(Not taking anything away from Rostov btw, they have been impressive against Ajax earlier, just a bit uneven at times)
― Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 23 November 2016 20:10 (seven years ago) link
No, Bayern were on top for most of the game and Rostov scored with pretty much all of their shots on target. It's a bit of a fluke but Bayern were ok.
― Bubba H.O.T.A.P.E (ShariVari), Wednesday, 23 November 2016 20:12 (seven years ago) link
Good on Rostov though, they've made their mark and won't be a one day fly I think.
― Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 23 November 2016 20:30 (seven years ago) link
Benficas third goal was hilarious: they hit the crossbar, right post, left post and then scored.
― Jibe, Wednesday, 23 November 2016 22:28 (seven years ago) link
I just came here to post that Benfica goal.
― Matt DC, Thursday, 24 November 2016 14:36 (seven years ago) link

― Bubba H.O.T.A.P.E (ShariVari), Wednesday, 7 December 2016 20:26 (seven years ago) link
How are they getting this much space on the break? Should be 1-2.
― Bubba H.O.T.A.P.E (ShariVari), Wednesday, 7 December 2016 20:29 (seven years ago) link
weve no fullbacks defending, one cb and hes not really too bothered and wanyama isnt even covering very well.
― loudmouth darraghmac ween (darraghmac), Wednesday, 7 December 2016 20:31 (seven years ago) link
Leicester throwing a CL match. Fuck 2016.
― Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 7 December 2016 20:32 (seven years ago) link
been ok so far but the lack of any option for walker to pop a quick ball to feet in to son, alli or kane seems a glaring flaw
― loudmouth darraghmac ween (darraghmac), Wednesday, 7 December 2016 20:32 (seven years ago) link
oh thats rather lovely
bizarre og but really good and varied buildup play tonight. kane makes everything else work.
― loudmouth darraghmac ween (darraghmac), Wednesday, 7 December 2016 21:23 (seven years ago) link
Enjoyed that a lot more than the two games that actually meant something.
― Matt DC, Wednesday, 7 December 2016 22:13 (seven years ago) link
I remembered within about 20 seconds of his having come on that Alderweireld is our main playmaker.

Thinks that's a cracking draw. Aside from Juve and Atleti who I expect to progress and PSG vs Barcelona for what seems like the fourth year in a row the other 5 ties actually have me interested.
― pandemic, Monday, 12 December 2016 14:54 (seven years ago) link
Draxler 2-0!
― Bubba H.O.T.A.P.E (ShariVari), Tuesday, 14 February 2017 20:27 (seven years ago) link
Barca haven't turned up at all
― Number None, Tuesday, 14 February 2017 20:28 (seven years ago) link
pretty sure Stevie G referred to yon Barca right back as 'Zé Roberto' pre-match, so I guess 'Sergio Roberto' is a step in the right direction but nevertheless
― Windsor Davies, Tuesday, 14 February 2017 20:42 (seven years ago) link
Barca being destroyed, 3-0 Di Maria. Loving this tbph
― Le Bateau Ivre, Tuesday, 14 February 2017 20:59 (seven years ago) link
Every second ball is for PSG. Barca look... drugged.
Cavani 4-0

― mookieproof, Tuesday, 14 February 2017 21:14 (seven years ago) link
bummed to have missed out on this
― jason waterfalls (gbx), Tuesday, 14 February 2017 21:34 (seven years ago) link
It could have been 7-0. Quite amazing.
― Le Bateau Ivre, Tuesday, 14 February 2017 21:42 (seven years ago) link
It was amazing. PSG out-Barca'd Barca. What a game from Veratti
― pointless rock guitar (Michael B), Tuesday, 14 February 2017 22:19 (seven years ago) link
PSG not even that good Imo, RIP Barca
― Treesh-Hurt (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 14 February 2017 22:38 (seven years ago) link
PSG were not only that good but that's one of the most complete performances I've ever seen tbh
I traded a lot to watch that tonight and it turned out a bargain
― Betsy DeVos Ayes (darraghmac), Tuesday, 14 February 2017 22:45 (seven years ago) link
barca still had 57% possession, they just . . . never went anywhere
― mookieproof, Tuesday, 14 February 2017 22:50 (seven years ago) link
Tackling tonight alone from PSG was of an incredible standard.
― Betsy DeVos Ayes (darraghmac), Tuesday, 14 February 2017 22:51 (seven years ago) link
With D on this one, I though PSG were magnificent. And they kept at it! Even for PSG that takes some doing being 2-0 up. Every ball, every tackle was theirs, clinical finishing. Within their capablities it was a near perfect match for PSG.
― Le Bateau Ivre, Tuesday, 14 February 2017 22:56 (seven years ago) link
PSG were great, i'm not diminishing that performance, but there are easily a minimum of 3 teams still in the competition that will not let them play like that.
― Treesh-Hurt (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 14 February 2017 23:23 (seven years ago) link
the headline story here is that old school Barca are done: Piqué, Busquets, Iniesta, Messi - even the relatively non-Alzheimer's Neymar & Suarez looked fucked
― Treesh-Hurt (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 14 February 2017 23:26 (seven years ago) link
Neymar was good. Pique was ok. The rest, eesh. Never thought I'd see messi play like that, iniesta missing passes from ten yards. Bizarre.
― Betsy DeVos Ayes (darraghmac), Tuesday, 14 February 2017 23:30 (seven years ago) link
correct me if i'm wrong but didn't Pique's lumpen positioning play Draxler on for PSG's second?
― Treesh-Hurt (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 14 February 2017 23:32 (seven years ago) link
Look man what's yr angle here anyway Madrid were the fascists remember
― Betsy DeVos Ayes (darraghmac), Tuesday, 14 February 2017 23:36 (seven years ago) link
my angle is jesus christ it was like watching a puppy get run over by a steamroller for 2 hours
― Treesh-Hurt (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 14 February 2017 23:40 (seven years ago) link
It was much more like Godzilla getting smashed about by the undercard tbh and noteworthy for that alone
― Betsy DeVos Ayes (darraghmac), Tuesday, 14 February 2017 23:49 (seven years ago) link
That was terrific. Rabiot was so so good and Draxler has woken from his Wolfsburg slumber. Emery the European master.
― pandemic, Wednesday, 15 February 2017 10:17 (seven years ago) link
Rabiot was good, but Verratti was motm for me. What a game he played.
