who is your nearest ilx neighbour?

i think, for me, it must be either mark s or dave q

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 16 January 2003 11:38 (twenty-three years ago)

define your parameters. geographically? aesthetically? alphabetically? emotionally?

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 16 January 2003 11:39 (twenty-three years ago)

Not sure, probably Andrew L, maybe Ricky T and Katie.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 16 January 2003 11:40 (twenty-three years ago)

do we have any other liverpudlians here?

michael wells (michael w.), Thursday, 16 January 2003 11:41 (twenty-three years ago)

From what I can gather from other threads then I'm not a million miles away from the Hackney/Dalston posse that you mention Gareth (I'm in Stamford Hill now) but I don't know if there's anyone closer.

James Ball (James Ball), Thursday, 16 January 2003 11:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Arshmonkay, E-wing, HOPKINS I shd expect...

But if this was "Cast the ILX Neighbours", I would be the amusing pet sheep called "Casserole". Probably.

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 16 January 2003 11:46 (twenty-three years ago)

That would be Vicky, other than that, probably Mark S or maybe Mr Ball there.

chris (chris), Thursday, 16 January 2003 11:47 (twenty-three years ago)

andrew server guy. he lives just around the corner

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Thursday, 16 January 2003 11:50 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm in between Liverpool and Manchester, so anyone coming from these 2 cities will be my neighbours

Fuzzy (Fuzzy), Thursday, 16 January 2003 11:52 (twenty-three years ago)

There must be someone else who lives somewhere in Essex. Although I don't expect them to admit it.

SittingPretty (sittingpretty), Thursday, 16 January 2003 11:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Emma (about ten feet), then Carsmile and Anna. Marianna isn't a million miles away and nor is Johnnie.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 16 January 2003 11:53 (twenty-three years ago)

If it was Cast the ILX Neighbours, I'd probably end up being Lance or someone like that.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 16 January 2003 11:53 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't know my answer. my first thought was madchen in uniform but that's not actually correct.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 16 January 2003 11:54 (twenty-three years ago)

physically i may be closest to nick gabba k-reg, who is based in mare street i think
then gareth

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 16 January 2003 11:54 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm guessing, gareth, its you then mark s.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 16 January 2003 11:54 (twenty-three years ago)

i thought nick was in w12?

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 16 January 2003 11:55 (twenty-three years ago)

K-reg is def w12

Ed (dali), Thursday, 16 January 2003 11:59 (twenty-three years ago)

fuzzy comes from st helens or warrington. or maybe leigh or haydock.

michael wells (michael w.), Thursday, 16 January 2003 12:04 (twenty-three years ago)

I reckon Sam Chirombo and I live a little more than a quarter of a mile apart.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 16 January 2003 12:05 (twenty-three years ago)

CJ the Unruly, followed by Rebecca. Considering that I've been in Oxford since autumn 1993, there are lot of ILX bods who have been my neighbours, many without me knowing them at the time....

MarkH (MarkH), Thursday, 16 January 2003 12:12 (twenty-three years ago)

oh, maybe he works in mare street then

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 16 January 2003 12:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Archel I think is the nearest I know of. Any Hampshire/W. Sussex/Surrey/Dorset ILXers I don't know about?

robster (robster), Thursday, 16 January 2003 12:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes I was going to say Tim. Where do you live anyway? I live near the Heaton Arms.

Sam (chirombo), Thursday, 16 January 2003 12:24 (twenty-three years ago)

i think toby once said something about kilburn, so him

zemko (bob), Thursday, 16 January 2003 12:34 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm only 7/8 miles from Kilburn myself...i think jel is also close (west london?)

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 16 January 2003 12:36 (twenty-three years ago)

erik i guess.

stevo (stevo), Thursday, 16 January 2003 12:38 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't know. Who lives closest to Lewisham/Blackheath?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 16 January 2003 12:38 (twenty-three years ago)

"That would be Vicky, other than that, probably Mark S or maybe Mr Ball there."

Where are you then, chris?

James Ball (James Ball), Thursday, 16 January 2003 12:43 (twenty-three years ago)

i've never met any ilxers bar ronan, who i'm in college with. he mightn't be my closest neighbour, though, there's prob at least one Dubliner who lives closer to me than him. i have no idea.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Thursday, 16 January 2003 12:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Pete, I moved closer to you! I live on Crescent Road now.

marianna, Thursday, 16 January 2003 12:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Sam, I live near where the East Dulwich Rd hits the Rye. Nearest pub = White Horse if that helps.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 16 January 2003 12:55 (twenty-three years ago)

(sounds like less than quarter of a mile)

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 16 January 2003 12:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Okay, all the North London-Hertfordshire boonie-dwellers, it's time to represent. I need some new friends. Just shout "ciabatta"!

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Thursday, 16 January 2003 13:01 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah, stevem, I'm in West London! Near Ealing!

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 16 January 2003 13:12 (twenty-three years ago)

James, we're in Walthamstow.

chris (chris), Thursday, 16 January 2003 13:14 (twenty-three years ago)

I think Carsmile is closest, being just up the way on the 210 bus route from my chateau in Finsbury Park. Fairly close to Stamford Hill, though, so I could be wrong.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 16 January 2003 13:25 (twenty-three years ago)

MarkH, what about me-eEEE???

MarkH

Graham (graham), Thursday, 16 January 2003 13:30 (twenty-three years ago)

fields of salmon. but hes a fucking rock star and im a lowly writer.

anthony easton (anthony), Thursday, 16 January 2003 13:31 (twenty-three years ago)

I think it might be andrew L (after his move).

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 16 January 2003 13:33 (twenty-three years ago)

My nearest pub is the White Horse too (i live on Relf Road). K-blimey I share a local with an ILXor! We'll have to have a Peckham FAP.

Sam (chirombo), Thursday, 16 January 2003 13:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Lixi is directly above me. Then Sarah a little to the right of her. Beyond that I really don't know - my S London geographical knowledge is still pretty feeble.

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 16 January 2003 13:38 (twenty-three years ago)

There must be someone else who lives somewhere in Essex. Although I don't expect them to admit it.

hello. i have no shame, so i admit it.
i am from the southendy area.

g-kit (g-kit), Thursday, 16 January 2003 13:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Ooh Fuzzy, how near are you to North Salford?

Graham (graham), Thursday, 16 January 2003 13:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Ed is forgetting Suzy, who is 2 feet away and me, who is 10 feet away. But I guess we don't count... waaahhhhhh!!!

