I can't believe anyone was once worried about him tweeting too much. I want him to tweet more!

Josh in Chicago, Saturday, 4 March 2017 15:28 (seven years ago) link

big question here is whether this is purely a baseless accusation pulled from alt-right media or if there are actual transcripts about to drop containing details of Trump and team's communications with Russia and Trump is trying to get out in front of it

Al Moon Faced Poon (Moodles), Saturday, 4 March 2017 15:33 (seven years ago) link

He's the best leaker of all, really.

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 4 March 2017 15:35 (seven years ago) link

Entertaining though those are, we shouldn't sleep on his other tweets:

Just out: The same Russian Ambassador that met Jeff Sessions visited the Obama White House 22 times, and 4 times last year alone.

Andrew Farrell, Saturday, 4 March 2017 15:41 (seven years ago) link

i don't think it's fair that the white house should have been meeting with envoys of foreign governments, if it's not okay the trump campaign met with them. why is everyone so unfair to poor donald? where's the birth certificate?

reggie (qualmsley), Saturday, 4 March 2017 15:43 (seven years ago) link

No one told him he had to be presidential on the weekends too.

I think it's the latter, although this wouldn't be his first paranoid delusion.

Really hope the "Russia" story comes to some kind of conclusion. Very worried it's been trumpeted too much at the expense of other, more legitimate angles such as his refusal to divest, and that when this is over the national consensus will be that the Democrats led a Benghazi-esque witch hunt. Dems can't weather that kind of transparent sleaziness the way Republicans can.

Treeship, Saturday, 4 March 2017 16:04 (seven years ago) link

Graham is being yelled at but if you listen to his whole thing on this his point is completely legitimate, which is that, if Obama actually did wiretap Trump, he did so with judicial approval, which means there was some evidence for a crime, which is a big deal

akm, Saturday, 4 March 2017 16:07 (seven years ago) link

30 minutes after the wiretapping tweets, he tweeted something gloating about arnold schwarzenegger's bad tv ratings

which suggests that he didn't exactly uncover something monumental

Andrew Farrell, Saturday, 4 March 2017 16:18 (seven years ago) link

Details are irrelevant tbh

Οὖτις, Saturday, 4 March 2017 16:25 (seven years ago) link

I don't usually go for these twitter stories, but this one pretty clearly laYsidro out the facts behind Trump's FISA rants.

The tweets/news today also make me wonder again about what Chris Coons said to Andrea Mitchell yesterday on MSNBC, that he believes the FBI has transcripts that “provide critical insights into whether or not Russian intelligence and senior Russian political leaders, including Vladimir Putin, were cooperating - were colluding - with the campaign at the highest levels to influence the outcome of the election.”

When Andrea Mitchell asked for clarification that these transcripts in fact exist, Coons said “I have not seen them. I believe they exist.”

I thought the statement had enough ambiguity about content as to be not that significant, but lot of people seemed to react to that as if it were big news.

I guess we can now expect a roll back of federal regulations on vehicle pollution and a dismantling of the Clean Power Plan.

According to the NYT, “the E.P.A. will also begin legal proceedings to revoke a waiver for California that was allowing the state to enforce the tougher tailpipe standards for its drivers.” S. William Becker, the executive director of the National Association of Clean Air Agencies, predicted that “if this administration goes after the California waiver, there will be an all-out brawl between Trump and California and the other states that will defend its program.”

Dan S, Saturday, 4 March 2017 23:28 (seven years ago) link

I realize regulation has been a bad word for years but like their approach to terrorism = keep em out by any means necessary 1 terror death is too many and w/ everything else it's "the market will respond" no natter how many folk have to oeace out first
