I'm going to classical music concerts on both Saturday and Sunday, because I am dead classy.

DV (dirtyvicar), Friday, 21 February 2003 17:52 (twenty-three years ago)

I am going to the pub tonight. I am going to the club tomorrow. I am sleeping on Sunday.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 21 February 2003 17:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Helping friends out in their garden on Saturday morning, beyond that is open.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 21 February 2003 17:54 (twenty-three years ago)

out on the lash tonight - mate's off to Australia for 6 months on Sunday, staying in rest of weekend to save money probably altho i might be tempted out to pub in Covent Garden area tomorrow night too (tho not very likely without a Central line still)

stevem (blueski), Friday, 21 February 2003 17:55 (twenty-three years ago)

I have no plans.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 21 February 2003 17:57 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm going to see the Frogs on Saturday. heheheheheh.

Dan I., Friday, 21 February 2003 17:58 (twenty-three years ago)

None of your business!

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 21 February 2003 18:01 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought I might do some of these things before:

1. Brush up on my conversational German?
2. Learn C?
3. Write a letter to $personofchoice in French?
4. Read lots of books about VAMPYRES?
5. Walk the Circle line?
6. Get up late, eventually get dressed about 2pm, lie on sofa, watch TV whilst feeling brain rot, play some Bust A Move?
7. Attempt to be able to do the splits by the end of the day?
8. Get inside a sleeping bag and maggot my way down the stairs on my stomach whilst giggling manically?
9. Walk the streets of South London looking to see if anyone has dropped anything exciting, and if I find anything take it home and varnish it with clear nail polish?
10. The CONGA!

I think it will probably be option 6, although the thought depresses me somewhat.

Sarah (starry), Friday, 21 February 2003 18:02 (twenty-three years ago)

The DV puts us all to shame again. I am going to Roken is Dodelijk in Grays tonight. Tomorrow I'm having lunch with an old school friend (I presume I will just smoke and drink black tea due to stinking hangover I will undoubtedly be suffering from - why should this Saturday be any different?). I'm not sure what I'm up to on Saturday night. Maybe the Dice Bar, maybe Thomas House? I haven't patronised either in a while. Sundays don't register in Lara-world.

Lara (Lara), Friday, 21 February 2003 18:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Sarah, Walk the Dinosaur!

jel -- (jel), Friday, 21 February 2003 18:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Urk?!

Sarah (starry), Friday, 21 February 2003 18:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey Starry, is that puzzle-game Bust a Move or dancing-game Bust a Move? (If dancing hooray, does the UK one still have Shorty and the vogueing robot and the J-pop with the uncleared Michael Jackson samples?)

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 21 February 2003 18:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Glumly packing up our apartment, preparing for big move on Wednesday....invariably drinking heavily while doing so to the accompaniment of various soundtrack albums.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 21 February 2003 18:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh Nabsicuh, the dancing one is Bust A Groove! We have both! Shorty and ROBO-Z are both present and correct but I dunno about any MJ samples - who's song? I like Kitty-N.

Sarah (starry), Friday, 21 February 2003 18:09 (twenty-three years ago)

you know like that song by Was not Was, walk the dinosaur! I'm advising everyone to Walk the Dinosaur. (I think it was a proper dance, I dunno)

jel -- (jel), Friday, 21 February 2003 18:09 (twenty-three years ago)

1) Meeting 10 Germans from St Pauli tonight. Getting drunk.
2) Tomorrow, doing a blanket collection for York at AFC Wimbledon's game against Withdean 2000, which as I'm sure you all know, is the big one.
3) Taking germans to AFC Wimbledon 'I luv my club' do
4) Sunday means a meeting. Sob. I have to come into wurk.

Dave B (daveb), Friday, 21 February 2003 18:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Really quotidian answer, I'm afraid: going to visit parents in South London. My dad's a structural engineer (retired) and Nic and I would like him to check out a structural survey that we *yawn* commissioned on a house *yawn* that we are thinking *scratches arse, yawns, pauses, resumes scratching* of purchasing *eyelids droop and close*. Sorry!

Matthew Adam Thurgood (Matt T), Friday, 21 February 2003 18:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Drinking alone tonight, will probably post an 80's r and b song on here at some point because I'm shitfaced. Tomorrow, my friend and his wife are probably coming to visit, we'll drink again. Sunday make sweet sweet love to my wife to the sweet sweet sounds of Teddy Pendergrass for approximately 30 seconds.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 21 February 2003 18:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Tonight: Donny Darko.
Tomorrow: My band has a gig in Indianapolis.
Sunday: Fuck if I know.

