You are all cute! Why are RJG's pants down?

Coney Island always looks so amazing and deserted and weird. I so want to go.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 26 April 2004 04:22 (twenty-two years ago)

You are all cute!

Quite so! Carey's two shots in particular are genius.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 26 April 2004 04:42 (twenty-two years ago)

hazza, the weather was better in London, Take that new yoik.

Ed (dali), Monday, 26 April 2004 05:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Heh also interesting that I seem to recall someone else (Gareth?) took pix of that neon candyapple sign too at some point way back.

Makes me want to go to Queen Vic markets/Luna Park and take pix.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 26 April 2004 05:01 (twenty-two years ago)

RJG's hair makes him look like Bob's Big Boy.

Prude (Prude), Monday, 26 April 2004 05:51 (twenty-two years ago)

RJG has a fine line in smoldering looks, he should have been around to be greater than valentino.

Ed (dali), Monday, 26 April 2004 05:51 (twenty-two years ago)

i dunno, aaron is pretty hubba-hubba!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 26 April 2004 07:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I replaced Stevem's eyes with the stone from my necklace earlier this evening, I forgot to mention that, whoops.

Allyzay, Monday, 26 April 2004 07:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Steve is looking very smart.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 26 April 2004 09:58 (twenty-two years ago)

These pictures are all great. I wish I was there.

Is anyone going to offer an explanation of that first picture...?

(RJG, your hair is good)

Cathy (Cathy), Monday, 26 April 2004 10:22 (twenty-two years ago)

RJG looks like a Dick and Jane character all gwowed up, right down to the rosy little cheeks.

suzy (suzy), Monday, 26 April 2004 10:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Did I see both Chimay blue AND red going?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Monday, 26 April 2004 10:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I had never noticed how much Tom M. looks like our own pinefox until now.

That picture of Lauren and Carey is just too lovely.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 26 April 2004 12:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Is anyone going to offer an explanation of that first picture...?

I like Stevem's shirt.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Monday, 26 April 2004 12:16 (twenty-two years ago)

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 26 April 2004 12:33 (twenty-two years ago)

mary turned up eventually, wearing an amazing coat. no phil-two or nabisco tho sadly. chris, vicky and the other BritX0rz were around but curiously absente from these pics. there should be more to come, hopefully one of me punching the air in delight/terror as i rode the Cyclone

Great pics! Nicely done. I've been to that bar, I think.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 26 April 2004 12:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Those photos are supercute.

cis (cis), Monday, 26 April 2004 12:53 (twenty-two years ago)

we added some messages to the bar toilets walls as appeared to be customary - declarations of Tombot superbadness and Sid Vicious quotes mainly. this should happen in London more (alongside staying open til 4am and the jukebox giving you FIFTEEN tracks for $5)

stevem (blueski), Monday, 26 April 2004 12:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Tombot superbadness = inarguable

Sid Vicious quotes = dubious

I think my fave has to be the lambic FITE. Tombot's off-to-the-side look there is priceless.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 26 April 2004 13:32 (twenty-two years ago)

carey is so photogenic. how annoying.

bnw (bnw), Monday, 26 April 2004 13:33 (twenty-two years ago)

andrew farrell - ha ha! is that a reference to some dubbed version of a Bruce Lee film? my wee brother was obsessed with some bit where a guy goes "you beautiful bastard".

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Monday, 26 April 2004 13:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I wish I could've gone.

hstencil, Monday, 26 April 2004 13:35 (twenty-two years ago)

me too :(

mandee, Monday, 26 April 2004 13:37 (twenty-two years ago)

i would kill for some funnel cake right now

stevem (blueski), Monday, 26 April 2004 13:39 (twenty-two years ago)

mmm funnel cake. i'll have to get an eclair and pretend it's funnel cake.

the beach pictures are really nice, reminds me of when i went to coney island.

i was in search of some friends who were supposed to be at some kind of "multicultural festival."

i asked for directions from some barky and he, um, barked at me: "what the fuck do i know?" ah new york.

eventually i found my friends wandering near nathan's, dazed. no one ever found the "multicultural festival."

amateur!st (amateurist), Monday, 26 April 2004 13:42 (twenty-two years ago)

no one ever found the "multicultural festival."

