Have left you voicemail message. I e-mailed you on Sunday with details etc. I pressed reply to an e-mai from one of your accounts and have had no failed message, but it was from an e-mail Felicty sent me from your house, so it may not be your regular account. You, me and Toby all on guestlist. Phone to discuss meeting up. Need to be there by ten/ ten thirty as will get busy.

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:25 (twenty-three years ago)

I hear the weather in Prague this time of year is harsh......

chris (chris), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Reason for all this malarky - have no credit, but may be getting new phone, so it seems a waste to credit now if I do.

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes, Chris, snow falls over New Orleans and the red fox has reached Berlin.

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:30 (twenty-three years ago)

The correct response was "but in Odessa the storms blow across the steppes" you must be a traitor!!!!

chris (chris), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:30 (twenty-three years ago)

also where have you been on soulseek the last few days, eh?

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:31 (twenty-three years ago)

wow nights out in London have such mystique

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:31 (twenty-three years ago)

brighouse. biarritz.

tell me about it.

dareth, Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:33 (twenty-three years ago)

now now.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Sorry to use IlE, but all other communications channels have failed.

Tiga at Nag Nag Nag tomorrow, anyone fancy it?

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:40 (twenty-three years ago)

< /unintentional mystique.

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:40 (twenty-three years ago)

i saw setlists where he plays "Losing My Edge", that's reason enough but sadly I'm in Dublin. If he plays the Hot In Herre cover you should leave though.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:46 (twenty-three years ago)

It is awful isn't it? I played that and thought ... why?

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah it's the least charismatic record I've ever heard.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:53 (twenty-three years ago)

My friend Sam will be there.... if you go, you should say hi to him.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:54 (twenty-three years ago)

You've never come across Curtis Steigers then.

Bless Ireland and its cultural vacuum.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Why did I half-expect a Gareth: Classic or Dud thread?

nabisco (nabisco), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:56 (twenty-three years ago)

On the contrary I remember Steigers record getting banged out all too regularly on Irish radio, "and I wonder why we have to hold on, with tears in our eyyyyyyyyyyyyes"

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:56 (twenty-three years ago)

And you thought it was charismatic?

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 15:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh yeah just look at those lyrics, beautiful, emotive, epic, what more could you want.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 16:02 (twenty-three years ago)

And possibly the best saxophone solo to ever grace a pop song.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 16:05 (twenty-three years ago)

gareth: classic or dud.

i think unintentional mystique is cool. what's the problem with being civil and wanting to avoid rude posters OH MY GOD DOOMIE YOU POINTLESS PISSHEAD FUCK OFF NO SORRY MARK S THIS HAD TO BE SAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyway. bobby fischer. noah cross. water supplies.

tell me about it.

rageth, Tuesday, 28 January 2003 16:31 (twenty-three years ago)

So I see Jekyll/Spoiled Child has started all over again.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 16:33 (twenty-three years ago)

Email me about this Anna.

Graham (graham), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 16:38 (twenty-three years ago)

PLUR!

gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 16:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Penile Lesions Under Rash?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 16:43 (twenty-three years ago)

Email me about fiesta Gareth.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 16:44 (twenty-three years ago)

so ronan, if gareth loses his head and has an entirely unwarranted go at doomie, it's ok; but if someone dares to call him in on it, they're a spoiled child.

i think we know who the spoiled children around here are, and i'm not one of them.

Marcello Carlin, Tuesday, 28 January 2003 16:46 (twenty-three years ago)

No point in arguing this further except you might want to take a look at some of your old posts to redefine your definition of unwarranted.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 16:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Gareth's entire exchange with Doomie on that thread was an inversion and escalation of what Doomie did to Chris, used to illustrate to Doomie why people were reacting to him the way they were.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 16:52 (twenty-three years ago)

aww, you guys!

anna your phone is not ringing!

gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 16:53 (twenty-three years ago)

gareth is classic!!

i haven't bothered reading the thread

geeta (geeta), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 16:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Jeez, Dan, going ahead and making sense like that.