I think Gareth is closest to us, actually. Mark S was a lot closer to my old house.

kate, Thursday, 16 January 2003 13:46 (twenty-three years ago)

i think toby once said something about kilburn, so him

yeah, i live in willesden. doesn't seem to be much of a NW-london contingent, does there?

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 16 January 2003 13:51 (twenty-three years ago)

or a south-east london one?

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 16 January 2003 13:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Sam and I are holding strong for the SE15, Julio, and at least two other SE postcode dwellers come to mind.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 16 January 2003 14:00 (twenty-three years ago)

what about YOU-ooooooooooo, Graham?

MarkH (MarkH), Thursday, 16 January 2003 14:05 (twenty-three years ago)

What about me? I live here now.

Graham (graham), Thursday, 16 January 2003 14:10 (twenty-three years ago)

A quick glance at the A to Z confirms that I'm closer to Finsbury Park than Hackney or Walthamstow, so probably Liz.

James Ball (James Ball), Thursday, 16 January 2003 14:12 (twenty-three years ago)

My nearest neighbour is the Dirty Vicar but he doesn't know this.

*shhhh*

Lara, Thursday, 16 January 2003 14:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Would have to be Alex in Mainhattan, but I have no idea what part of town he lives in.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Thursday, 16 January 2003 14:14 (twenty-three years ago)

J.Lu, you live in DC, right? If so, then J.Lu it is.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 16 January 2003 14:14 (twenty-three years ago)

hello. i have no shame, so i admit it.
i am from the southendy area.

Then you are very probably my nearest ILX neighbour, g-kit. I've lived in Soldier Town for seven years, now.

SittingPretty (sittingpretty), Thursday, 16 January 2003 14:20 (twenty-three years ago)

*Flies very large SE London flag indeed*

Come on, there must be more of you.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 16 January 2003 14:24 (twenty-three years ago)

I've lived in Soldier Town for seven years, now.

forgive my naive ignorance... i assume you mean colchester and not some place i never heard of? or am i stooopid? (incidently, yes, yes i am)

g-kit (g-kit), Thursday, 16 January 2003 14:31 (twenty-three years ago)

There used to be someone else from Winnipeg here, but I think she's either gone or just not posting anymore. I think there are some people in Saskatchewan; Horace Mann? "A lone voice on the lonely prairie."

Bryan (Bryan), Thursday, 16 January 2003 14:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Depending on the part of Crescent Road Marianna you may be closer to use than Steve is (ie top part of Crescent near countryside walk, definately, PArt near the dodgy Sauna - its getting close).

Crouch End is the spiritual home of ILX.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 16 January 2003 14:48 (twenty-three years ago)

It used to be Yanc3y but now I don't know who it is. Yesterday I found out that the guy at work who sits behind me - Norman - used to live @ 69 4th Ave in Brooklyn, one floor above me -- k-strange

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 16 January 2003 14:54 (twenty-three years ago)

"closer to use than Steve" = hehe!

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 16 January 2003 14:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, Pete, the spiritual home of ILX is a place where locals are doomed to spot c-listers in the local pub/cafe/supermarket while counting the days until they settle down with an SO and eventually buy a smug pram. And it's in Zone Three.

In other words, what a depressing thought. ;-).

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 16 January 2003 14:57 (twenty-three years ago)

I bunk down in Streatham. I believe Michael Jones and Mr Swygart live a little further up the 417 route than me. Otherwise, T Ewing is a bus ride away in the Oval and Dr C is a different bus ride away in Twickenham.

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:12 (twenty-three years ago)

ie top part of Crescent near countryside walk, definately,
Yes, that's exactly where I am. Look forward to seeing you in the Sainsbury's Local. Very trendy indeed.

marianna, Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:14 (twenty-three years ago)

I like Crouch End. I like kids too and find c-list celebrities funny so maybe that's my problem. Suzy got fierce!

I don't know who lives closest to me.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Graham can lay claim to being a fellow Sussexer as well as an Oxon, no? And it seems when I am chez the paternal relations, I am a neighbour to Marcello.

Archel (Archel), Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Nearest neighbours are DV and rener. It would have been angela, but she moved, and dropped off the face of ILX.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:21 (twenty-three years ago)

N - I almost do!

Lara (Lara), Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:27 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd much rather live in Crouch end than Clerkenwell. And I don't much like Crouch end particularly.

chris (chris), Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Sorry Suzy, if Tom is the Daddy of ILx then this thread
london town
says definitivel where the spiritual home is.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Taking sides: Baby Sainsburys vs whatever the hell is still open in Clerkenwell post knocking off time...

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Heheeh my boyfriend - only he lurks on the board. :-)

nathalie (nathalie), Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:41 (twenty-three years ago)

Unless there's anyone I've forgotten I think Jel is closest to me. Didn't Alang used to live in Chiswick?

Dr. C (Dr. C), Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:41 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm guessing its Dang Perry for me. 35 minutes away.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:43 (twenty-three years ago)

the people in new york city, but that's several hours of driving.

Maria (Maria), Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:44 (twenty-three years ago)

donut bitch. hi nath!

ron (ron), Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:44 (twenty-three years ago)

My live-in lover.

Tag, Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:45 (twenty-three years ago)

I can't think of anybody even remotely close, if memory serves correct.

Nicole (Nicole), Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Flaneur, is open late but is pretty damn expensive for most things, some things tea, mustard and other odds and sod are good value. Quality is excellent. If you can get out at lunch then the Italian shops rule all I ting Gazano's on the Faringdon Rd by the eagle is open later but I can't remember exactly.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Clerkenwell's only 10 minutes from the Sainsbury's on Liverpool Rd which is 24 hours.

Looking at the 'london town' thread then you might be closest to me, N, if you're still in Stoke Newington. (I'm in Stamford Hill)

James Ball (James Ball), Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Hmm. There must be people nearer to me than Martin Skidmore and Dr C (posibly Alan if it's true about the Chiswick thing). South-west London is VERY NICE, there must be some ILXors within spitting distance of Putney/Barnes/Roehampton?

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:57 (twenty-three years ago)

What about the Nipper?

Lara (Lara), Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Pete and Emma.

I saw Arabella Weir on the Broadway today. (Stereotypes rule!)

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 16 January 2003 15:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Ooh yes, I can claim Archel for my own too.

Graham (graham), Thursday, 16 January 2003 16:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, probably Chris V, unless someone else flies the Boston/Cambridge/Somerville flag and I've just forgotten.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 16 January 2003 16:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Indeed, Putney/Barnes/Roehampton is but yet another bus ride away from me.

I worked at Queen Mary's Hospital in the summer. Roehampton feels like the end of the earth. It is weirdly reminiscent of Headington. Barnes Common seems to separate it from "London." It's like a giant Avengers film set.

