Yeah JinC, the poetic-justice bit is that political neophytes and amateurs often don't have the track records necessary to allow them to be indicted with their own words.* Sessions is on record from Clinton impeachment days, providing lots of hypocrisy talking points.

* = Though Trump is valiantly trying to provide lots of hypocrisy talking points in a short period of time; witness everything he said about golf being the indicator of an unserious Obama, yet playing impressive amounts of golf.

DJP is right of course, but the goal is getting rid of these fuckers/politically crippling them. The actual rationale behind it - unappetizing as it may be - is secondary. Have to use the most effective weapons available.

Lol, and of course Greenwald is over this as well. The difference is, though, that Sessions said he was there as Armed Services Committee member, which makes no sense. McCaskill there in a meeting on adoptions, which does. So one is lying, and one is forgetting.

His denials are so strange and contradictory and circular and really suspicious. He's been given numerous outs already and he keeps twisting and weaseling.

I'm not sure I understand this post, but no, they probably don't. That's exactly the point, McCaskill's claim was to debunk that Sessions would meet the ambassador as an Armed Services Committee member, so that she meets him on adoptions doesn't disprove that point, no?

A lie requires intention. Sessions should have left it that he was not aware. But then he came out and said he had no contact with Russia.

Legally it muddies the water somewhat but that is what a bad lawyer Sessions is.