In between making dopealicious beats on my drum set, I'll be going to the Historical Society here in Chicago (yeah, sounds really lame but I get into it) and then seeing "City of God"

"Driving to Vegas this afternoon with my two best girlfriends to see what fun there is to be had!"

Goddammit, that sounds *SOOO* much better than my weekend. I hate me.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 21 February 2003 18:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Luna_cee_ has to carry the party spirit of all the LA people with her.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 21 February 2003 18:46 (twenty-three years ago)

1. Tweaking my instance of MySQL.
2. Working on a website.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 21 February 2003 18:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Bribe friends to help me hang my shelves by giving them turkey divan and homemade brownies.

rosemary (rosemary), Friday, 21 February 2003 19:02 (twenty-three years ago)

"I hope the Joe's Pub people are not so uptight this time "

That's like hoping snowflakes won't be cold.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 21 February 2003 19:02 (twenty-three years ago)

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 21 February 2003 19:18 (twenty-three years ago)

Not exactly a night (we shoud be so lucky) more of a one-off:

http://www.publictheater.org/joespub/pub_nowplaying.html

Yeah Alex I guess, but I used to think they were okay. I guess it's the price one must pay for classy cabaret seating.

Mary (Mary), Friday, 21 February 2003 19:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Luna_cee, if you want to drink or gamble, go to the (non-hotel) casino next to the Flamingo (I think) - can't remember what it's called, but it has a cod-Irish theme. Beers are $1.25 in a plastic glass, and they have the only $2 blackjack table we found on the strip!

Everything else is obscenely expensive. The Liberace museum rocks, though.

Mark C (Mark C), Friday, 21 February 2003 19:22 (twenty-three years ago)

I think we should vote on what Sarah should do. I pick #10.

I'm going to be rehearsing for and singing in a conducting recital given by a friend from college as part of his master's degree.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 21 February 2003 19:22 (twenty-three years ago)

My bf and I are getting picked up tonight by my sister and her friend. We're spending the weekend with my relatives, helping my cousin move into his house and goofing off. I'll get to see my youngest sister (the one on the brink of needing hospitalization due to eating disorders). I probably won't have to pay for any food. Good stuff.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 21 February 2003 19:26 (twenty-three years ago)

Everybody's (nickalicious), Friday, 21 February 2003 19:27 (twenty-three years ago)

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 21 February 2003 21:20 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm poor so will be playing Max Payne on the Playstation 2 and may possibly buy myself a bottle of Strongbow.

fractal (fractal), Friday, 21 February 2003 21:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Max Payne

My friendly coworker Lisa Payne has a son named Max. We have often spoken of his imminent pro wrestling career.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 21 February 2003 21:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Mary (Mary), Friday, 21 February 2003 21:48 (twenty-three years ago)

I am gonna get the long-overdue-because-of-me-being-busy new issue of SSCB online. And you will lurve it.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 21 February 2003 21:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Sarah, I vote for option 8, egged on by Spacestation Pongo popping in and out at the top of the stairs.

I am hopefully going to Sitges, Europe's number 1 gay holiday destination, to buy some big boots.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 21 February 2003 22:08 (twenty-three years ago)

All Uriah Heep all the time, Mary! The fellas love it!

Arthur (Arthur), Friday, 21 February 2003 22:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Ha, Starry, I just emailed you about Bust a Groove and got REJECTED. I was saying:

If it's the retitled Bust a Groove one then it is very sadly likely to have a different non-Japanese soundtrack. The original one was wonderful: I even tracked down a copy on disc. The MJ samples were on the level for ... the tall Japanese guy with no shirt (strappy leather holsters) and guns: it's Jackson off of the "I am a golden Communist God" record that I can't remember the name of, ticking and spitting "too bad, too bad about it ... why don't you scream and shout it."

The Kitty-N level, in the Japanese version, sounded like a J-pop version of Bjork. And Kelly's baby-bottle world had this great hamburger-mouthed rap that started "Kelly Kelly, why can't you see. . ."

Nothing, however, beats a giant vogueing robot, not even tandem capoeira aliens. My plans for this weekend: sit up dreaming of a beautiful future where giant vogueing robots stomp across Chicago as 170 bpm trance fills the air.

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 21 February 2003 22:11 (twenty-three years ago)

There was a time when I could beat ANYTHING with Shorty.