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 16 January 2003 16:02 (twenty-three years ago)

I can't think of anybody even remotely close, if memory serves correct.

Andy Kellman? Lives in Detroit, works in Ann Arbor.

As for me, it would have to be either Chris Barrus or stripey, who live about equal distances from me. Beyond that it's the agglomeration of shimmering humanity that is the LA crew, and they know who they are. ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 16 January 2003 16:15 (twenty-three years ago)

My brain doesn't work properly, I keep forgetting things like that.

Nicole (Nicole), Thursday, 16 January 2003 16:19 (twenty-three years ago)

The Amazing Spencer Chow lives just over the hill from me.

chaki (chaki), Thursday, 16 January 2003 16:48 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm from Warrington, well done michael wells.

about 15 miles from N.Salford I would guess

Fuzzy (Fuzzy), Thursday, 16 January 2003 16:54 (twenty-three years ago)

g-kit - absolutely right.

SittingPretty (sittingpretty), Thursday, 16 January 2003 16:59 (twenty-three years ago)

I deduce from the map that Graham must be living somewhere near Denmark Street

C J (C J), Thursday, 16 January 2003 17:02 (twenty-three years ago)

Either mark p or Kim, probably, but maybe the mysterious Fritz. Or dyson possibly.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 16 January 2003 17:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, yes! My live-in bf. Mostly just a lurker. But still an official ILXor for sure.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 16 January 2003 17:05 (twenty-three years ago)

mine = nathalie's boyfriend also! ooh er ;-)

Jeff W, Thursday, 16 January 2003 17:20 (twenty-three years ago)

I live pretty close to Tracer. I'm in Brooklyn Heights -- on a nice day, that's walking distance.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 16 January 2003 17:28 (twenty-three years ago)

I know I'm equidistant from where Sterling lives and where Amateurist works, but I don't know where Amateurist lives; he could be closer.

nabisco (nabisco), Thursday, 16 January 2003 17:41 (twenty-three years ago)

stevo I guess

erik, Thursday, 16 January 2003 17:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Katie is currently about ten feet away. Next nearest must be Alan, in Ladbroke Grove. Magnus is even closer, but he only posted to ILX for about two days sometime back in 2001.

RickyT (RickyT), Thursday, 16 January 2003 19:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Mark C and Marcello... I'm guessing.

The joys of living in zone 6. Still, I should be moving away from Kingston to another part of South West London this year. Any suggestions, Mark?

bert, Thursday, 16 January 2003 19:24 (twenty-three years ago)

SE3 is the place to be...

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 16 January 2003 19:33 (twenty-three years ago)

Felicity Redwell and I live about five blocks from each other--long Manhattan avenues, but still a 20-minute walk.

M Matos (M Matos), Thursday, 16 January 2003 19:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I used to think ILX had an unusually good UK/America balance, but this thread makes it seem like a fairly even LONDON/America split.

Plus me from South Wales.

Oh well.

mei (mei), Thursday, 16 January 2003 19:39 (twenty-three years ago)

i have no idea... who lives near lower haight/duboce park?

gygax!, Thursday, 16 January 2003 19:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Either Nickn in Pasadena or Vic at USC.

Arthur (Arthur), Thursday, 16 January 2003 19:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Keith and Frank K.. and they're 50 miles away.

That rhymed.

Mandee, Thursday, 16 January 2003 20:13 (twenty-three years ago)

If people hate Clerkenwell, they are just as likely to hate me. So I'm quite glad that they don't live anywhere near here.

Didn't Will Self write a story about how when Londoners die, they don't go to heaven or hell but go into a sort of limbo in Crouch End? The North London Book Of The Dead or something? Crouch End is proof that hell is full and the dead are walking the earth?

kate, Thursday, 16 January 2003 20:22 (twenty-three years ago)

As of this weekend my nearest ILX neighbour will be anyone who lives in or near New Cross, (byebye Acton, my kind of town, back in the Sarf London jugg agane hey ho).

Andrew L (Andrew L), Thursday, 16 January 2003 20:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Andy K is one floor away from me at work right now... does that count?

Aaron W (Aaron W), Thursday, 16 January 2003 20:34 (twenty-three years ago)

weathering daleson posts here on occasion. he lives upstairs from me. I'm currently storing gravy in his guitar case.

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Thursday, 16 January 2003 20:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Mark C, you are under a misapprehension somewhere. Dr C lives in Twickenham and I live in East Ham. We can't be the two nearest you. No one has admitted to living in East London yet - I know Chris & Vicky are in Walthamstow, and there's the Shoreditch contigent, but is there really no one else within five miles of me? (My theory is that no one wants to admit living near me.)

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 16 January 2003 20:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Who still lives in Shoreditch? I thought I was the last to leave that hellhole, and I'm hardly a contingent. Are there others?

kate, Thursday, 16 January 2003 20:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Andy K is one floor away from me at work right now... does that count?

Why the hell haven't you told me you work at the AMG, you bum?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 16 January 2003 21:02 (twenty-three years ago)

Ah, I was under the mistaken impression that you, Suzy and Ed lived there, Kate. It's thereabouts isn't it? Hoxton, maybe?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 16 January 2003 21:12 (twenty-three years ago)

(nabisco: i'm in ravenswood)

Amateurist (amateurist), Thursday, 16 January 2003 21:15 (twenty-three years ago)

J.Lu, you live in DC, right? If so, then J.Lu it is.

I'm in DC; Aaron G. is in Alexandria, VA.

j.lu (j.lu), Thursday, 16 January 2003 21:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Hm, why did I imagine Sarah McL was in the north of England? How odd. Perhaps just wishful thinking (I wish everyone on ILX lived in London, really).

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 16 January 2003 21:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Why the hell haven't you told me you work at the AMG, you bum?

Nobody's perfect I guess! Heh.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Thursday, 16 January 2003 21:25 (twenty-three years ago)

I wonder if Essex's county town is nearer to the oldest recorded town in England than the town with the longest pier is?

Mooro (Mooro), Thursday, 16 January 2003 21:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Wasn't the oldest recorded town Malmesbury in Wiltshire, where I used to live? It held some such distinction, anyway. Distance from Colchester must be 150 miles or so.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 16 January 2003 21:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Maybe an inaccurate word (I only drive past that road sign every day). Try Oldest Recorded town in Britain

Mooro (Mooro), Thursday, 16 January 2003 21:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Malmesbury lays claim to being the oldest *borough* in England. Pah! A baby of a town.