perhaps it was a very subtle one.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 26 April 2004 13:45 (twenty-two years ago)

it was actually just a multicultural ant farm, easy to miss

amateur!st (amateurist), Monday, 26 April 2004 13:46 (twenty-two years ago)

it was PERFECT Coney Island weather. when RJG was lying on the ground having fallen it was very hard not to attempt re-enacting beach scene from Warriors. i urge everyone to go on the Cyclone, only Madchen and I had the balls in the end. stepping off it gives you a newfound appreciation and gratitude for your life.

stevem (blueski), Monday, 26 April 2004 13:47 (twenty-two years ago)

the Cyclone does rule, indeed.

hstencil, Monday, 26 April 2004 13:49 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, when i was there it was vaguely overcast, which was perfect

the weather is beautiful everywhere this week from reports (london, paris, nyc)

amateur!st (amateurist), Monday, 26 April 2004 13:49 (twenty-two years ago)

stepping off it gives you a newfound appreciation and gratitude for your life.

Hahaha...so otm. The only words that go through my mind when Cycloning are "wood rot" and "metal fatigue".

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 26 April 2004 13:49 (twenty-two years ago)

You beautiful bastards.

The Beautiful Ones, they hurt you every time.

Tomorrow I quit my job and run off to NYC.

Barima (Barima), Monday, 26 April 2004 13:49 (twenty-two years ago)

""wood rot" and "metal fatigue""

two of the best metal albums ever

amateur!st (amateurist), Monday, 26 April 2004 13:50 (twenty-two years ago)

it's supposed to rain all week in nyc.

hstencil, Monday, 26 April 2004 13:51 (twenty-two years ago)

....and glasgow's lovely. what are the chances?

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Monday, 26 April 2004 13:52 (twenty-two years ago)

i like the one photo of the boardwalk especially, nice use of vanishing point

amateur!st (amateurist), Monday, 26 April 2004 13:57 (twenty-two years ago)

i was in a photo store the other day and there was a sign saying that they could "fix" photos in which people had red eyes. but how do they know what the correct eye colors are???

amateur!st (amateurist), Monday, 26 April 2004 13:58 (twenty-two years ago)

they just replace them with big goggly cartoonish eyes. as evident in the first pic of me

some of the photos go so well together. i'm thinking Ally's cleavage shot and Tom's subsequent expression specifically...

stevem (blueski), Monday, 26 April 2004 14:01 (twenty-two years ago)

that is a nice show of affection, from RJG and Ally C.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 26 April 2004 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

There are a whole lot of demon eyes up there. Avaunt! Looks like demonic fun is being had though.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 26 April 2004 14:43 (twenty-two years ago)

what a fun.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 26 April 2004 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Pete, Ally C, stevem and RJG arguing over the most curmudgeonly ILXor.

umm, is that Ron Jeremy in the background of that photo?!@#

also, is anyone going to the lotus bar tonite? im mad i missed last nite, but the thought of being near more alcohol was making me very ill.

phil-two (phil-two), Monday, 26 April 2004 15:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I think these are some of the best pictures of anything.

Cathy (Cathy), Monday, 26 April 2004 15:29 (twenty-two years ago)

yes.....yes they are

no it wasn't Ron Jeremy but the very very nice owner of the bar who to me resembles Arthur Baker more.

glad you are coming out later phil

stevem (blueski), Monday, 26 April 2004 15:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow, i forgot all about the FAP yesterday. Nice meeting the lot of you on Thursday, though!

Jay Vee (Manon_70), Monday, 26 April 2004 15:56 (twenty-two years ago)

cool photos, I like how Coney Island look totally deserted apart from one metal dude and ILXORs.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 26 April 2004 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

next time you go to the beach on a cloudy day, take a chess set and recreate the Seventh Seal!

jel -- (jel), Monday, 26 April 2004 16:18 (twenty-two years ago)

i was in a photo store the other day and there was a sign saying that they could "fix" photos in which people had red eyes. but how do they know what the correct eye colors are???

ha amateurist maybe you ARE the most curmudgeonly ilxor!

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 26 April 2004 16:40 (twenty-two years ago)

All of the pictures were great, this looked like a lot of fun.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Monday, 26 April 2004 16:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Yer all so BLOODY CUTE.

