I assume Trump plays himself.

Trump to be played by several small children stuffed into an adult-sized suit

I love that the White House philosophy is "if you aren't wiretapping, how do you know about all the terrible things we did?"

HBO should cast Trump and Clinton as themselves.

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 9 March 2017 23:53 (seven years ago) link

For somw reason I hope they're played by extremely young, preposterously Hollywoodized versions of themselves. A Chris Hemsworth Trump would be funny, maybe, if it is even possible to wring humor out of this anymore.

Fuck no re: Arnie

CA GOP is desperate for any shred of relevance outside of the house majority leader from Bako

carthago delenda est (mayor jingleberries), Friday, 10 March 2017 00:09 (seven years ago) link

Arnold more likely to run as an independent though.

I hate Feinstein and want her to retire but Arnie wouldn't be much of an improvement. If he ran I could easily see him winning tho.

Οὖτις, Friday, 10 March 2017 00:12 (seven years ago) link

Maybe? I dunno.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 10 March 2017 00:13 (seven years ago) link

feinstein is horrible, one of the only democrats I ever went out of my way to vote against, but I don't know that I would bring myself to do that if he ran. i'd vote green or some shit. one of the few cases where both options are just as shit.

akm, Friday, 10 March 2017 00:22 (seven years ago) link

The big problem arnie presents is who he would caucus with

Οὖτις, Friday, 10 March 2017 00:24 (seven years ago) link

His caucus will require a lot of helping hands

"Schwarzenegger, who as governor pursued political reforms including the “top two” primary system and a redistricting commission, has recently launched a major drive to end gerrymandering, a tradition he argues has benefited only partisan politics and gridlock — not the voters."

Any politician that could get something like that done in national politics would be a hero. I can't see anyone actually being able to get the surrounding vampires to actually agree to do something as such, but damn you could hope.

Former Trump Advisor Roger Stone Was In Contact with a Russian Hacker During the Election

The contact between Roger Stone, the Trump associate, and the Russian influence operation came via private messages exchanged on Twitter, according to a source. Stone’s contact was with “Guccifer 2.0,” an online persona that U.S. officials say was created by Russian government officials to distribute and publicize material stolen during hacks of the DNC, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and Gmail accounts used by Clinton staffers like John Podesta, the campaign's chairman.

Pushing a Smoking Gun reveal towards the mainstream media. Alas, Stone is a creep to the bone, which provides his employers plausible deniability.

CNN was/is really all over the Trump Tower computer thing tonight.

Josh in Chicago, Friday, 10 March 2017 02:34 (seven years ago) link

That's nice. If it catches on as a story, all the other media outlets, including FOX and WSJ, will feel compelled to jump in.

Problem I'm having with the Trump Org / Alpha Bank computer thing is that it feels like old news.

Sanpaku, Friday, 10 March 2017 03:49 (seven years ago) link

Old news that was ignored in its old context may become new again in a new context.

a little too mature to be cute (Aimless), Friday, 10 March 2017 03:53 (seven years ago) link

That's just it, it was old news, but apparently there are questions that remain, and the investigation hasn't shut the door on it.

Josh in Chicago, Friday, 10 March 2017 04:24 (seven years ago) link

Considering the donation of tens of millions by Dick DeVos to 2016 campaign coffers, I'm particularly looking forward to revelations on the Trump Org server's connections to his firm Spectrum Health. Alfa Bank and Spectrum Health accounted for 99+% of the traffic on the Trump Org server.

Crossing my fingers that we'll see the entire DeVos clan (and associates like Erik Prince) get caught laundering Russian oligarch money into GOP campaign funds, facilitated by Trump's whole clan.

We're in the all dump, all the time period now.

it is kinda hilarious seeing the Hannity types immediately scream for Obama investigation after Trump's evidence-less allegation whereas they're all "pump the brakes, this is all circumstantial" when it comes to Russia. which, y'know, actually has some evidence worth investigating.

waht, I am true black metal worrior (Neanderthal), Friday, 10 March 2017 15:39 (seven years ago) link

wow, Trump down to -4 approval rating on Rasmussen poll that just came out.

For reference, his approval was highest on this poll (cos they've always had a Republican lean) and he started out at around +10. Pretty big swing, in line with the swings the other pollsters have shown.
