yeah, they do these genre things, and even though there's no humour and little story to it all their fans want high res screensavers and avatars from it.

Like honestly if they made "Legend of the Neverwolf" with the protagonist Blacktall Sabretooth in the realm of Infandalrock people would eat that shit up.

i think part of why it's so irritating to find on the penny arcade comic page is that: well, obviously i. a single, static internet page isn't the optimum way of showing much other than a gag strip panel-cartoon; but mainly ii., penny arcade's function is more like 'videogame criticism + dick jokes' than it is 'fiction with many dick jokes'

so it's a bit like finding the book review page dedicated to the first two-thirds-of-a-page of someone's TV pilot script, is the thing

I still like their stuff, and Gabe's art skills are better in general, but I do think they've lost a bit of the energy/wit they used to have. Success tends to do that, though. Definitely good enough to stay in my webcomics RSS folder with the other dozens.

eh L and i had talked abt going for a couple years every time we passed the sville theater in december. was basically a satisfying curiosity thing.

i had no idea what to expect but it was weirdly incoherent and i would never go again.

eh its prob like going to a big lan party or competitive gaming event or something - i know a girl who's been to a few PAXes and she loves em, only has one forearm so she cradles the controller against the stump and controls everything w/one hand