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 21 February 2003 22:11 (twenty-three years ago)

sat: radio show/booze fest

sun: code, code, laundry, code...

cprek (cprek), Friday, 21 February 2003 22:16 (twenty-three years ago)

He really should be banned from having any other career. With a name like Max Payne the only job you should be allowed is Pro-Wrestler. It would kind of like the olden days when people called Smith smithed, people called Thatcher thatched etc. People called Max Payne should bring maximum pain, preferably in a pair of brightly coloured trunks or a garish leotard.

fractal (fractal), Friday, 21 February 2003 22:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Saturday: got a consulting job in the morning for a hour or so, then I'm meeting a friend at this outstanding trans-Atlantic (it's Cuban and Spanish cuisine) restaurant in Pasadena. After that, it's off to Retrofuturism at MOCA before it disappears. After that, it's home for the rest of the weekend for more web site design and SQL work.

Xibalba (xibalba), Friday, 21 February 2003 22:22 (twenty-three years ago)

i also get to make a cake and give juice boxes to toddlers tomorrow morning to fill in for a friend. that could actually be fun, and i'm getting $16.50 for it. MONEY!

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 28 February 2003 17:31 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm thinking of watching my DVD of FoToR tonight. Tomorrow I'll go out to Dun Laoighaire and watch ToToR again (first time for Rener), and then on Sunday I intend visiting my niece (and her parents). I might try and squeeze seeing Daredevil into all this, knowing that it will be a terrible, terrible mistake.

DV (dirtyvicar), Friday, 28 February 2003 18:20 (twenty-three years ago)

same as last week, except no bday parties and everything's a lot more urgent and i've a prometheus unbound essay to write. oh and it seems i'm sick now, so add "getting better".

mitch lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Friday, 28 February 2003 18:26 (twenty-three years ago)

Not sure. Would like to be in LA tonight for either Chaki or Mr. Darnielle's shows, but might not be able to make either.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 28 February 2003 18:36 (twenty-three years ago)

Almost nothing. Rest, weekly shopping, TV, ILX.

Tomorrow - Sleep in, Eat a very late breakfast at a local diner, getting my (haha - xmas present from boss) massage at a beauty salon, maybe seeing what my friend's new digs are gonna be like...

Sunday - Bf has band practice. I will probably tidy up the house a bit and play music.

YAY! Relaxing commitment-free weekend!

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 28 February 2003 19:41 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm moving this weekend, and i'm working overnight at the bar tonight and tomorrow night.
i'll need some vitamins!

joan vich (joan vich), Friday, 28 February 2003 20:23 (twenty-three years ago)

The live-in is going to spend the weekend gaming, so he's out of my hair. And the non-live-in is coming over on Saturday and we're going to cuddle on the couch and watch "Nashville," then the live-in will come hom late in the evening and we'll probably end-up gaming until the wee hours, when they'll have to lug me into bed, and then I'll refuse to let them leave and I'll get a hedonistic tandem body rubdown that will send me off into blissful dreamland.

Sunday I'll sleep and catch-up on some letter writing tasks - oh, and redesign the tortoise and rat habitats, too, if I am inspired with some new designs.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Friday, 28 February 2003 21:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Go take computer to get fixed (I hope!). Drive around NJ, maybe? Go to party. Maybe go to church booksale on Sunday.

rosemary (rosemary), Friday, 28 February 2003 22:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, I'm going out shopping with my mother! Just for some food and stuff, because we don't have much money.

Er, that's it. And watching television too much. Maybe CSI: Miami in a C5 fuzzy-wuzzy 'is that David Caruso or a smear of marmalade on the screen: I CAN'T TELL!' stylee.

ChristineSH, Friday, 28 February 2003 22:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Seeing Willie Nelson tonight at a smallish venue. Tomorrow, helping my aunt move, apartment hunting with a friend, and then watching the Roy Jones Jr fight. Sunday, church and then probably more apt stuff, long evening run.

RickyT (RickyT), Friday, 28 February 2003 23:02 (twenty-three years ago)

I am conserving my skillz for felix da housecat tomorrow, though if the phone were to ring now I would sneak a quick pint or two, harmless fun etc etc.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 28 February 2003 23:05 (twenty-three years ago)

felicity (felicity), Friday, 28 February 2003 23:06 (twenty-three years ago)

I think maybe I shouldn't drink anything tonight.

felicity (felicity), Friday, 28 February 2003 23:07 (twenty-three years ago)

No, drinking is good! Being sober for 28 days has revealed to me the full truth of that statement, btw. I am so looking forward to having my first pint of March tomorrow. Mmmm, fragrant ale, I have missed thee so.

RickyT (RickyT), Friday, 28 February 2003 23:09 (twenty-three years ago)

DAn I., Friday, 28 February 2003 23:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Hehe, Felix is kind of a hero to me, obviously I like the dance giants and all but my favourite dance album of my clubbing life so far is definitely Kittenz and Thee Glitz, I'm hoping to meet him tomorrow, though I didn't ask for an interview.

