What's sad is that I kind of loved Long when he was a player. He seemed sort of wild eyed and a bit weird (I mean not compared to like Lyle Alzado or Bill Romanowski, but still a kinda off.) But now he's like so fucking "aw shucks I just like shilling so darn much" that I just want to see the guy's face get mangled.

My favorite part of the Dwight/Dwyane/Chuck commercial is just the exasperated way Dwight says "Aghhh!" at the end. It's like he's this seven foot tall fourth grader.

Which if you see him interviewed he kind of seems like.

Yeah, I think people just hate on Kobes for having that air, plus a smugness to him. I didn't really see that in those other guys. Sort of a pretty boy hatred type thing. Add to that his three rings, his avoidance of a rape charge, and the fact that he's really rich and an international superstar, and people got some hateration going towards him.

This - it's his pretty boy sense of entitlement thing that makes me hate him. I don't even remember the rape charge anymore and only mention it for shits and giggles. But it's his sort of solipsistic, "I am the best and only player in the universe" attitude that is just obnoxious and repellent. Also his whole MJ-aping "But I'm not aping MJ!" thing. Really? Man, I'm still fucking stunned. Seriously, how the FUCK did the Cavs lose this game?? Aside from Alston and Lewis hitting those corner threes on the same goddamn play every... single... fucking... time.

I thought all six of the fouls on Dwight Howard were bullshit, btw.

they lost because their offense in the second half became their offense from two years ago, and because howard is a terrible matchup for them.

I turned this game off after the first quarter and then went out drinking, and I'm SHOCKED to find out the Cavs lost.

So uh I'm thinking its actually NOT a good idea to play Lebron 48 minutes a night.

Last two Howard fouls (the ones on Lebron at the basket IIRC) were pretty legit. He was def. in the air and leaning over him for the block when the contact occurred. They'll get you for that. The other four were pretty BS and I watched a couple of seconds of the game on the Dwight cam online and Howard was getting manhandled.

Pretty surprising that Cavs only had 5 turnovers the entire game. As I was watching I could have sworn it was way more than that.

Of all people, I should have seen through the coronation blitz and realized that Orlando had a great shot to win this series. Unfortunately, I picked Cleveland to emerge in five games.

As I was writing Tuesday's story on how the Magic had carved up the Cavs during the regular season, I immediately began getting a sinking feeling that perhaps I had screwed up. The Magic's point differential during the second half of the season wasn't anywhere close to Cleveland's, but as we've learned countless times, the playoffs are all about matchups.