Mooro (Mooro), Thursday, 16 January 2003 21:48 (twenty-three years ago)

doorag lives down the hall from me. the next closest would be rainy, followed by menelaus darcy.

di smith (lucylurex), Thursday, 16 January 2003 21:50 (twenty-three years ago)

make menelaus post more, di

famous board-founder DG lives out your way, martin, as does his legendary brother fatnick

(dr vick lives in peckham, the rub mob live in fulham currently)

mark s (mark s), Friday, 17 January 2003 00:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Does anyone live in Finchley Road / Swiss Cottage area?

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Friday, 17 January 2003 01:22 (twenty-three years ago)

I cant figure out who is my nearest ilx neighbour - guess the dunedin ilx troop all live within the psychiatric triangle

ducklingmonster, Friday, 17 January 2003 01:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Chris V and David R are probably the closest

brg30 (brg30), Friday, 17 January 2003 01:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Mine is probably Sean (somewhere just North of Danforth right?). Unless anyone else is closer to the Toronto Harbour?

Kim (Kim), Friday, 17 January 2003 02:19 (twenty-three years ago)

I wish there someone living on top of that big tower in Toronto. This person could tell us stories.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 17 January 2003 02:20 (twenty-three years ago)

They could also see into my apartment if they had a telescope.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 17 January 2003 02:22 (twenty-three years ago)

''As of this weekend my nearest ILX neighbour will be anyone who lives in or near New Cross, (byebye Acton, my kind of town, back in the Sarf London jugg agane hey ho).''

yup, I live abt 15 mins by train from there.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 17 January 2003 10:06 (twenty-three years ago)

g-kit - absolutely right.

cool! you know hirameka hi-fi? they're awesome.

nobody else brave enough to admit being from essex, then?

g-kit (g-kit), Friday, 17 January 2003 10:19 (twenty-three years ago)

I went to Colchester once!

jel -- (jel), Friday, 17 January 2003 10:21 (twenty-three years ago)

I went to Colchester once!

I've been twice!

Colchester - town of ring roads and roundabouts and bad signage for the pedestrian. Bah.

Dave B (daveb), Friday, 17 January 2003 13:13 (twenty-three years ago)

lots of cobblestone roads and dodgy pavements and stuff too. bad for the skateboarder.

g-kit (g-kit), Friday, 17 January 2003 13:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Oops, sorry Martin, it was the potential meeting in Fulham thing that confused me. And Twickenham is fairly near - I cycle to it quite regularly (in the summer).

Apologies to Jerry the Nipper too - when we're both in bed we're about 15 feet away from each other.

Bert - if you can afford it, I can't speak highly enough of Putney or Barnes if you like it quieter and mor chic. If you';re happy to be a bit of a way out, the East Sheen/Mortlake is pretty decent; by Richmond (a bit pricey) you're already in zone 4.

There are nice bits of Roehampton, but unless you're right at my end you're miles from tubes or trains. Southfields/Wimbledon Park is good if you want middle-class suburbia and can deal with the district line. Yooting has character and is gentrifying; Colliers Wood is the new Tooting. Wandsworth is getting more central, and there are still affordable parts, though they're not likely to be all that nice.

Mark C (Mark C), Friday, 17 January 2003 15:33 (twenty-three years ago)

haha now i have an image of jerry and mark in a HUGE bed (as etched by gustav doré), with loads of careful space left between them just in case!!

mark s (mark s), Friday, 17 January 2003 15:35 (twenty-three years ago)

Is there anything resembling an ILx Midlands contingent?

Ferg (Ferg), Friday, 17 January 2003 17:30 (twenty-three years ago)

fucked up, i forgot that DUCKLING lives closer to me than rainy. mark s: i constantly try, but she will have not a bar of it.

di smith (lucylurex), Saturday, 18 January 2003 09:19 (twenty-three years ago)

graham, you live about three streets up from where i used to live. have you moved into the magic cafe?

i can almost see pete and emma's house out of the window next to my computer.

N. lives in glasgae now.

i was thinking of the nipper and the kaiser like this...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Saturday, 18 January 2003 11:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Helltime Producto is closest, and then apparently Sarah McLusky, J.Lu and anybody else in DC/Baltimore/MD/NoVA area.
God forbid we ever hold a FAP.

Tom Millar (Millar), Saturday, 18 January 2003 17:19 (twenty-three years ago)

I suppose it's N. Although, he lives 27 miles away.

Cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 18 January 2003 19:34 (twenty-three years ago)

There's a few of us in Ormskirk, Lynskey is about 6 ft away. Robin, Matt and Jarlmai are around 5 minutes walk away. So I guess we're also close-ish to michael wells, and fuzzy.

Celeste (Celeste), Saturday, 18 January 2003 19:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Momus (Momus), Saturday, 18 January 2003 21:02 (twenty-three years ago)

I suspect that several ILXers may live close to me and I just don't know it. Mike Taylor is fairly close; Andy K, Aaron W and the other Ann Arbor posters are fairly close. I can't remember if any other ILXers live in the 313, but it seems like I saw some on the presumably lost "Who on this bitch is from Michigan?" thread.

Ally (mlescaut), Sunday, 19 January 2003 01:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Even after the moving, Ned is still the closest ILx'er.

Chris Barrus (xibalba), Sunday, 19 January 2003 08:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Ravenswood means Amateurist is closer than anyone to basking in my immediate glory and is surely all the better for it.

nabisco (nabisco), Sunday, 19 January 2003 09:30 (twenty-three years ago)

God forbid we ever hold a FAP.

Aaron G. and I have met up with visiting ILXers -- shall we add you to the list for any such future event?

j.lu (j.lu), Sunday, 19 January 2003 09:33 (twenty-three years ago)

No, not you.

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 21 January 2003 00:06 (twenty-three years ago)

(nbsco: oh, i thought you meant you were around the corner or something)

Amateurist (amateurist), Tuesday, 21 January 2003 02:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Matos you beat me to it! Matos helped me achieve my dream of having a drink at the Chelsea Hotel bar last week. (Although I kind of bit that dream from Mary).

Andy B. works extremely close to where I live.

felicity (felicity), Tuesday, 21 January 2003 03:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Not sure which of the westside Manhattanites is closest, but maybe Ally or Geeta or Paul?

Jen (nstop), Tuesday, 21 January 2003 04:43 (twenty-three years ago)

oh you live in Clinton, yes? You might be my closest, although Ally may be yours.

felicity (felicity), Tuesday, 21 January 2003 04:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, Clinton/Hell's Kitchen. That's right, I just remembered Ally is only about 25 blocks from me. But if you are in Chelsea you are probably closer. Neighbor!