Chupa-Cabras (vicc13), Sunday, 2 March 2003 12:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Sunday, 2 March 2003 12:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Impossible! She musts be posting from over there . . . ?

Don't fret Mary, you're cute too!

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 2 March 2003 17:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Another drunken night in NYC, clearly. (Last night's semi-ILX birthday celebration was fun, Chris Barrus, Stripey, Spencer and myself plus other good people.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 2 March 2003 17:23 (twenty-three years ago)

I am searching for travel adapters. My cellphone's charger came with a snap-off section that you attach the piece holding the prongs to. It even very nicely came with US and european prong pieces. However, I can't find an australian shaped prong section that will work with it, arrrrgghh! This is dumb- the whole point of bringing my phone is to be able to use it down there, but it's going to run out of power & be useless after a few days! I wish they were like Apple- buy one little kit, get 6 little pieces that snap onto the ipod/ibook chargers & make them work in 6 different places in addition to the US.

Perhaps I should just wait until I reach Sydney & then search the Australian shops for an Ericsson charger. (It's a t68m, if someone wants to tell me where to buy the correct piece to buy to be able to plug it into wacky AU shaped wall outlets. ;- ) )

lyra (lyra), Sunday, 2 March 2003 22:35 (twenty-three years ago)

Aaah, my brain is so fried that the last sentence there really makes no sense. :- (

lyra (lyra), Sunday, 2 March 2003 22:37 (twenty-three years ago)

If it's like the charger for my Ericsson, you can just buy/find a standard cassette player cable that will plug into it, from any electrical shop.

(I think you could even buy one of those Apple kits, the UK one for my PowerBook works fine with my phone charger)

Graham (graham), Sunday, 2 March 2003 23:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, I have the Apple kit already, for my ipod. I was tempted to use that for the cellphone charger, too, but apple has a little knob on the back of the prong piece, which slides into a slot in the convertor. The ericssons converter doesn't have such a slot, and so the Apple prong bits won't fit all the way in. Which lead me to believe that it won't really charge...

A visit to Radio Shack has yielded a bit that will fit over the US shaped prongs & into the wall outlet, at least. So maybe I'm set. I guess I'll find out when I try to plug in everything down there. ;- )

lyra (lyra), Monday, 3 March 2003 00:34 (twenty-three years ago)

I just got over my (ugggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh) hangover and now I'm ready to par-TAY! (ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 7 March 2003 18:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Someone's coming to view our house tomorrow. That doesn't really count as doing something, does it? In fact, I might go out somewhere before they show up, so that's what I might be doing.

50/50 on whether they'll be interested, BTW. We needed a lot of work doing to this shambles that we couldn't afford...

My weekend is a big, yawning chasm of nothingness. I've been moaning all week that I've had no time to myself to do anything, and now it's finally here, I can't think of a thing to do. and the kettle is broken so I can't even caffeinate myself into action. :-(

kate (suzy), Saturday, 8 March 2003 09:17 (twenty-three years ago)

I've made up my mind. I'm going to take a shower and clean my room, top to bottom. And even wash my sheets. I may love the smell of dirty dronerock boy still on my pillows, but I've decided it's actually kind of gross to not wash yer sheets for that reason.

My fun weekend...

People came and saw house. I didn't run off somewhere after all. They didn't seem 100% convinced. My guess is, they'll make a lame offer soon and disappear forevermore.

Now I'm just bored.

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Saturday, 8 March 2003 14:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 10 March 2003 18:39 (twenty-three years ago)

this weekend I am torn - on the one hand, I want to relax and repay the sleep debt built up last weekend in Nottingham.

But I also want to ROCK and fancy going to a number of gigs, viz. Large Mound & Female Hercules (WOAAAAHHHHH!) or the Jimmycake on Saturday, and The Chalets on Sunday. I have the feeling there is something on Paddy's Day I fancy as well.

And also, I could have people round to watch the fireworks.

And I want to do zine writing.

Pshaw, I must duplicate myself. Why did I not apply myself more to fringe science at school?

DV (dirtyvicar), Friday, 14 March 2003 12:51 (twenty-three years ago)

I started the weekend early! I read Moomin books, listened to music, went to the park with my dog and had spaghetti hoops on toast for lunch = perfect day. And the beauty of it all is that tomorrow is still saturday. I want to go and see "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" and get the new Cradle of Filth album tomorrow.

Tonight - trying to avoid comic relief horror by finding sweet sweet oblivion at the bottom of a pint glass or by staring fixated through the opague juniper-twisted landscape of a G&T, then larffing at some GOTHS probably oh dear, on Saturday I do not know, possibly "having friends over" to make sushi and on Sunday I do not know possibly researching trampolining clubs for growed ups.

