 (seven years ago) link

I'd rather they find a cheap wing and spend on post play

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Tuesday, 28 June 2016 00:39 (seven years ago) link

batum is better than barnes so if barnes is getting a max deal its not impossible that he gets something big

ciderpress, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 01:10 (seven years ago) link

other wing options would be parsons, bazemore

ciderpress, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 01:10 (seven years ago) link

return of the bazed god

brimstead, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 01:24 (seven years ago) link

Batum would be cool but he's injury prone

moistest hoist (Spottie), Tuesday, 28 June 2016 01:25 (seven years ago) link

batum has played 70+ games the past 4 seasons, idk what the line is for 'injury prone'

ciderpress, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 01:38 (seven years ago) link

batum wld be good as heck on the dubs

lag∞n, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 01:40 (seven years ago) link

agreed

ciderpress, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 01:41 (seven years ago) link

Always seems like he's out with something. Also played through a bad toe for like 1/3 of the last season and his production dipped. that 70+ games per year is kinda surprising

moistest hoist (Spottie), Tuesday, 28 June 2016 01:43 (seven years ago) link

dubs can legitimately improve their team from this year's

ciderpress, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 01:43 (seven years ago) link

And yes he's better than Barnes at everything. I'm all about batum

moistest hoist (Spottie), Tuesday, 28 June 2016 01:44 (seven years ago) link

without durant i mean xp. obv durant does it

ciderpress, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 01:45 (seven years ago) link

Yeah he's second on my list after durant

moistest hoist (Spottie), Tuesday, 28 June 2016 01:47 (seven years ago) link

v much fear the improvening of the warriors. my preference is that all talent spurn them bc of 73-win jinx.

6 god none the richer (m bison), Tuesday, 28 June 2016 01:51 (seven years ago) link

like i wish ppl would stop talking like KD to the warriors is a distinct reality bc it makes me v v mad, way more mad than lebron and everybody going to miami bc they took a mediocre heat team into a juggernaut. kd would take a juggernaut into a word that should be illegal to say aloud.

6 god none the richer (m bison), Tuesday, 28 June 2016 01:53 (seven years ago) link

*whispers* a fuckernaut

6 god none the richer (m bison), Tuesday, 28 June 2016 01:53 (seven years ago) link

the way i see it, there were 4 teams that were legit contenders and kd leaving okc for gs or sa would mean theres 3, right? bc okc would barely make the playoffs without him.

6 god none the richer (m bison), Tuesday, 28 June 2016 01:54 (seven years ago) link

Thems the breaks when you have an mvp making the 6th most on the team

moistest hoist (Spottie), Tuesday, 28 June 2016 01:55 (seven years ago) link

thats...that is NOT what kurtis blow said, those ARE NOT the breaks

6 god none the richer (m bison), Tuesday, 28 June 2016 01:58 (seven years ago) link

Otm

moistest hoist (Spottie), Tuesday, 28 June 2016 02:00 (seven years ago) link

*mounts hobby horse* this is a problem that is immediately solved with a hard cap and no max salary imo

6 god none the richer (m bison), Tuesday, 28 June 2016 02:01 (seven years ago) link

for the sake of my own entertainment i don't really want the nba to turn into the nhl.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 02:05 (seven years ago) link

oh not that, to clarify i think there should limits on contract lengths bc fuck 12 year contracts or w/e, but a player should be able to make as much as a team is willing to pay within the cap (so i guess its still a de facto max salary but just a way way higher ceiling)

6 god none the richer (m bison), Tuesday, 28 June 2016 02:21 (seven years ago) link

i agree with eliminating max salaries but hard caps are so boring for roster management junkies of which i am increasingly one

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 02:24 (seven years ago) link

Are you all a bunch of CPAs or quants or something? Cap management makes me zzz.

Interpretive Jigglypuffery (Leee), Tuesday, 28 June 2016 02:33 (seven years ago) link

no it's just that the more ways you can fuck w/the cap the more options are open and the more crazy things you can discuss.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 02:36 (seven years ago) link

i like the nba being biased towards teams retaining stars

lag∞n, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 02:39 (seven years ago) link

i have a hard time feeling bad for people making 25 million a year missing out on money because of max salaries

k3vin k., Tuesday, 28 June 2016 02:42 (seven years ago) link

the problem this year is the cap jump which cldve been avoided by denominating contracts as a % of the cap instead of in dollars

lag∞n, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 02:45 (seven years ago) link

i've actually never heard that floated before, that's a pr obvious and smart idea

Clay, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 02:49 (seven years ago) link

thx

lag∞n, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 02:54 (seven years ago) link

crazy thing is its in some way already the case, players get 50% of revenue

lag∞n, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 02:56 (seven years ago) link

(also getting rid of max salaries)

6 god none the richer (m bison), Tuesday, 28 June 2016 02:56 (seven years ago) link

That sounds like profit sharing!
