I live with a teenage girl. I think she's just manipulative, one-dimensional, arrogant, self-obsessed, materialistic and repellent. Sort of like a lot of teenage girls but x100.

As for my gender...Over the weekend at a party, a single mother accused me (as in "accused", not "subtly asked me if it was true") of printing internet porn for her son (he "implied" I was the culprit). I have larger misgivings about teenage boys as well now, though I have two of the only decent ones for younger brothers.

I don't find them scary. Just...there.

I didn't really like many of them when I was a teenager, I found a lot of my classmates prissy and dim, but obv. you can't really let this on at the time or they will devour you. Once on the bus I overheard a teenage girl telling someone about how some other girl went in her bag during gym and stole her smokes and lip gloss and some money. According to the story, she knew who did it and confronted her later on while she was smoking the stolen smokes. The other girl denied it so the first girl started punching and kicking her until she was on the ground, then let her get up and run away crying while first girl yelled after her "never fucking steal from me again etc".

I'm 19, and when I was in high school (not long ago), I remember some girls were sooooooo stuck-up and selfish, and would make fun of just little details of a person's outfit. They would embarrass this one guy that kept to himself simply because he wore N*Sync shirts and loafers. Why do you care? I could never understand why they cared so much about embarrassing people who were most likely just being themselves and nothing more. I wasn't "popular" or "unpopular" in school...just in between, I guess. I was so focused on getting good grades and graduating that embarrassing someone, doing drugs, or drinking didn't even come across my mind.
I think people should just live life the way they want to, and not worry so much about what other people are doing.

Oh, no doubt my whole post was a sweeping generalization. But I still do think that part of the insidious nature of teenage girls that is not replicated by teenage boys is specifically because they are smarter than their male counterparts.

I think they are also more socially aware in general. And hence, in general, it's actually easier for most teenage girls to commit largely social acts of terrorism like causing embarrassment.

I've just remembered, just before I left London, I was sitting on the tube near a group of teen girls (15-16, I guess), heading towards South London and they'd been at the Disney Store and were parading a stuffed Tigger toy dressed as a Gaultier Christmas Angel or something. I don't remembr much of their conversation, even though they were real loud, but it wasn't particularly inane. But I was totally horrified by Tigger.
