The older actor isn’t named but Douglas’s name has kept coming up in the last few years, feels like an open secret - looking on twitter today it seems wood’s sister talked about it on a podcast recently and said she would reveal the name of the rapist once he had died. I’m sure there were lots of still-living actors of the period she could have been referring to other than the guy everyone says it is tho

I saw The Bad and the Beautiful on Criterion Channel for the first time since the Poppy Bush years. Jeez, is it garish – Sirk without the irony (and of course co-starring Lana Turner). Douglas is a compelling force; every other performance is awful.