Gareth is indeed ultraclassic. Still hoping he makes it out to LA!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 16:54 (twenty-three years ago)

and what did doomie do to chris exactly, except offer him some pertinent and relevant advice which other subsequent posters, gareth prominent amongst them, did their best to derail and distort in order to have a crack at him?

Marcello Carlin, Tuesday, 28 January 2003 16:55 (twenty-three years ago)

haha whatever, think you need to look at who the real yes men are here, the few people who justify your own or doomie's unprovoked little bitchslaps.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 17:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ned, im afraid it looks like may/june now. i know i keep putting la off, but im trying to co-ordinate a new orleans-austin-la-sf trip

and im going to NYC again first, in march, almost booked in fact

gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 17:02 (twenty-three years ago)

when gareth?

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 17:04 (twenty-three years ago)

no ronan, i'm being serious here. and i am tired of, and angry with, the ile with which we have been presented over the last two days, and i'm taking the whole thing off board. i'll be back when things/people have calmed down a little.

Marcello Carlin, Tuesday, 28 January 2003 17:04 (twenty-three years ago)

"things/people" is generally a lousy euphemism for "I", Marcello.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 17:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Anyway I don't think it's ok to continue this on a thread which it wasn't meant for, so apologies to gareth and anna.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 17:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, yes: god damn it you'd think a clear joke about a Gareth C or D would wave a great big flag over its head that said "HAHAHA OBVIOUSLY THIS IS FUNNY BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT REALLY MEANT TO DO IT."

nabisco (nabisco), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 17:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Dud.
(/obviously not getting the joke whilst at the same time doing his own joke of usual little merit.)

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 17:14 (twenty-three years ago)

May/June is still more than fine, Gareth! But here's the thing -- in late May a bunch of us are planning to go up to visit DB in Seattle, so coordinate around that if you can! Drop me a line and I'll share details.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 17:17 (twenty-three years ago)

ah, ok, erm, that whole trip is up in the air at the minute, not really planned, and i had planned to go to seattle in sept, but well see how things go. the only concrete thing at the minute is nyc (aaron, i'll let you know when its a bit more concrete)

gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 17:19 (twenty-three years ago)

No worries, I just meant that if you come to LA in May, try to make sure it's when all of us are around. ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 17:21 (twenty-three years ago)

cool gareth thanks! Now I must start harrasing my parents for $$ ;-)

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 17:22 (twenty-three years ago)

i'd kick doomies ass.

Chris V. (Chris V), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 17:22 (twenty-three years ago)

my wallet says : "Bad Mother Fucker" on it.

Chris V. (Chris V), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 17:24 (twenty-three years ago)

anna, i couldnt find the email to the strange account that i have never seen, and that felicity managed to use on my pc. although, admittedly, i was slightly drunken. felicity what did you do???

gareth (gareth), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 14:06 (twenty-three years ago)

I have no idea. Maybe I just clicked Anna's name in an ILE hyperlink and then hit "ok" to everything? I think yahoo was involved. Sorry.

felicity (felicity), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 14:26 (twenty-three years ago)

hey no, dont worry about it! i shall look tonite!

gareth (gareth), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 15:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Anna, I'd still like an email about this.

Graham (graham), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 15:37 (twenty-three years ago)

(cos it looks kinda intersting but I know nothing about it)

Graham (graham), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 15:51 (twenty-three years ago)

ned, hopefully i'll get to meet you when you're up here. who is a bunch? anyone else from ilx?

ron (ron), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 15:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes indeed! Chris Barrus and Stripey from my neck of the woods and Sean from SF are all considering it. As should all other Left Coasters. ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 16:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Asking for emails is a bit dud Graham. Unless it's for an experiment.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 23:44 (twenty-three years ago)

anyone want to complete an e-mail survey for me?

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 30 January 2003 01:39 (twenty-three years ago)

did you make it to work ok this morning gareth?