Who's that sideburn in the Tim fighting the man pic?

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Monday, 26 April 2004 17:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, after all of these pictures I have concluded I am not cute enough to FAP.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Monday, 26 April 2004 17:03 (twenty-two years ago)

STOP BEING SO SENSITIVE.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 26 April 2004 17:13 (twenty-two years ago)

So how can we forge a US passport for Stevem so he can stay forever?

Aaron W (Aaron W), Monday, 26 April 2004 17:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Couldn't you say that he's your cousin, and you could live like Perfect Strangers?

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Monday, 26 April 2004 17:15 (twenty-two years ago)

As funny as Stevem is, I dunno if he can touch the nonstop hilarity that was Bronson Pinchot/Balki Bartokomous.

My idea was that we swap identities and I'll go live in London for a while.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Monday, 26 April 2004 17:33 (twenty-two years ago)

As funny as Stevem is, I dunno if he can touch the nonstop hilarity that was Bronson Pinchot/Balki Bartokomous.

There are few people in this world who could.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Monday, 26 April 2004 17:42 (twenty-two years ago)

These are not photos. Anyone who was going to come tonight, this is where we are going. I'm going to be slightly later than my claims of 8pm yesterday. But I'll be there and if you are going to be there come at like 8.30. Ok that's it.

Allyzay, Monday, 26 April 2004 19:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm gonna be a little bit late because of some train troubles yesterday. But the reservation is at 8.30 under my name.

Allyzay, Monday, 26 April 2004 19:15 (twenty-two years ago)

fuck I can't go tonight either.

hstencil, Monday, 26 April 2004 19:16 (twenty-two years ago)

and if anyone wants to pass on this information because my phone refuses to recognize international phone #s please do.

Allyzay, Monday, 26 April 2004 19:19 (twenty-two years ago)

phil-two (phil-two), Monday, 26 April 2004 19:20 (twenty-two years ago)

You can't wait!!!

Carey (Carey), Monday, 26 April 2004 19:21 (twenty-two years ago)

aw, stencil.

carey, are you coming home?

RJG (RJG), Monday, 26 April 2004 19:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, I am leaving right now.

Carey (Carey), Monday, 26 April 2004 19:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I was about to leave, too!

RJG (RJG), Monday, 26 April 2004 19:24 (twenty-two years ago)

You can leave, that is ok. Why is aim not working?

Carey (Carey), Monday, 26 April 2004 19:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I was about to ask, too!

it works, from here. if I manage to leave, before you get back, I will probably end up w/ cooketc.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 26 April 2004 19:27 (twenty-two years ago)

i can't make it out for dinner, but people should come to see my finnish friends dj at lotus tonight. they're more fun than a barrel of frisky monkeys.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 26 April 2004 19:27 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, if I do not see you, I will call cookie and meet up for dinner later. I think I need a nap.

Carey (Carey), Monday, 26 April 2004 19:28 (twenty-two years ago)

"something tom" looks a lot like Mark E. Smith, no?

Also, you all look nice. I'd like to come to the next NYC FAP.

paulhw (paulhw), Monday, 26 April 2004 20:34 (twenty-two years ago)

we left early last night as the whole thing seems to be catching up with us, so very tired. It was nice bumping into so many brits at the Guggenheim though, we're going through guggenheims at a rate of one a month a at the moment.

chris (chris), Monday, 26 April 2004 20:38 (twenty-two years ago)

rjg = photogenic time one million

todd swiss (eliti), Monday, 26 April 2004 22:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, in real life he is quite the grotesque freak.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 26 April 2004 22:25 (twenty-two years ago)

he's nice though, eh?

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 26 April 2004 22:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Arr yeah - diamond.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 26 April 2004 22:44 (twenty-two years ago)

is anything going on tomorrow night (tuesday)?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 02:36 (twenty-two years ago)

It'll be Dial SteveM for Murdered when The Guv'nor finds out about that photograph.

In view of Tim's well-known aversion to having his picture taken, let alone published, let alone on the world wide menterweb, let alone without his permission, could a moderator not take that one down?

Mooro (Mooro), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 04:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Could a moderator not ask Tim himself first?