And at some point I have to return faulty Avengers DVD.

Hey, me too JBR. (I have an 1800-word article due in five days and MUST get it done this weekend.) I'm such a procrastinator. I'll probably be in front of my laptop/tv for most of the weekend, except this afternoon when I have to head into the office to do stuff there. Last weekend was extra slacky, so I guess I'm making up for it.

I'm not really doing much today. I walked to town and back again earlier. Went to the park. Spurs won. Might go and see the Recruit tomorrow.

o. nate (onate), Saturday, 5 April 2003 15:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Helping friends tomorrow in their gardens, today doing a bit of shopping, might go out for a drink with some other friends tonight, a bit more of the novel revising, catch up on e-mail...this and that, really.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 5 April 2003 15:56 (twenty-three years ago)

today putzing around town, cleaning house, listening to records, trying to come up with ideas to pitch to editors and find editors to pitch them to (help meeeeeeee)

tomorrow, lounging, a trip to the finally re-opened farmers market, hot sex, futurama

jess (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 5 April 2003 16:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Hot sex is third on your list of priorities?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 5 April 2003 18:10 (twenty-three years ago)

''Going to see Anthony Braxton and Wadada Leo Smith tonight.''

Hm. My question still stands.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 5 April 2003 18:24 (twenty-three years ago)

I deduce that Jess expects to have hot sex at the farmers market, probably with some farmers.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 5 April 2003 18:36 (twenty-three years ago)

MMMMMMM. Hot sweaty farmery LUV.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 5 April 2003 18:39 (twenty-three years ago)

one year passes...
REVIVE!

I started my w/e last nite! We went out for a meal with some friends we haven't seen in ages. Tonight we are going to my parents as my aunts from London & America are coming over & I'm so excited as I haven't seen them for ages. Then tomorrow night I'v got my borther & his g/f over for evening, which should be fun! Then sunday, perhaps some serious r & r!!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Friday, 3 September 2004 08:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Tonight, I might be going to a club night at which they will only play music from 1995. Tomorrow, my old uni chum and her husband are coming over for lunch and in the evening I think there's a housewarming party. On Sunday, I might be going to Optimo, but I'm not sure what to do about work the next day.

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 3 September 2004 08:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Today I am bringing back my Ipod to the store to exchange it for the 4th generation one I asked for yesterday. Then I am going shopping more, I got paid yesterday and there is a hat I want to buy, I am giving hats another chance this winter, it's sort of a cap but it has wool on the inside. I also might buy this white t-shirt with small black dots all over it I saw in Urban Outfitters. Maybe some jeans if I really go nuts.

Tonight I have to go into a club to collect a ticket for the "electric picnic" which my friend has kindly secured for me, saving me 60 euro.

I won't go out though cos I am still mildly sick and need energy for the "electric picnic".

Tomorrow is the "electric picnic". it's a one day festival thing with Soulwax/2manydjs/Mylo/Erol Alkan etc etc, I am mainly going cos I can't bare not to, hopefully it'll be fun.

Sunday I guess I'll stay in bed, I've been given some days off work cos of my "labyrinthitis", which I have decided is the best name for an illness ever.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 3 September 2004 08:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Going to my parents place in the heart of the country. Back not before Sunday.
The garden, the plums, the sauna. The work(s).

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Friday, 3 September 2004 09:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Tonight I am going to post as my former housemate's girlfriend in order to go to some plummy publishing doo (ha ha, the last time we did this, we ended up at Irvine Welsh's party, so it might be a laff).

Tomorrow I am supposed to go to my friend's birthday party, which has a "SPACE" theme, and I'm a bit flummoxed as to my costume. I haven't really had time to think up anything particularly grand.

Sunday we were supposed to take our hangovers back to the giant pulsating artthing that controls the universe from the centre of Dulwich Park, but looking at the weekend, that might be a bit optimistic.

All in all, a good weekend, looks like, and that's not even counting FAPpage that I might attend!

Super-Masonic Black Hole (kate), Friday, 3 September 2004 09:19 (twenty-one years ago)

I go straight from work to the Wine Rack where I do my second job and then go out to Hitchin and get pissed. I work at Wine Rack tomorrow as well. I really must find the time to write a music review in the middle of all this. It's a hard old life.

dog latin (dog latin), Friday, 3 September 2004 09:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I work. I will also envy you for being able to sleep late, go out and pah-ty.

jesus nathalie (nathalie), Friday, 3 September 2004 09:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Tonight I am going to the pub followed dancing and filthy electro girls in North London followed no doubt by arduous and eventful night bus journey home. Tomorrow I am planning on getting up and seeing not one but two big art installation thing, one of which controls the universe from the centre of Dulwich, before going to watch the football at an as-yet-unknown location. Most of Sunday will be spent in the pub, and probably Monday night too.