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 30 January 2003 14:02 (twenty-three years ago)

mark s (mark s), Monday, 10 March 2003 11:55 (twenty-three years ago)

gareth will be disappointed this thread has veered off topic, I think. Let's talk about brown.

felicity (felicity), Monday, 10 March 2003 12:23 (twenty-three years ago)

has someone found him a suitable brown tie yet?

geeta (geeta), Monday, 10 March 2003 12:24 (twenty-three years ago)

A brownbus!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 10 March 2003 12:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Monday, 10 March 2003 12:30 (twenty-three years ago)

One RG found a black and red striped tie.

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 11:43 (twenty-three years ago)

I have seen it. It looks like something one might wear at the skool disko.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 13:38 (twenty-three years ago)

What, surely not SchoolDisco.com?

(erk)

suzy (suzy), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 13:39 (twenty-three years ago)

Ha ha, has he worn it yet?

rosemary (rosemary), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 14:42 (twenty-three years ago)

not to my knowledge, but he lives a far more exciting life than we what with going out and such like.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 14:47 (twenty-three years ago)

RG didn't tell me it was preppy?! Now he must wear it.

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 23:42 (twenty-three years ago)

It's a Land's End tie, Mary!!

rosemary (rosemary), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 23:53 (twenty-three years ago)

:o

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 23:58 (twenty-three years ago)

one year passes...
rather than starting a new thread, i will revive this one to say, my email (and site) are both down, as are being moved at the minute. so, i wont get any emails on the nrflkwndmls address. the yahoo address works though. hopefully stevem can handle the forwarding and stuff in a timely manner, and things can revert to normal. i'm also quite relieved to be leaving ghoulnet.

charltonlido (gareth), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Is Steve acting as your secretary and stuff now?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:15 (twenty-two years ago)

that'll teach you to go with a company 'just for the name'. also this thread = HAHA OMG

stevem (blueski), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:17 (twenty-two years ago)

no, but my site has been straddled across 2 domains for months now, i'm moving it all over to his server now, like everyone else, but the domain name is now in limbo while things happen (which i think, (hope) is something steve does), which means no email, which means thread revival

charltonlido (gareth), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:18 (twenty-two years ago)

ha some of the above makes little sense with that message deleted.

do people still hate tiga's 'hot in herre'? i think anna changed her mind. i still think it's great, much better than the original.

toby (tsg20), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I changed my mind on Tiga's Hot In Herre after that night at Bugged Out.

Steve, are you taking over the Internet?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:35 (twenty-two years ago)

the track grew on me a bit

i've been hosting gareth's site for the best part of a year but only now is the actual domain name being absorbed by my gigabyte guzzling black hole of a server, hurrah

stevem (blueski), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:37 (twenty-two years ago)

This thread tells you everything you need to know about ILE 18 months ago.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Plus ca change.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:42 (twenty-two years ago)

x-post

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:44 (twenty-two years ago)

stevem (blueski), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:46 (twenty-two years ago)

This thread tells you everything you need to know about ILE 18 months ago.

almost everything ...

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes - the key is in the mysterious deleted post ;)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Well yeah that's a given, but Marcello was still bitching at everyone & I couldn't see any difference!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:56 (twenty-two years ago)

My apologies, I'm not ILE enough to know about the deleted post.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:57 (twenty-two years ago)

neither am i, i don't know about it either

charltonlido (gareth), Friday, 4 June 2004 10:38 (twenty-two years ago)

It's on the most evil thread ever, beside a nice picture of a bearcub in a tree.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 4 June 2004 10:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you still wear the tie, gareth?

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Friday, 4 June 2004 13:09 (twenty-two years ago)

The tie was spotted on Friday February at the Swimmer FAP (aka The Biggest FAP Ever).

http://base58.com/ilx/fap20040213/DONT_TRY_IT.jpg

Gareth + tie on the right.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 4 June 2004 13:14 (twenty-two years ago)
