The endless victim complex, just like Trump. I would say this narcissistic reflexive defensiveness in these individual leaders is predictable enough that it must make them fairly easy to manipulate for those with the proper skillset.

This is taking them at face value tho! They might truly be like that, Trump I'd certainly assume so, but they are also playing into the fascist rulebook, their base needs to be convinced that everyone is against them at all times and that they are the only protection against the traitors within. It registers as narcisism to us but it gets the job done.