Dan I. (Dan I.), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 04:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Did anyone take stupid pictures of me when I was in NYC for No Fun Fest (that weekend is a blur)?

NUMBER 1 TERRY RILEY FAN (ex machina), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 04:24 (twenty-two years ago)

i think Tim should be proud of that photo and it would be a crying shame to see it go

so tonight we went for the Korean/Japanese food then KARAOKE, an entire bar empty except for our crew rinsing out the classics, from Wichita Lineman to U Can't Touch This and beyond, exfookincelsior

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 05:59 (twenty-two years ago)

RJG and Ally C's version of Macarthur Park brought tears to my eyes.

Allyzay, Tuesday, 27 April 2004 06:03 (twenty-two years ago)

haha, whose sleave is that in "optimistic lauren"'s picture?

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 06:20 (twenty-two years ago)

In view of Tim's well-known aversion to having his picture taken, let alone published, let alone on the world wide menterweb, let alone without his permission, could a moderator not take that one down?

NO! LEAVE IT UP! THIS HAS BEEN COMING FOR TOO LONG!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 07:46 (twenty-two years ago)

ILX goes a bit Lord of the Flies shocker.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 08:55 (twenty-two years ago)

marky mark c's LL Cool J.-esque backing rap/vocals were pretty great.

bnw (bnw), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 12:22 (twenty-two years ago)

ha ha. i made aaron w go over his maximum drink rule. he's adorable when he's had a few too many!

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 14:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I was wondering what the karaoke talk on Ally's show was about.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 14:51 (twenty-two years ago)

BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

oh yeah, i hope aaron w made it home okay. with those chairs.

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 15:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm so hungover. I somehow DID make it home with those chairs, but they're still wet and kind of stinky.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 15:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Gosh, this all looks great. Why oh why did we decide to fly back at least 24 hours before everyone else? Meaning three hours of sleep back at the Larchmont, meaning wandering up 5th Av at 2am looking for an ATM for our 5:30am cab ride, meaning much grouchy packing.

These photos are almost rich enough to compensate.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 15:43 (twenty-two years ago)

i totally forgot that aaron took those chairs until he mentioned it this morning. i need to be kept away from the demon drink for the rest of the week, please.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 15:47 (twenty-two years ago)

ummm if anyone's interested (i know lauren is!!), there's free top-shelf rum at APT tonite for an hour, then the Apples in Stereo & Apollo Sunshine are playing in williamsburg. i kinda want to see.

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 15:50 (twenty-two years ago)

the thought of RUM (top shelf or otherwise, light or dark, spiced or plain) just made my stomach go funny.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 15:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't know why I kept telling Aaron W. to rub the chairs with a dryer sheet, because I think I made that technique up.

Karaoke songs I remember doing:
Paint It Black
Gloria (w/ Ally)
Wannabe (w/Ally)
Creep (w/ Byron and Pete singing the high parts)
Crimson and Clover
Itchycoo Park (w/ rjg)

and who is Ma Coley?

Carey (Carey), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 16:13 (twenty-two years ago)

oh i think i remember doing
Sugar Sugar
Don't You Want Me (with ally)
Livin' on a Prayer (with ally)
Ice Ice Baby (i think i snatched the mic out of stevem's hand, threw him a gang sign and did a rap-duet with ally..)

SHAMBONE!@#

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 16:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I can remember I did:

dancing in the dark (slower than I/anyone else would have liked)
macarthur park (w/ cook)
reelin' in the years (")
summer in the city (")
dreadlock holiday (")
itchycoo park (w/ carey)
more than this (w/ cook)
video killed the radio star (")

who knows, if there were others?

pete was the star, as, I imagine, he always is.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 16:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Me: "Dancing Queen" and "We Built this City"

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 16:55 (twenty-two years ago)

This all sounds phenomenal.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 16:57 (twenty-two years ago)

dancing queen was wonderful.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 16:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't know why I kept telling Aaron W. to rub the chairs with a dryer sheet, because I think I made that technique up.

Oh that's cool... I had no idea what a dryer sheet is anyway so was probably nodding stupidly (stupidly drunk that is).