Jen (nstop), Tuesday, 21 January 2003 04:57 (twenty-three years ago)

**weathering daleson posts here on occasion. he lives upstairs from me. I'm currently storing gravy in his guitar case.

hey electricsoundofjim, who lives closer to Brighton, you or Andrew?

Hey JEFF I heard that! ;-)
Hi Ron! Waaaaaasssssuuupp. heheh

nathalie (nathalie), Tuesday, 21 January 2003 08:32 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm not sure. Could be Madchen, RGJ, Ally C, N. or somebody else entirely. I'm not sure where exactly in Glasgow everyone is and I'm probably better off not knowing!

smee (smee), Tuesday, 21 January 2003 09:33 (twenty-three years ago)

hmmm i think i'm ever so slightly closer to Brighton

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Tuesday, 21 January 2003 11:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Yanc*y is my LES neighbor.

Mary (Mary), Friday, 24 January 2003 06:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Simon Trife

James Blount (James Blount), Friday, 24 January 2003 06:58 (twenty-three years ago)

seven months pass...
Carey is my nearest ILX neighbor. Just a few steps from my bedroom door to hers.

Other than that, Hstencil's apartment is just a short drive through a not-so-nice neighborhood. Benjamin's too

phil-two (phil-two), Thursday, 11 September 2003 19:11 (twenty-two years ago)

gabbaneb probably is my nearest ILxor, unless there's someone in Queens really near the East River I don't know about.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Thursday, 11 September 2003 22:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Alex in SF lives a couple blocks from me, although he seems to have disappeared lately.

Sean (Sean), Thursday, 11 September 2003 23:08 (twenty-two years ago)

It used to be Amateurist, but now it's Kenan by a nose. Both are about four blocks away.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 11 September 2003 23:10 (twenty-two years ago)

nick mirov or philip sherburne

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 11 September 2003 23:15 (twenty-two years ago)

gabbneb (gabbneb), Thursday, 11 September 2003 23:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Vic, Thursday, 11 September 2003 23:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Still Jel

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 11 September 2003 23:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Sarah still doesn't fancy mine much.

Matt (Matt), Thursday, 11 September 2003 23:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm closest to Andrew and Jim - they're both one suburb over from me.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 11 September 2003 23:32 (twenty-two years ago)

(unless anyone else lives in East St Kilda that I dont know about... or like, Caulfield or somewhere)

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 11 September 2003 23:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Now that Carey has moved, I haven't the foggiest anymore.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Thursday, 11 September 2003 23:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Right this instant, Mr Tracer Hand. After that, probably the V1n3 H1ll mob.

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 11 September 2003 23:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Used to be Pyth/Laurel (about six or seven blocks away), now I guess it's Tad.

(I think my cousin lives in East St. Kilda, Trayce)

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Thursday, 11 September 2003 23:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Texas, Biyatch! (thatgirl), Friday, 12 September 2003 00:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Spencer and I live about 4 or 5 blocks away from one another - then probably Vic

luna (luna.c), Friday, 12 September 2003 00:12 (twenty-two years ago)

ally C lives upstairs in this flat.

otherwise, we are less than ten minutes walk from N.'s.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 12 September 2003 00:26 (twenty-two years ago)

While there are theoretically a few Portlander ILXors, I don't really know any of them. So, the next closest would be Jess.

Chris P (Chris P), Friday, 12 September 2003 00:56 (twenty-two years ago)

NO ONE lives close to me, not on this forum, not on any other place I've EVER been to online before in my life. So I should probably not be afraid to be a bitch to each and every single one of you Internet people because you guys live way too far away from me to actually do anything about it. But I just don't feel like being a bitch to people in general. Damn, man. I'm no fun at all.

Just Deanna (Dee the Lurker), Friday, 12 September 2003 01:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I used to think the same way Dee, but you never know. It turns out more folks live near me than I originally thought.

Nicolars (Nicole), Friday, 12 September 2003 01:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Dee, I could be in SA in 4 hours easy. You ain't that safe, honey. ;)

Texas, Biyatch! (thatgirl), Friday, 12 September 2003 01:17 (twenty-two years ago)

My bf went to school in SA, assuming we're talking about the Texas town and not the largish continent.

Chris P (Chris P), Friday, 12 September 2003 01:25 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah chris i can cruise through mexico and everything below it in 4 hours flat. yee-haw!

Texas, Biyatch! (thatgirl), Friday, 12 September 2003 01:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Texans aren't known for obeying posted speed limits, are they?

Chris P (Chris P), Friday, 12 September 2003 01:34 (twenty-two years ago)

rosemary lives in jersey city, yes? if so, then her.

Tad (llamasfur), Friday, 12 September 2003 04:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Still Stripey and Chris Barrus for me.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 12 September 2003 05:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Arthur for me, though he's not around much. I think he said Highland Park.

nickn (nickn), Friday, 12 September 2003 05:52 (twenty-two years ago)

gareth and mary, but outside the flat, maybe RickyT.

Ed (dali), Friday, 12 September 2003 06:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Except I forgot about Tracer in Finsbury.

Ed (dali), Friday, 12 September 2003 06:51 (twenty-two years ago)

James - erm in my house! PJ Miller lives round the corner too.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 12 September 2003 07:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Dave B and the Pinefox, by the looks of things. Although Mandee and StevieT won't be far off very shortly.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 12 September 2003 07:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I think it's still Graham.

MarkH (MarkH), Friday, 12 September 2003 08:51 (twenty-two years ago)

stelfox i guess, though i believe the legendary nick k-reg WORKS v.close to where i LIVE

(i WORK v close to where ed/suzy/gareth/mary LIVE) (dave q must be next closest) (and rickyT works close by to where i work)

mark s (mark s), Friday, 12 September 2003 08:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Only when I'm working from home Mark. Also, I'd completely forgotten that Dave Q lived on the Caledonian Road, which makes him easily the closest to me.

Ricardo (RickyT), Friday, 12 September 2003 09:05 (twenty-two years ago)

DV grew up in the town where I live, so he is an ex-neighbour I guess. Other than that I'm not sure, Andrew F living in town perhaps.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 12 September 2003 09:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Stil Dan and kephm

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 12 September 2003 10:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Well Sarah obviously. After that, I'm guessing it would be j. lu.

NA (Nick A.), Friday, 12 September 2003 10:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Dee, I could be in SA in 4 hours easy. You ain't that safe, honey. ;)

Oh rats. Spoil all my fun now, why don't you? (Tee hee hee hee.)

My bf went to school in SA, assuming we're talking about the Texas town and not the largish continent.

