Yeah, I would have zero problem with a new Celtics dynasty tbh. The Spurs and Lakers are just two of the most odious teams I can even imagine, albeit in different ways. Lakers don't really need explaining, they are just loathsome in a visceral and personal way, everything about them makes me sneer w/disgust; with the Spurs it's more about the poisonously boring, awful brand of basketball they play. I have hella respect for Popovich and some of their players (including Duncan even though he is the most horrible-to-watch great player ever) in a way that I can't even muster for the Lakers. Actually, just thinking about this is almost making me nostalgic for the days of Spurs domination, a sentiment that fills me w/self loathing like the gay dad in American Beauty ;_;

Oh, you mean last year when the team with the most titles in NBA history won again? That was a refreshing change from the norm.

I bet you will enjoy it when the Yankees win again this year you SON OF A BITCH. ;-)

tho actually i was just wondering about this - could i have rooted for that same team if they were wearing purple and gold? I think I really would've been able to somewhat, at least if phil jackson wasn't involved - i just love ray allen and kg that dang much and it would've been gratifying to see them win like that on any team, but it was just better by magnitudes that it ended with the celtics cornholing the lakers

Nothing could inspire me to root for the Celtics. My hatred of their laundry was ingrained from such a young age. Whereas I don't even want to like the Lakers, but I almost can't help myself from rooting for them. Fandom is a strange thing.

yeah i hate the lakers with a passion, kobe's gameface underbite was terrible, much-beloved derek fisher seems like a dbag imo, i could go on

really beyond a bulls championship i would have loved nothing more than to see yao and artest smiling and clutching the trophy this year but oh well

yeah, it's funny but i was watching the rockets lakers series with more interest than any of the hawks' series - was pullin for those dudes p hard