This is my most packed weekend for ages and I am hugely looking forward to it.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 3 September 2004 09:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Last night: had a so-so curry and got a bit pissed in Glasgow
Tonight: Meeting friends after work. Going to get drunk enough not to care about the Scotland game.
Tomorrow: Going to an engagement party in a pub function room. I'm expecting an Abba medley, the Slosh and Runrig's Bonnie Bonnie Banks to finish it off. I think I might need to get drunk again.
Sunday: Dunno. Beer probably (I think I see a pattern emerging...)

Onimo (GerryNemo), Friday, 3 September 2004 09:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Haven't people in Britian started saying "on the weekend" yet? They'll fall in line with the USA eventually on this one.

Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 3 September 2004 09:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Steve Wright used to say this all the time when he presented the afternoon show on Radio 1. He may have picked it up from his missus.

MarkH (MarkH), Friday, 3 September 2004 09:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Tonight: bugger all. Will probably cook myself a really nice meal and get drunk. Still a bit traumatised from being defrauded of £350 by people who cloned Matt's bank card :(

Tomorrow day: hopefully, a writing day.

Tomorrow night: meeting people from my MA course in the pub to catch up and gloat/commiserate about results, dissertations etc.

Sunday: don't know yet.

God I'm boring.

Archel (Archel), Friday, 3 September 2004 09:40 (twenty-one years ago)

tonight: pub, cinema maybe, probably not electrofilth bints

sat: pwn nick s at fototaking, london eye, dulwich art thing, England match, cinema maybe

sun: move house, pete's burfday bash if feasible

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Friday, 3 September 2004 09:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Tonight: considering where to get some friends from. Tomorrow: oh, you know.

the impossible shortest special path! (the impossible shortest specia), Friday, 3 September 2004 09:41 (twenty-one years ago)

So is the Dulwich art thing now happening on Saturday?> Is that what was decided on my thread? Dammit, it's my thread and i Don't know what happened on it now...

Super-Masonic Black Hole (kate), Friday, 3 September 2004 09:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I regret posting that already (xpost)

the impossible shortest special path! (the impossible shortest specia), Friday, 3 September 2004 09:42 (twenty-one years ago)

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Friday, 3 September 2004 09:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Me?

the impossible shortest special path! (the impossible shortest specia), Friday, 3 September 2004 09:44 (twenty-one years ago)

It's fairly obvious where we all get friends from! ILX!

Super-Masonic Black Hole (kate), Friday, 3 September 2004 09:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Impossible Path Thing, do we know you under another name?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 3 September 2004 10:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Tonight: dinner with a friend, then dj:ing at a club
Saturday: doing a feature on a tiny festival, then a house-party in the evening
Sunday: lots of editing work to do & hopefully an evening of tv & snacks

Hanna (Hanna), Friday, 3 September 2004 10:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Matt: Not that I know of. I took the name from a textbook, about graph theory. I saw it on the bottom of the diagram and found it intriguing.

the impossible shortest special path! (the impossible shortest specia), Friday, 3 September 2004 10:08 (twenty-one years ago)

(I'm so sad)

the impossible shortest special path! (the impossible shortest specia), Friday, 3 September 2004 10:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Tonight: going to see a great Canadian band called The Dears in Camden. Their manager used to be my boss when I was a record label scumbag. I may stick around to see Avenue D for some electropop-goodness afterwards. I will most likely drink several pints of beer.

Tomorrow day: go to the Tate Modern (hopefully) to see the Edward Hopper stuff before it goes away on Sunday. If it is sunny and nice, I will then go to the park near my place and listen to music/read/suntan.

Tomorrow night: Absolutely no idea. Maybe go see a French film called La Haine which was recommended to me. Either that or The Bourne Supremacy. I assume at some point I'll meet up with friends and go to a bar to talk shit/get pissed. Maybe do some dancing depending on where we are.

Sunday: Have a big fry-up breakfast. Go to my local park again if it's nice out. Play tennis with ILX FAGOTs. Later I'll probably play a lot of PS2. Email people. Read up on fun things to do in Stockholm.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 3 September 2004 10:43 (twenty-one years ago)

La Haine is well worth seeing!

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Friday, 3 September 2004 10:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Ahem, Rob, Sunday... Unless you are out on Monday.

Pete (Pete), Friday, 3 September 2004 10:52 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll be reminiscing all weekend about watching Bjork's new video last night with my dad's sister who had never heard of her but thought her 'interesting', 'unique' and in possession of 'a good voice', a memory which is overriding what happened next (watching a Sugababes 10 best videos set with my cousin and dorking out over the lineup change and art direction).