Ok, I'm rumbled. I actually live in the WHOLE of South America. Kidding. Anyway, if you could ask your bf what his perspectives were/are about the place, that'd be fab.

yeah chris i can cruise through mexico and everything below it in 4 hours flat. yee-haw!

And she'll have fun fun fun 'till her daddy takes the T-Bird awayyyy.

Texans aren't known for obeying posted speed limits, are they?

This is sadly true, especially, it seems, where I live. If you're doing the speed limit, you'd best be on the right-hand, i.e. "slow", lane. I've known instances where I'd drive five miles over the speed limit in the middle lane and have dozens of cars race past me on *both* directions. This, thankfully, is not the case in MOST residential areas. (Though I *would* bitch and moan about my street and how many cars shoot through it like bullet trains.)

Just Deanna (Dee the Lurker), Friday, 12 September 2003 13:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Steve M, and Katie.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 12 September 2003 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm not sure where sean c is, but methinks noodles is the closest to me (bloor st, right¿)

dyson (dyson), Friday, 12 September 2003 15:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I assume it's either Leigh or (eep) Calum

caitlin (caitlin), Friday, 12 September 2003 15:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Cprek and Emily live closer to each other than I to either of them, but we all live in Lexington so I'd say that counts. It's a small world, etc.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 12 September 2003 15:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Who in Boston lives closest to Jamaica Plain?

Kris (aqueduct), Friday, 12 September 2003 16:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Kate and Tracer are living closest to the VH hivemind; next closest is probably DQ.

suzy (suzy), Friday, 12 September 2003 16:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm in the process of moving so:
In the old 'hood: Vic I think (or whoever is closest of Beverly and Western)
In the new 'hood: Chris Barrus. Both rooftops have rocket launchers.

Orbit (Orbit), Sunday, 14 September 2003 23:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Aaron Ghostly
Andy Kellman

i dunno--who else lives in detroit/ann arbor/toledo/michigan/ohio?

Kingfish (Kingfish), Sunday, 14 September 2003 23:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Nicolars is a south Michigan personage.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 14 September 2003 23:38 (twenty-two years ago)

jones lives downstairs, cybele lives around the corner

s1utsky (slutsky), Sunday, 14 September 2003 23:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I've seen you, Texas Sam.

Aaron A., Sunday, 14 September 2003 23:46 (twenty-two years ago)

colin, i think. but i haven't seen him in 13 years.

gaz (gaz), Sunday, 14 September 2003 23:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Since Aaron G. moved to New York, Millar is the nearest known ILXor to me. (There seem to be some Washington-area types around here who don't make that generally known. If you don't want to speak up for yourselves, okay, but since Millar is no longer available for FAPs I wouldn't mind some company.)

j.lu (j.lu), Monday, 15 September 2003 01:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Tracer has been co-opted into the hive mind, although he spent most of the morning looking at adverts for flats.

Ed (dali), Monday, 15 September 2003 11:46 (twenty-two years ago)

since Millar is no longer available for FAPs

But is he still available for corporate events and/or birthday parties?

Nicolars (Nicole), Monday, 15 September 2003 11:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Tim Hopkins, but only once a fortnight on Saturdays.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 15 September 2003 11:55 (twenty-two years ago)

It's probably Marcello now.

Tom (Groke), Monday, 15 September 2003 12:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Does anyone else actually really live anywhere near me though, apart from Tim's regular pilgrimmages to St James Park?

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 15 September 2003 12:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Technically I no longer live in Brighton. I am now a smidge nearer robster than I was, I suppose. But if someone could point me towards the Hove massive? Thanks.

Archel (Archel), Monday, 15 September 2003 12:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Since Aaron G. moved to New York, Millar is the nearest known ILXor to me.

you're in luck! he moved back to DC.

phil-two (phil-two), Monday, 15 September 2003 13:05 (twenty-two years ago)

prob mark s as i think he's about 400 yards away from my house, does this mean i live near dave q, too?

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Monday, 15 September 2003 13:11 (twenty-two years ago)

not especially

mark s (mark s), Monday, 15 September 2003 13:13 (twenty-two years ago)

still think it's ronny...(although matos, lyra, jen, and js are closin' in!)

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 15 September 2003 13:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Anyway, if you could ask your bf what his perspectives were/are about the place, that'd be fab.

Jeez, the answer could quite possibly go on all day. But maybe I will. Has there been a Towns In Texas: S/D thread yet?

Chris P (Chris P), Monday, 15 September 2003 13:24 (twenty-two years ago)

the aforementioned legendary nick k-reg lives about 100 yards from me, the next road down, w12. had never seen him before meeting him at the fap a couple of weeks ago and seeing his address on the envelope full of cds he was dishing out. he walks past my flat everyday and i walk past his. maybe we should swap flats so we'd both be 100 yards closer to where we always go.

andy

koogs (koogs), Monday, 15 September 2003 17:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Aaron no longer lives in NYC, j.lu, you should email him.

During the week, my closest neighbor is I think still Paul Eater, unless someone else has moved up here. Felicity is next closest.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 15 September 2003 17:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I think it's now N. by about half a mile from Ally C and RJG. Mind you I have no idea of the location of Cozen or Smee or any of the other Glasgow ILXors that I don't actually know IRL.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 15 September 2003 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Nickalicious -- he lives probably about thirty miles away, but my band has played with his band a couple of times.

earlnash, Monday, 15 September 2003 19:05 (twenty-two years ago)

you're in luck! he moved back to DC.

When (and why?) did this happen? Did he go back to his parents' house?

j.lu (j.lu), Monday, 15 September 2003 19:35 (twenty-two years ago)

two weeks pass...
As of just now, Tracer. Who's just down the road! Except it's quite a long road, and I don't actually live on it.

cis (cis), Sunday, 5 October 2003 22:19 (twenty-two years ago)

for me, it's still Tuomas, who's merely on the other side of this here Gulf of F.

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Sunday, 5 October 2003 23:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, it used to be stevem, I think. But now it's Anthony Kyle Monday, just ten minutes down the road.

adaml (adaml), Sunday, 5 October 2003 23:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I am realatively close to Tracer too, but marianna is now my closest (since Emma moved out). I think it would be a close run thing between Cis and Carsmile to be Tracers ILx Neigbour.

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Monday, 6 October 2003 11:40 (twenty-two years ago)

any Central Europeans in here?

Fabrice (Fabfunk), Monday, 6 October 2003 12:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Alex in Doncaster (Alex in Doncaster), Monday, 6 October 2003 12:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Who will I be nearest to when I move to very near White Hart Lane football ground?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 6 October 2003 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

If Cuspidorian is the ILX Libby then I finally have an ILX crush (after all these years). PLease delete me for being creepy / pally / whatever.

