Would Ryan be liable for obstructing the course of justice by not replacing a suspect investigator? Or is suspect purely subjective, just on a wide scale.

The catch with Ryan is that he's such an ideologue that he naturally gravitates towards sweeping unpopular positions which can't get the support - but if he ever gets one to work it will be terrible.

Nunes scrapped a Tuesday public hearing on Russia to hold a private briefing with FBI Director James Comey and National Security Agency Director Mike Rogers, prompting outcry from Democrats who wanted the issue of the Trump campaign's alleged ties to the Kremlin to remain in public view.

But Comey and Rogers opted not to brief the panel amid the furor within the committee over how to proceed with its investigation.

The full committee typically meets at least twice a week and it's uncertain if those meetings will be rescheduled.

interesting that all this news about Sally Yates has come out today. Last night Jeremy Bash was on The 11th Hour saying that this entire recent run of inexplicable Nunes behavior was an elaborately choreographed gag order on Yates, an excuse to cancel her appearance before the house intelligence committee this week, to prevent her from testifying about something she knows about Flynn/Trump/Russia