Aaron W (Aaron W), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:00 (twenty-two years ago)

dodgy home remedies abounded last night. after we got to lotus, one of my friends insisted that the way to cure my sinus infection was to blow cigarette smoke into my afflicted ear. he kept chasing me around trying to pin my head down, despite my dubiousness over effectiveness.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:05 (twenty-two years ago)

lauren have you been drinking enough water?

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Michael's rendition of "Dancing Queen" quite reminded me of Crispin Glover's rendition of "These Boots Were Made For Walking" actually. It just came to me what he was reminding me of!!!

I am so, so tired, I am going to go find a lawn and go fall asleep on it. I only sang one song by myself, "Baby One More Time", the rest of it was singing with Phil or Carey or Byron. NO I also sang "Sledgehammer" by myself, but stevem was standing quite near me so I almost forgot I was singing by myself.

oh I didn't get a chance to say this in person but speaking of stevem, that outfit was FANTASTIC.

Allyzay, Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:19 (twenty-two years ago)

waitaminute.......Ally C is male?

Haha, 3004th person to have said this on ilx in the past 3 years.

Did RJG really throw up in a cab last night? The rumour is all over NY.

I have had fun, so far. RJG and I duelled Webb-Harris style and had to suffer some mentalist's idea of what the words to Dreadlock Holiday should be ('I heard the dock-boys beside of me'?!!).

Some kind of ilx god was shining on our beautiful bodies last night.

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:22 (twenty-two years ago)

When are you coming home? I want to ravish you.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:27 (twenty-two years ago)

throwing up in a cab is hardcore nyc. way 2 go, rjg.

bnw (bnw), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Thursday for ravishing, Nick. Though I will aslepp, as usual.

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:29 (twenty-two years ago)

xpost Yes, now you are a real drunk. Next stop ginger brandy.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:32 (twenty-two years ago)

slopp john b.

I didn't throw up IN a taxi but ALL DOWN THE SIDE of one, maybe. I really couldn't say, with a great level of certainty.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:33 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, cook, how are you on the fucking internet, btw?

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:33 (twenty-two years ago)

There are these things called modems...

Allyzay, Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

You're all so f*ing hot, cripes!

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:43 (twenty-two years ago)

This picture thread needs more pictures.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I have more photos but they are quite boring, as singers kept turning around whenever the camera would go off, I can still post them anyway. I reckon Mark C's photos during karaoke seemed to be the better, because he was quite alright with getting up and switching position for the photo (I am lazy)

Allyzay, Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Wedding photos, people?!??!!

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Barry is the new Helmut Newton.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:47 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, more pictures now, or else I will just have to take photos of myself with my empire state and statue of liberty.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:47 (twenty-two years ago)

THAT'S SUPPOSED TO BE THREATENING, JEL????!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Allyzay, Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Almost everyone looks even cuter than I remember. Except Ally's breasts, which, truly, have always been ambrosial. Also, 'ey up you Scots, I heard good things about the kilts on Sat.

Laurel, Tuesday, 27 April 2004 18:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Is this the Laurel I think it is?

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 18:13 (twenty-two years ago)

actually, there are THREE open bars tonite, all at different times, so if anyone's still in town or something, call me.

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 18:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I seen photos of the kilt! Truly amazing! I've also heard tales of kilted men wandering Brooklyn alone, which is also amazing to me.

(ps HI LAUREL)

Allyzay, Tuesday, 27 April 2004 18:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Lauren and I have a blood oath not to drink tonight. And I'm thinking about going straight-edge (4 LIFE).

Aaron W (Aaron W), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 18:18 (twenty-two years ago)

hell yeah! i call bullshit on strange bruises and strange furniture. aaron and i will be high on life this evening.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 18:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, it's me, all right -- turning up like a bad penny. Sorry I missed everyone on the weekend because it sounds like it was a GRATE time. And Tim, if you read this kind of fluffy thread when you're not busy perusing very serious modern art galleries, I've got books for you.

Laurel, Tuesday, 27 April 2004 18:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Wedding photos, people?!??!!

Oh, loads, digital and analogue - BUT I thought I should ask for clearance from the Cee and the Vee before splashing the pixels AND thanks to the lethal combination of ASA400 film (note to self: check contents of canisters before blithely going off to shoot important pix), a nearby lake and a vast Manhattan sky dumping sheer buckets of light on every available surface, the SLR ones are overexposed and bleary-eyed.