Matt (Matt), Tuesday, 7 October 2003 07:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, the VH Hivemind is closest to me, unless you count Pete B's workplace, but if we started counting workplaces, we'd all have to do this all over again. Sigh. Bloomsbury in the house. Let's all run over and force the Duke of Bedford to unlock our garden! He must have heard me going on about Lord George Gordon and got scared. "Last time yer lot were here, you burned down my house, you're not going in my garden!" Meanie. :-(

kate (kate), Tuesday, 7 October 2003 07:43 (twenty-two years ago)

If Cuspidorian is the ILX Libby then I finally have an ILX crush
I wish! sorry I don't look anything like her and I'm not so cheery

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Tuesday, 7 October 2003 09:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Martin, you'll be a single bus ride away from us, but you may be nearer the turnpike lane massive

chris (chris), Tuesday, 7 October 2003 09:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Whoever they might be.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 7 October 2003 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

two months pass...
now it's Enrique, by quite a long way.

MarkH (MarkH), Tuesday, 16 December 2003 13:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Martin i think i'm your nearest neighbour now

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 16 December 2003 13:57 (twenty-two years ago)

sgs, by a ridiculous amount, so I'm told!!

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 16 December 2003 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I think mine is Ned or gygax.

Dean Gulberry (deangulberry), Tuesday, 16 December 2003 17:37 (twenty-two years ago)

who lives in brixton? i'm moving there tonight!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 16 December 2003 17:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I am happy and honoured to have Stevem as my nearest neighbour. Drop in any time!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 16 December 2003 21:14 (twenty-two years ago)

well, it was tracer hand, for a short while, but no longer it seems. i am not so sure now, maybe carsmile steve, pete or anna?

finsbury park is underrepresented

charltonlido (gareth), Wednesday, 17 December 2003 15:01 (twenty-two years ago)

You're only a short bus ride from our gaff Tracer-Haitch - is there anyone closer than sunny Peckham? Surely..?

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 17 December 2003 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I might be - I'm in Clapham.

Alfie (Alfie), Wednesday, 17 December 2003 15:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Starry you are right, Alix tells me our respective flats are across the recently-demolished bit from one another.

*waves across the rubble*

And of course there's also Tim H. down by the Rye.

sgs (Mark C), Wednesday, 17 December 2003 15:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Traitor Hand :(

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 17 December 2003 16:55 (twenty-two years ago)

anyone near holloway nags head? i knew tracer WAS..

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 17 December 2003 17:09 (twenty-two years ago)

yes gareth is, and it's only a 15 minute ride on the 29 for me

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 17 December 2003 17:12 (twenty-two years ago)

We should set up an elaborate system of semaphore signals!

Actually Lixi says she has bought some fire hazard cheap xmas lights so there's a chance it could be smoke signals :)

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 17 December 2003 17:12 (twenty-two years ago)

one month passes...
I believe Bob Shaw is quite nearby too. I still haven't met Enrique, but have almost certainly passed him in the street without knowing it's him a few times.

MarkH (MarkH), Monday, 26 January 2004 22:27 (twenty-two years ago)

The Winnipeg ILXors other than myself have gone back to lurking. If I don't count them then I guess Hurt Huck is still the closest followed by the Minneapolis folxors. Very lonely...

Bryan (Bryan), Monday, 26 January 2004 22:36 (twenty-two years ago)

hstencil, lauren, carey/phil-two. mary's in lower manhattan -- pretty close by.

aleksandr supertramp (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 26 January 2004 22:43 (twenty-two years ago)

actually, i just masquerade as a brooklynite! mary, yanc3y, and bnw are pretty close to me, i think, as is ian johnson if he's in a new school dorm.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 26 January 2004 22:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I ran into Carey when I left my girlfriend's apartment today!

hstencil, Monday, 26 January 2004 22:53 (twenty-two years ago)

jaX0n or shakey mo collier, both fairly equidistant.

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 26 January 2004 23:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Who lives nearest Vancouver? Or in Vancouver?

sym (shmuel), Monday, 26 January 2004 23:03 (twenty-two years ago)

le coq d'darren d'death

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 26 January 2004 23:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Colin Saunders

Leee Majors (Leee), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 00:12 (twenty-two years ago)

who lives near Wanganui (in NZ)?

isadora (isadora), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 00:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Has anyone moved to south-west London lately without telling me? Huh?

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 00:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I wish!

Davel & PJ are near me!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

dan perry, chris v

kephm, Tuesday, 27 January 2004 16:06 (twenty-two years ago)

i have no idea. i guess tad and rockist scientist, still.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 16:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Anthony Kyle Monday and cats.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 16:22 (twenty-two years ago)

the former cast of the broadway show?

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I know Felicity lives up somewhere in lower Chelsea....not that it's necessarily close by where I live (Univeristy Place between Washington Square and Union Square), but near enough. I have no real idea where the other ILX NY'er live. Ally used to live up near 66th street, but I believe she's since moved.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

five months pass...
the imminent departure of Enrique means my ILX neighbour will be either Jellybean or Johnney B.

MarkH (MarkH), Monday, 26 July 2004 14:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Tracer used to live next door. His parents still do.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Monday, 26 July 2004 14:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know who my new ILX neighbours are!

I mean, the spiritual presence of M@rce110 haunts St.Reatham like a ghost, but I don't know where the other South London people are...

Super-Masonic Black Hole (kate), Monday, 26 July 2004 14:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Wait, who's in Brixton? Tracer? Which bit of Brixton? Cause if you're on Brixton Hill, you're my closest. Otherwise, it's Mark C, or possibly William Bloody Swygart.

Super-Masonic Black Hole (kate), Monday, 26 July 2004 14:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Ok, so my true ILX neighbor is, I guess, Nickalish, unless there's some Tennesseeans I don't know about.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Monday, 26 July 2004 14:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm pretty sure mine is still Herr Pinefox. But I live a bit further away from him than I once did. Especially since Boyler SOLD ME DOWN THE RIVER by temporarily moving to North London.

(xpost - Kate yours is probably Tracer Hand I would think)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 26 July 2004 14:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Also Kate myself, TimH, the Pinefox, JtN and others are probably closer than Mark C. Still not that close, mind.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 26 July 2004 14:52 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm moving soon, my nearest neighbour will then be Mark S, Mikey G or Charlie i think

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Monday, 26 July 2004 14:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Once Elvis takes a powder for NYC, my nearest ILX neighbors will be the LA collective in general.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 26 July 2004 14:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Steve, where are you moving to?

