this little detail from the NYT story is insane:

I hate to break it to you but party affiliation/registration is like an actual box on a form and he has not checked it. He is registered as an Independent in the current session. He caucuses with the Democrats. He is not a Democrat.

afaik his main rationale for not wanting to officially be a Democrat is that he doesn't want to be on the hook for fundraising/organizing on behalf of the party.

I think this new travel ban shows real openmindedness and flexibility on the part of the administration. They're clearly paying attention to the fact that Iraq has scaled back their near-nonstop terrorist attacks on our country over the past several weeks and they're willing to reward them accordingly. It's refreshing.

I can only hope that the other six countries will take note and end their inhumane barrage of hate and carnage on US targets.
