Ah ha ha ha, that's beautiful. I don't know how many times I've used that tactic at work with people who issue terse 'follow-ups' on projects they neglected to inform me of in the first place. 'Please forward your original request, as it's crucial that we figure out how this fell through the cracks.'

after the ACA gets revised and passes and ten million people lose coverage and the plans are these garbage skinny plans with 25k deductibles and the high risk pool costs too much for anybody to participate in, Trump will probably launch and investigation: "Where are my plans? These aren't the plans I promised. What did you do with them?"

Seems like Graham is someone the Dems should start working on. There's at least a little wiggle room with that dude.

xpost yeah it is, it points out that the DOJ has the means to actually put an end to the speculation and Trump himself could declassify any data he was aware of. Lindsey and Sheldon both know the response they're going to get and it will be hilarious.

so Trump and Melania are having the Cruzes over for dinner tonight.

I would be willing to forgive, say, three terrible things Trump has done if he would serve them soup for dinner.

Ugh, just when I thought I couldn't have any less respect for Cruz.

how long do we think before we have another Pizzagate scenario where a civilian hears fake news and nearly or actually kills someone because of it? I'm not even talking the hate crimes that have escalated under this Presidency, I'm talking phony bullshit news either perpetuated by Trump or his cronies at Breitbart that have caused unstable idiots to do things?

It's possible that this will be Pizzagate again, though it doesn't really fit the 'perpetuated by Trump or Brietbart' description.

many republicans (and some democrats) would welcome an ISIS-sponsored attack on U.S. soil followed by an escalation of war against ISIS (boots on the ground) because it would boost favorability for their party and distract from domestic issues, like what's (not) happening with The World's Greatest Healthcare Plan of 2017.

in a similar but real DMX vein.. one of the victims of the hate crime in kansas city was named Srinivas Kuchibhotla but the pic they used for him in a local news report graphic was actually of Sri Srinivasan, currently court of appeals judge and liberal Supreme Court candidate should we ever have a dem president again. kind of a big fuckup nobody but a nerd like me noticed.

Seems like Graham is someone the Dems should start working on.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) faced jeers from a town hall crowd in Clemson, S.C. on Saturday after he said he “mostly” agrees with President Trump's agenda.

“I’m going to try to help our president, Donald Trump, be as successful as possible because, number one, I agree with him mostly and I’d like to get this country moving again,” Graham said.

The crowd responded with audible boos.

Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 8 March 2017 20:36 (seven years ago) link

Graham is all talk

Οὖτις, Wednesday, 8 March 2017 20:38 (seven years ago) link

That 'mostly' is about as much as we can hope for from a GOP-er atm, but it's a start. The boos just need to get louder.

Until someone gets the boot then it's all talk on both sides.

Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 8 March 2017 20:40 (seven years ago) link

I do think there's a chance that, foreign policy-wise, something really damning leaks and McCain and Graham turn on him, but it will have to be pretty spectacular

god these fucksticks really are going to play chicken with our entire healthcare system, aren't they? Trump can't back down because he has to look like the guy who Gets Things Done. and all the seemingly "principled" GOP legislators are petrified of a presidential Twitter rebuke. not saying this is definitely how things will go but seeing it all laid out this way, it's depressingly plausible.

are we really left with cheering on Bannon's sheer insanity? strange bedfellows.

b) can someone c+p the article here