Mikey G (Mikey G), Monday, 26 July 2004 14:57 (twenty-one years ago)

who's mine? i know there's a load in the borough of islington, but i think most are further north...i'm near cross street and essex road. anyone closer than rob bolton?

colette (a2lette), Monday, 26 July 2004 14:57 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm taking applications for people who want to be my ilx neighbours.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 26 July 2004 14:57 (twenty-one years ago)

My "neighbours" are probably Hanna in Stockholm and Tiit in Tallinn, who are both quite far away, but still closer than the rest of you.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 26 July 2004 15:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I guess Gizmo is my nearest neighbour!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Monday, 26 July 2004 15:02 (twenty-one years ago)

colette we are probably closest - both before and after your recent move!

i didn't know any ILXors when i was in brixton.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Monday, 26 July 2004 15:02 (twenty-one years ago)

G, Stratford

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Monday, 26 July 2004 15:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Cool, near the bard's gaff?

Mikey G (Mikey G), Monday, 26 July 2004 15:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Depending on his current location, my nearest neighbor is probably amateur!st.

St. Nicholas (Nick A.), Monday, 26 July 2004 15:09 (twenty-one years ago)

G, I thought he was from Barking?

Porkpie (porkpie), Monday, 26 July 2004 15:10 (twenty-one years ago)

"ye Jubilee line extension is most useful"

I think yey Barking Bard has sold out to Burton Bradstock.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Monday, 26 July 2004 15:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Dan and Chris are mine until Friday, after that it's Jon and Ian, and two weeks from now it's the LAXors

itsa me, mario! (x Jeremy), Monday, 26 July 2004 15:15 (twenty-one years ago)

mine was ian j, before he moved back for the summer. now my closest are probably mary and alex in nyc.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 26 July 2004 15:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Pete, maybe Marianna, followed by Gareth and Steve M and occassional ILM poster Martin Clarke, but he was my mate before and i introduced him to this place, so I'm not sure if I'll count him.

Anna (Anna), Monday, 26 July 2004 15:36 (twenty-one years ago)

i don't really want to leave North London! haha, but this is because i keep thinking it's like Eastenders i.e. someone moves a few miles north or whatever and they're never seen or mentioned again.

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Monday, 26 July 2004 15:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I dunno, it's probably Dr C or Barry now. The west is a vacuam.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 26 July 2004 15:58 (twenty-one years ago)

geeta and hstencil, i think.

Maneating Leopards of India (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 26 July 2004 20:32 (twenty-one years ago)

my nearest ilx neighbor is in the same house, he is playing grime and washing up downstairs

steanor bottom toll house (gareth), Monday, 26 July 2004 20:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm pretty sure I'm the only ILXor in Mendocino County, so I'm guessing the nearest are the SF bay area people.

AaronHz (AaronHz), Monday, 26 July 2004 20:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I guess the philly folks are the closest to me.

CeCe Peniston (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 26 July 2004 21:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Right - Kate, where in the Sainthood are you? If it's Common area it's very likely to be me...

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Monday, 26 July 2004 21:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Colette and Rob are very near to us.

suzy (suzy), Monday, 26 July 2004 21:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Almanac Adam now being here means I have an ILXor literally around the corner from my gaff!

Ver world, she is too small.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 04:19 (twenty-one years ago)

i think posters from the east coast of australia are nearest to me on the west coast. so near may be the wrong word i guess. hmmmmm.

gem (trisk), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 04:25 (twenty-one years ago)

No other Perthians on 'ere?

Ive *been* to Perth before, does that count? heh.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 05:04 (twenty-one years ago)

well i haven't been on here that much but not so's i've noticed.

erm sure i guess visiting perth is kinda neighbourly. i've visited melbourne too. hidey-ho!

gem (trisk), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 05:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Perth was cool. I'd consider living there if it wasnt so damn isolated, but I loved the weather and it seemed nice and compact yet has-everything-ish.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 05:27 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah i like it a lot. the weather is usually great, the beaches are gorgeous, it's pretty cheap and has most things (bands often don't tour here though, that's pretty annoying). it can be a bit small too what with bumping into people you want to avoid (even though 1.7M live here or something). but it's cool. i'd like to go live in melbs for a time before i settle down though.

gem (trisk), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 05:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I bet any money I know some perthians you know, based on the what I've experienced - everyone seemed to know everyone else, its insane.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 05:46 (twenty-one years ago)

it is a little weird that way, since it's actually pretty spread out. but that whole six degrees of separation thing seems to have shrunk to about two. i bumped into a girl i was at uni with in my office building's shower room jsut this morning. she was naked, it was disturbing as i hadn't seen her for ages and it felt odd to be saying "so what are you up to these days?" to someone with no gear on.

gem (trisk), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 05:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Enrique appears to be moving to within about 500 yards of me. Australian Marianna is currently closest, I think.

And oi Fielding, I live closer to you Crouching Actor, Hidden Travis peeps than Stevem does. Bah why do people forget about beauteous Highgate?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 08:51 (twenty-one years ago)

liz: and you also moved FROM oxford? verily a small world.

enrique (Enrique), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 08:57 (twenty-one years ago)

About half of London ILX has moved down from Oxford though.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 09:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha yes via South Wales (arrgh living with mother after graduation) and Finsbury Park. Highgate is very nice although there are many executive pram-pushers.

MDC has a point.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 09:02 (twenty-one years ago)

...and Tiit in Tallinn, who ...

who's actually living in Tartu, as per the past nineteen years, but -- hulloo, Tuomas from Finnsinki!
;)

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 09:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Highgate is very nice although there are many executive pram-pushers.

like with mini-darts sets and those newton ball things?

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 09:06 (twenty-one years ago)

RJG. Ally C lives upstairs and is therefore further away.

Madchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 09:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Whoops, sorry Tiit, I honestly forgot that. I do know Tallinn isn't the whole of Estonia.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 10:14 (twenty-one years ago)

i imagine it's marcello (presumably about 15mins walk away).

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 10:30 (twenty-one years ago)

depending on which of the 8 rooms is being occupied at the time.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 10:36 (twenty-one years ago)

you wouldn't let it lie

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

j.p. almeida lives in the same country I do; joan vich lives in the nearest neighbouring country. Iberian Peninsula 0wnz j00!

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 11:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm a bit new here, well to actually posting anything anyway. I'm in Muswell Hill, looks like there's quite a few people near-ish to there...

Hello, btw.

marvin wang (marvin wang), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 12:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Greetings!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 13:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Hello! Interesting name!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 13:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Is Steve closer to me than Chris & Vicky? I am near the Spurs ground, and I'm not sure.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 16:27 (twenty-one years ago)
