that's such a weird callback on that album

It's mystified me for decades.

Why Do You Bother is pretty fucking awesome. I never got into the first record before, just due to its lack of availability at the time when I cared most about FNM. Finally picked it up on cassette from a thrift store in the early 2000s but didn't give it a serious listen. Introduce Yourself still a better album as a whole. Wish that neither of them had We Care A Lot on it though. Lol.

I think part of my aversion to We Care a Lot is rooted in my little sister's Care Bear collection.

Not my choice, but it ws probably my first favorite song from the album. Always makes me want a cream soda.

I love this band so much.
It never stops being insane that you can get five guys to agree on that sound in 1987 and then they can go platinum in a pre-Nevermind world

Like OK, the rhythm section will be a cross between Public Image Limited and Newcleus; we'll have a bonkers shredding heavy metal guitar player and then there's a keyboard player which hasn't been cool in rock bands for like a decade. Also, our singer is an art-punk who's gonna croon about cream soda. Can we be on MTV now?