But, this *might* work as a taster...

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 20:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Try again.

I give up.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 20:43 (twenty-two years ago)

That last picture showed up for me! It was very nice.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 20:44 (twenty-two years ago)

s'okay, I guess the Cabbages should give the say-so first.

(x-post - it didn't for me)

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 20:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Normally that ought to work by cutting and pasting the image URL into the address bar, but you may also have WebSense blocking it, as I do from here at work

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 27 April 2004 20:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Tried the cutting and pasting thing, but it didn't work.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 20:47 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, just go to http://photos.yahoo.com/tourajsig2 and have a good rummage around. There's only two wedding photos there now, I'll stick more up when it's appropriate.

(It was Pam manning the cheapo Kodak digi-toy, btw - and the results are so much more pleasing than the thirty quid's worth of prints from the Canon beast; like an magical piece of audio verite captured through a label mic onto MD vs a badly-mastered 220g double LP).

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 20:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Lapel mic. God, I'm having one - as Bigot Ron used to say.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 20:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Right, my PC hates me. Or doesn't want to let me look at Mike's photos.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 21:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Aww, thank you. That is gorgeous.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 21:18 (twenty-two years ago)

(I'm also quite moved, to be honest)

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 21:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Just grand! What a photo. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 21:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Vicky has stolen my new haircut. Except it suits her about a billion times more.

I love wedding photos. Mine were crap, but I still love them.

Yay again for the happy couple! And for nice weather, beautiful outfit, friends travelling far and wide, and everything else that would have made it a fantastic day!

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 21:24 (twenty-two years ago)

RJG was sputtering so i quickly rolled down the window and he threw up out of a moving taxi on the Williamsburg Bridge. How New York is that?

we should tell the story that we totally psyched ourselves out of finding a place to do karaoke but then this place on the bowery magically appeared in the rain and not a single person was in the bar and i asked the woman if there was karaoke and she said yes and i asked if there was anyone doing it and she said no and i asked if it was downstairs and she said yes and that there was only a 2 drink minimum and i figured we could sing a couple of songs and when we entered the karaoke room we knew we had found our mecca. That was some fucking fun that was.

Carey (Carey), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 00:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Carey (Carey), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 01:53 (twenty-two years ago)

So jealous... the Aus massive have to be so effing far away from everyone else, dont we!? :(

One of these days the Aus/Kiwi lot will get together, and there will be pix... oh yes there will...

(PS these pix are GRATE)

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 02:00 (twenty-two years ago)

dude Tom and I just decided that the reason why RJG came home perfectly intact in that outfit is because no gangsta in his right fucking mind wants to mess with a guy wandering around the ghetto in an outfit that insane. Quuite obviously he knows something they do not.

Allyzay, Wednesday, 28 April 2004 02:30 (twenty-two years ago)

In that photo he looks like the missing Scotsman from the Trans Europe Express cover

TOMBOT, Wednesday, 28 April 2004 02:38 (twenty-two years ago)

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 02:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I love the way that stevem goes from kraftwerk to wedding crooner in 2 photos.

In that photo he looks like the missing Scotsman from the Trans Europe Express cover

the most accurate thing ever said, the end

still reeling from how BEAUTIFUL the karaoke night was. i sang:

West End Girls (or West End Goats as i will now remember it - but trying to be in the right key oh dear), yet i scored a perfect 100 (for the first of about 4/5 times that night - taste defeat karaofakeys)
The Reflex
U Can't Touch This
various casual collabs with others e.g. 'Sledgehammer', 'Smooth Criminal' with Barry, falsettos an all
something else i can't remember

Pete's 'Immigrant Song' blew me away

great to see the photos - now more more more

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 18:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I am home, in glasgow, now, with so many bumps and bruises that I cannot even count or see most of them but that I know that I have. I think my shoulder may even be broken. as well as my heart!!!!!!!

what a wonderful weekend and what a wonderful either side of it.

thanks, to chris and vicky, for getting married and for picking the perfect place and the perfect day and having the perfect people present and everything else. thanks, to f, for working for only an hour, while I was visiting, and for letting me stay at her place and for arranging my days out and for giving me dinner and drinks and pocket money and for doing my laces and for helping me to spew a streak of sick down the side of a yellow taxi cab. I owe her about $999999999999 and my life, as it is. thanks, to everyone I hadn't met, before, for being nicer and friendlier and funnier than anyone would have imagined and thanks, to everyone I had met before, for being as great as ever. thanks, for all the photos and jokes. thanks, to jimmy webb and richard harris, for macarthur park. finally and unfortunately, thanks, to pete, ally C thinks I can laugh, too much, now.

cookie and I also sang band on the run, btw.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 18:57 (twenty-two years ago)

What are laces? I only helped with your trousers.

