it was better imo

ya acid rap is still his best by far
― flopson, Monday, 10 July 2017 23:31 (six years ago) link
Acid Rap >>>>>>>>>>>> Coloring Book >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> his management
― the Rain Man of nationalism. (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 11 July 2017 00:30 (six years ago) link
He's his own management basically lol

despite thinking acid rap is best i think he has grown as an artist and have full belief he will best it soon. my main problem w colouring book is tempo and pacing; i love chance's giddy ecstatic overwhelming embrace the world energy and while doing a gospel album could've channeled that, instead lots of the tracks dragged
― flopson, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 01:25 (six years ago) link
more preacher man vibes than like, explosive jubilant chorus
― flopson, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 01:31 (six years ago) link
both so great it doesn't really matter to me.
― Van Horn Street, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 01:34 (six years ago) link
however, kinda wish sunday candy was somewhere in coloring book.
― Van Horn Street, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 01:35 (six years ago) link
i still think sunday candy is the best thing he's ever done
― voodoo chili, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 03:26 (six years ago) link
coloring book is pretty good but acid rap towers over it. but i also think acid rap is a GOAT record so
coloring book is a success tho simply for birthing a legitimate chart/rap chart hit and with a song that is legit good and doesn't betray his ethos/sound really at all
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 11 July 2017 04:09 (six years ago) link
everyone loves him so i figure i'm just wrong but i find both albums completely uninteresting.
― alpine static, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 04:53 (six years ago) link
the song w/ wayne and 2 chainz is pretty weak imo
― Listen to my homeboy Fantano (D-40), Tuesday, 11 July 2017 08:06 (six years ago) link
also, he gets killed on his own shit
well that is true -- but it's a very good song that was a hit
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 11 July 2017 12:46 (six years ago) link
ok fine I will listen to Acid Rap again
I really love the grownup gospel positivity vibez of Coloring Book, he doesn't put a foot wrong on it imo
― Οὖτις, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 15:39 (six years ago) link
Huh yeah acid rap is better, just the rhymes alone
― Οὖτις, Wednesday, 12 July 2017 14:38 (six years ago) link
I found it interesting that Chance the Rapper is so popular and yet most of his music is really unavailable in any hard format. It is a unique and modern way of controlling his own content.

I got my Grammys in the mail. Thank you everyone who made this music with me, especially this girl right here. #ColoringBook #BestRapAlbum #butitwasamixtape #IDidItWithGod #ChanceTebow 🤷🏽♀️ pic.twitter.com/LLFB8PGzcf— Lil Chano From 79th (@chancetherapper) October 19, 2017

Wala Cam is incredible
― JB, Friday, 20 July 2018 08:29 (five years ago) link
surely "I Might Need Security" is the standout? Strong lyrics, fun use of the sample
Wala Cam lyrics sound very freestyled
― niels, Friday, 20 July 2018 09:22 (five years ago) link
don't really care for I Might Need Security but the other 3 (especially Wala Cam) are great and better than most of Coloring Book
― ufo, Saturday, 21 July 2018 16:47 (five years ago) link
feel pretty good about these after more listens... “wala cam” is rly good
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 21 July 2018 18:43 (five years ago) link
work out is dope too, might need security sample is fun but his punchlines are kinda wack
strike the "sometimes" for me

Acid Rap and 10Day now on Spotify.
Haven't listened to 10Day in a very long time, but I can't imagine that it's aged too well. Its best song, "Windows," is the one song they couldn't clear I guess.

LOL, apparently there was a 5-foot alligator (!) sighted in one of Chicago's park lagoons (where I just went paddle boating a couple of weeks ago). Inevitably, it has been dubbed Chance the Snapper, and it has a twitter account.
― Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 11 July 2019 19:00 (four years ago) link
Ugh I hated that. It’s so corny and doesn’t even make sense. Snappers are fish or turtles. Chance is from Chatham not humboldt park. I feel like the motivation for the name was some weird bourgie anxiety abt a “rough area” projected onto the rapper who soothes those anxieties for ppl
― ILX’s bad boy (D-40), Thursday, 11 July 2019 19:44 (four years ago) link
Huh. I thought it was just something that rhymed with "Rapper." I was a big fan of "Romancing the Stone" when I was a kid, and the bad guy in that movie has an alligator pit, and he's aways saying "look at those snappers!"
