The German Electronic Foundation stuff is fun, mostly hard-hitting freaky acid techno IIRC. I agree that '90s Burger is more interesting than 2000s Burger, though the synth-pop mix from 2006 I mentioned upthread is really cool, definitely worth checking out if you don't have it already.

Though TBH I think pretty much all of that Köln posse were more interesting in the '90s, when they were doing all this weird-ass acid and ambient and electro experimentation, instead of the more mannered styles where most of them moved later on.

Thanks. I guess not for this thread as it's not Burger specifically but does anyone know why their 90s tracks have a lot of NYC references? Time Square, Empire State Building, Orange Clouds Over Battery Park.? Was there a Cologne / NY collaboration happening in the mid nineties?

I don't really know, but some of their early '90s material was released in the US by Sm:)e, a sublabel of Profile Records, which was set in NYC. And didn't Khan also move there at some point? Or at least he started releasing his solo material on American labels like Caipirinha and Matador.

There was also some kind of connection to DJ Soul Slinger, but I think he's from the west coast?
