if he were already at the 104 bWAR as we re-calculated given better injury luck, that would move him to 175, second all time. It's still short of Ruth (182.6) but really close.

as much as there is a lot of what-if w/Trout, he's still a pretty formidable player when healthy and as a hitter there's more room for adjustment as he ages even after dealing w/many injuries. there's time for him to add to his stats (he's not old!) It's going to be interesting to watch what happens. i think overall Bryce Harper has probably been more of a what-if but the #winning has helped distract from that.

of course these guys are both (*probably* in Bryce's case) HOFers, unlike other worst-case what-ifs like Mark Prior.

Trout should also move to 1B
