:)to all the haters

:-) x-post

Still thinking Lakers in 6. No way Orlando shoots that poorly over the whole series.

Jameer Nelson = scary, too.

Two Will Get You Three (B.L.A.M.), Friday, 5 June 2009 15:35 (fourteen years ago) link

Agreeing on all points; they looked pretty competitive for the first quarter and then they went ice cold for what felt like ten minutes.

pending echeques (forksclovetofu), Friday, 5 June 2009 17:13 (fourteen years ago) link

Orlando without 3s falling is not much to look at.

Timely Onion Playoff Coverage

Two Will Get You Three (B.L.A.M.), Friday, 5 June 2009 18:55 (fourteen years ago) link

that game was boring as hell beyond a couple of epic kobe moves, at least to someone who doesn't care who wins this series

gangsta hug (omar little), Friday, 5 June 2009 19:02 (fourteen years ago) link

Great to watch first quarter, then thank god for tivo.

This Ace of Base is driving me crazy (forksclovetofu), Friday, 5 June 2009 19:05 (fourteen years ago) link

Hey guys, it's like a real game now

death from abroad (lukas), Monday, 8 June 2009 01:35 (fourteen years ago) link

Oops, you missed it

death from abroad (lukas), Monday, 8 June 2009 01:41 (fourteen years ago) link

there's something joyless about this series, is it just me?

collardio gelatinous, Monday, 8 June 2009 01:48 (fourteen years ago) link

Yeah

death from abroad (lukas), Monday, 8 June 2009 02:06 (fourteen years ago) link

Up until a couple of minutes ago, there was no sense of flow. Like two people in an argument talking past each other.

death from abroad (lukas), Monday, 8 June 2009 02:15 (fourteen years ago) link

i'm trying to remember the last finals series that i honestly enjoyed. other than the pistons beating the lakers in 04 i don't think i've really enjoyed the finals in this entire decade.

heh yes, this is harold pinter basketball. xp

collardio gelatinous, Monday, 8 June 2009 02:21 (fourteen years ago) link

i enjoyed the celtics crazy comeback game last year tho xp

collardio gelatinous, Monday, 8 June 2009 02:22 (fourteen years ago) link

I loved the Heat-Mavs series, but I had a rooting interest. Last year's Finals, too, for that matter.

Daniel, Esq., Monday, 8 June 2009 02:23 (fourteen years ago) link

Basically, when teams I like win, I like the Finals. I'm shallow that way.

Daniel, Esq., Monday, 8 June 2009 02:23 (fourteen years ago) link

yeah i could see the joy, especially for celtics fans, in last year's series -- and my lakers schadenfreude knows no bounds -- but i couldn't really get into that celtics team. i have issues with teams that are just thrown together and not like built and grown together over years, it just rings a little false with me. but that's my thing.

a short guy with a lot of power (Clay), Monday, 8 June 2009 02:25 (fourteen years ago) link

i was on the road during the heat/mavs series, so i don't think i saw a single game! but i think the officiating issues with that series that have been documented pretty rigorously over the years since would have driven me crazy. and i really wanted stern to be forced to hand cuban the trophy. would have been a spectacular moment.

a short guy with a lot of power (Clay), Monday, 8 June 2009 02:27 (fourteen years ago) link

i can see what you're saying, the whole idea of "buying a championship" and all that, but the c's last year, led by kg, made a concerted effort from day one to gel and become a real team xp

collardio gelatinous, Monday, 8 June 2009 02:28 (fourteen years ago) link

oh they absolutely did, i don't discount their championship at all. but from the beginning of the season i had a bit of a grudge against them because of the way they were constructed.

this all sort of began for me when payton and malone decided to ride shaq and kobe for a ring in 04 (lol @ how that worked out) and it just seemed completely hollow to me. and the c's weren't doing that, like i said, i just couldn't get into them. but i respect their win absolutely.