R.I.M.A. (Barima), Friday, 3 September 2004 11:10 (twenty-one years ago)

It's conceivable that I may also end up at the club me and the boys *always* go to and get chatted up by sleazy hookers as usual. It's not even that type of club!

R.I.M.A. (Barima), Friday, 3 September 2004 11:12 (twenty-one years ago)

OH YES. And some Pete birthday action at The Albany of course! (can't make Monday as I am meeting a friend for dinner after this.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 3 September 2004 11:14 (twenty-one years ago)

i am going to listen to Iron Butterfly and make tomatoe sauce

kephm (kephm), Friday, 3 September 2004 11:15 (twenty-one years ago)

MADCHEN - please tell me more about the club that only plays music from 1995. It sounds like the best. club. ever.

ENT, Friday, 3 September 2004 11:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't even know what it's called, but it's at Blackfriars in the Merchant City, in Glasgow.

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 3 September 2004 11:57 (twenty-one years ago)

That sounds fantastic, if I ever go to Glasgow, I'll look it up!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Friday, 3 September 2004 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Rob - come to Avenue D, there are a few of us going I think.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 3 September 2004 12:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm doing nothing as I have no friends, boo hoo.

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 3 September 2004 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Off to Atlanta. Dragoncon for wife and daughter and two of her friends, museum/CDs/books/bars/foods for me. Meeting up with a Franks Apa pal tonight for a FAP and a plot of apa domination.

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Friday, 3 September 2004 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm possibly going to see some friends who just got back from Greece (where they got engaged and asked me to be best man by phone so should be a celebration) tonight and going to Reading for a 1st year of university 10 years on reunion thing tomorrow night which should be interesting, Sunday once I get back to London I will probably spend lounging around with the wife playing Sim City or something. Should be a good one!

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Friday, 3 September 2004 13:57 (twenty-one years ago)

what made you choose that name?

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Friday, 3 September 2004 14:06 (twenty-one years ago)

me? long story that doesn't actually involve any fecal matter or high ranking soldiers, fortunately.

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Friday, 3 September 2004 14:10 (twenty-one years ago)

You should have gone for Major Dump instead.

NickB (NickB), Friday, 3 September 2004 14:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Sarah's dad is going to be in town this weekend so we'll probably doing some hardcore Chicago tourist shit.

n/a (Nick A.), Friday, 3 September 2004 14:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Tonight I'm going to a friend's birthday party. Well, he's not actually a friend per se, but we have several mutual friends, and it's at the club that my friend Matt is now the principal booking agent for. So it should be fun.

Tomorrow night I have plans with R. to see We Don't Live Here Anymore.

On Monday I think we're going to see Playtime.

Other than that, I'll be traversing Chicago neighborhoods putting up Canasta posters for our Sept. 11 CMJ Preview show. I imagine I'll also be harassing my landlord for not sending out an exterminator after he said he would. Good times.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 3 September 2004 15:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I think the time has finally come to start recording my 5th album, having recently gone through my CD-R's and given all the tracks names and the CD's titles. I have a new song called "Group Hug Malfunction"...it's gonna be totally noise and inane chanting.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 3 September 2004 15:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm having such a shitty afternoon at work, and my friend who I'm supposed to go out with tonight has changed plans SO MANY TIMES that I'm seriously considering just going home and going to bed now. :-(

Super-Masonic Black Hole (kate), Friday, 3 September 2004 15:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm going to hang around the streets in the dark, convinced that eligible band members will fall into my lap. Just like last night.

the impossible shortest special path! (the impossible shortest specia), Friday, 3 September 2004 15:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I am going to wimp out now. Cause I feel shattered, and if I large it tonight, I'll be shattered for the rest of the weekend... I feel like crap, mentally exhausted, and physically stressed out, shoulders aching, etc. and if I am forced to go to a party I just won't be able to deal with anyone.

Super-Masonic Black Hole (kate), Friday, 3 September 2004 15:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I didn't go to the 1995 club. Instead, I bought £68 worth of Elemis face products for £25 from QVC.

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 3 September 2004 19:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Watching Scotland beating Spain right now; tomorrow I shall sit at home watching football all day; Sunday, I am one of the FAGOTs with whom Rob is playing tennis, then Pete's birthday FAP.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 3 September 2004 19:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Sunday: more renovations during the day, MCing (again) at night

Monday: finish renovations, put my apartment back together

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Friday, 3 September 2004 21:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Well I was going to go out dancing tonight but since I stayed up so late watching Bush/Kerry last night, and have held myself together with caffeine for most of the day, I think I probably won't. I still have Sunday night, if it doesn't rain too hard. (It would be a semi- outdoor venue.)

