where did she learn to make a pie, I think it would be hard to make pastry to the standard a lord would expect. she has to make frey eat his own sons, that's the whole point, so she'd have to cook it or it'd be obvious. disappointing the son wasn't called bentos

holy shit how has no-one made this joke yet. I am wholly disappointed in myself.
doesn't darragh watch GOT?

ian, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 20:56 (seven years ago) link

yeah, it's much less shoehorned in the books though

really wasn't necessary to have Arya do it

Were there whole eyeballs in the pies? I couldn't tell on my screen.

sorry kinder, but given you yrself had forgotten I don't feel too bad

lena headey is so good in this, cersei could be a pretty terrible character but she's just a boss, esp love her new outfit

ogmor, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 21:47 (seven years ago) link

Lena Headey was also good as the heavy in the Judge Dredd movie from a few years ago.

earlnash, Tuesday, 28 June 2016 22:13 (seven years ago) link

I just read in her wiki article that she was dating Bronn at some point IRL and then they had a mean breakup and had to be kept apart on set, lol wtf

Rewatching the episode, I noticed that Arya's face was of the woman who served wine and looked at Jaime earlier in the episode. Probably Arya then as well.

remove butt (abanana), Wednesday, 29 June 2016 00:38 (seven years ago) link

Yeah someone went ew about that upthread.

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Wednesday, 29 June 2016 00:44 (seven years ago) link

o that's apparently from snl. i am too gullible

Yeah I thought she'd be gunning for the Kingslayer in that episode alone but I hope his character's got a way to run yet. I'll feel robbed if they don't set him face to face with Dany at some point.

Hope Varys, Grey Worm and Theon get to hang out more together.

nashwan, Wednesday, 29 June 2016 10:03 (seven years ago) link

That would be good - they all have such different responses to their castration. Theon could certainly see the example of the other two.

inside, skeletons are always inside, that's obvious. (dowd), Wednesday, 29 June 2016 11:11 (seven years ago) link

TOO SOON.

BTW, I kinda entertained the idea that Varys actually has a twin, thus explaining his being in two places at "once".

albvivertine, Wednesday, 29 June 2016 21:38 (seven years ago) link

Not sure why there was so much obfuscating of Jon's father's name in the Tower of Joy scene (thought it all seemed pretty obvious) since the HBO website has confirmed it.

El Tomboto, Thursday, 30 June 2016 00:12 (seven years ago) link

One thing I did ponder: was the wildfire cache always under the sept like that specifically, or did someone move it there?

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Thursday, 30 June 2016 00:23 (seven years ago) link

thanks gukbe

trayce, that cache was there from before the show even started - it was placed at the orders of the mad king, and his intent to use it (along with other caches around town! still there, presumably!) was why Jaime got the nickname

El Tomboto, Thursday, 30 June 2016 00:25 (seven years ago) link

Also I have to assume Qyburn and his birds had to knock open at least a couple of bricked-up passages to find that shit, if it were as easy as they made it seem in the episode, somebody else would have discovered it in the intervening period (at least 20 years in Westeros-time)

QUESTION: how do GoTverse people measure years if winter isn't annual?

El Tomboto, Thursday, 30 June 2016 00:28 (seven years ago) link

Oh I knew the cache had always existed under the city, I just wondered if it had always been conveniently under the sept.

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Thursday, 30 June 2016 00:32 (seven years ago) link

..but if theres more than one cache that would explain it dur.