Rockist_Scientist (rockist_scientist), Friday, 3 September 2004 21:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Sunday I'm having a free consultation with a fitness trainer at the gym I just joined. I don't really have extravagant goals, but I want to get an opinion on a few issues.

Rockist_Scientist (rockist_scientist), Friday, 3 September 2004 21:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Today (i.e. Saturday): Well, I've been up for an hour already because I need to get a head start on my homework so I can finish it while also cleaning my room (just pure maintenance work now) and going out to run errands (grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, etc.), possibly go to Lowe's to see if I can decide on a paint color for my bedroom (I can't believe I'm actually moving away from having white walls), coming home, sweeping floors, vacuuming, doing some laundry (I am down to one clean outfit, sadly enough), and then hopefully relaxing late at night by the TV, either with some really good program (I have no idea what's on) or with a video or DVD.

Tomorrow (i.e. Sunday): Still up in the air. I know I have Sunday night Mass to attend and know that we're back on regular schedule choir-wise, but aside from that the day is pretty much open. Well, hopefully. If I can finish my homework by the end of today, that is.

Many Coloured Halo (Dee the Lurker), Saturday, 4 September 2004 10:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh wait! This weekend's the Labor Day weekend, isn't it? YES! I think, then, that I won't fret as much about finishing my homework before Sunday, because I *know* I won't have anything to do on Monday, and so I'm probably going to sit down in front of the TV on Monday night to watch Pump Up the Volume for the 1,538th time (approximately), or maybe Some Kind of Wonderful for the 955th time (again, approximately), or some other movie I love love love, and OMG, I have a box of microwave popcorn I can just pop in for a few minutes and then consume away, and... wow. I love Labor Day.

Many Coloured Halo (Dee the Lurker), Saturday, 4 September 2004 10:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Its lovely and sunny out there. I've just got back from last night, and now I'm going to go and meet Stevem in Dulwich and look at glowing installation things. Yay!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 4 September 2004 11:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Ugh!!!!! I think I am coming down with strep or something flu-like, as my throat feels like it's being ripped out by a thousand wolverines right now. It's that sore.... : ( fuck that air conditioning in the office....

this is going to ruin my entire week/end plans : (

Vic (Vic), Saturday, 4 September 2004 11:42 (twenty-one years ago)

i've had some flu crap for the past week, it's fucking worse with hayfever mixed in as well.

anyway i ended up out last night in a really tiny village pub full of clicky locals, but it was great and they were all really friendly.

staying in tonight though.

Ste (Fuzzy), Saturday, 4 September 2004 11:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Last night I went to the pub with some friends straight from work and stayed there until closing time, and was pleasantly surprised at how not shite Scotland were. This morning was spent recovering, and this afternoon I may go and get my hair cut if I can find somewhere that will do it at such short notice. I may also watch the England game.

I will be doing nothing at all tomorrow, except for the customary attempt at winning the pub quiz. I might go and see the Bourne Supremacy, I might not. Hmmm.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 4 September 2004 12:06 (twenty-one years ago)

oh shag i'm going to miss the england match coz i dont have sky. now i have a reason to go out.

Ste (Fuzzy), Saturday, 4 September 2004 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

You can still come and get kimchee with us, Vic, if you're not deat or summat.

x j e r e m y (x Jeremy), Saturday, 4 September 2004 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, we'll burn the sickness out of ya, Vic!

Today -- train up to LA, over to Amoeba, getting some credit and doing some shopping, then Jeremy, his roommate, Arthur and I get dinner as noted, then hopefully Lolita Corpus joins us for drinks (and maybe Laura!) and the evening is as the evening does. Tomorrow I float back at some point, clean up the place, then a friend from work and I are going to meet up over at the glory that is the Kitsch Bar, along with meeting up with ILMer Firstworldman and other friends. Tentatively the plan is to get enjoyably smashed through and through. Monday I intend to sleep off the hangover but then go catch Hero somewhere, as well as scrounging for some used Criterion DVDs.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 4 September 2004 16:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Ack, Jeremy/Ned it's sad but I feel too worn out (and filled w mucus membranes) to do anything but try to watch teevee and sleep. When i feel a little stronger tommorrow i'll go get some medicine; right now all i got is Vitamin C tablets. At least it's a 3 -day wkend so I can rest. It seems to be bad timing - I missed Ned last time too! Anywho, I responded on the Rilo Kiley thread about this too, so won't take up more space here!

enjoy Hero ned, when i tried to go see it last wkend it was sold out. heard it's amazing.