Carey (Carey), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 19:25 (twenty-two years ago)

did ally c dye his hair?

mandee, Wednesday, 28 April 2004 19:38 (twenty-two years ago)

no, he just let it go. I mean, grow.

I don't remember the trouser thing!!!! I wonder what else happened!!

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 19:40 (twenty-two years ago)

"for working for only an hour, while I was visiting"

ha i don't know if she deserves "thanks" for that

bnw (bnw), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 19:41 (twenty-two years ago)

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 19:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm so, so, ridiculously jealous. It looks like you've all just had the greatest week ever.

Now all of you NYCers come over to London and let us do the same for you!

I'm so happy that Stevem wore The Suit. But did you wear THE SHIRT?!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 19:54 (twenty-two years ago)

i'll be over in may, and i think part of my trip is going to coincide with carey's.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 20:07 (twenty-two years ago)

???

Mine and Tom's trip to London also coincides with Carey's. When are you going, Lauren?

Allyzay, Wednesday, 28 April 2004 21:27 (twenty-two years ago)

it's still a bit up in the air... i'll be in london by the 10th, for most of that week. glasgow over that weekend, i think?

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 22:49 (twenty-two years ago)

where were you, gabbbb?

you know me and my fun-hating ways

gabbneb (gabbneb), Thursday, 29 April 2004 04:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I am home. What Richard said, except, C did not help me with my trousers.

If it weren't such a corny thing to say, I might, say, NYC, rocks.

Congratulations to Christopher and Victoria Brown.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 29 April 2004 07:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Of course, I mean Christopher Brown and Victoria Parkinson.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 29 April 2004 07:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 29 April 2004 08:04 (twenty-two years ago)

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 29 April 2004 08:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Back at work, bright and breezy. Yowsewr what a week. Congrats to C&V and thank you to lovely NYC-ers (esp Ally who allowed me on the airwaves) and see y'all soon.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 29 April 2004 09:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I think I will stay awake forever.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 29 April 2004 10:17 (twenty-two years ago)

bnw (bnw), Thursday, 29 April 2004 12:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Thanks, B.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 29 April 2004 12:02 (twenty-two years ago)

RJG is the best cartoonist in the world btwfyi

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 29 April 2004 13:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm so jealous. It's like the best school exchange programme that never happened.

It's also been responsible for me singing nothing but Tom Waits' Coney Island Girl for the last few days. This wouldn't be so bad, but I don't know many of the words.

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 29 April 2004 13:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I want to see RJG's drawings. Maybe he will post them?

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 29 April 2004 13:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Substitute the lyrics with ILX specific references.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 29 April 2004 13:19 (twenty-two years ago)

we could buy a scanner for RJG if he doesnt have one. it would be worth it.

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 29 April 2004 14:08 (twenty-two years ago)

stevem is, somewhat, overplaying my hand, haha.

I have a scanner but it is in my flatmate's bedroom and I think only one drawing may be acceptable. maybe later!

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 29 April 2004 14:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, buy RJG another scanner. You stupid suckers.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 29 April 2004 14:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, please do not put that one drawing up, R.

Carey (Carey), Thursday, 29 April 2004 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

And how about that, I am not doing any work again.

Carey (Carey), Thursday, 29 April 2004 14:27 (twenty-two years ago)

this is getting ridiculous. i'm telling your supervisor.

lauren (laurenp), Thursday, 29 April 2004 14:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Dear Ms. C:

We are very dismayable at the rate at which you are getting our clearances done. Your disregard for the US Government's efficiently policy is shocking and disenchantening. You are fired.

Sincerely,
George W. Bush

George W. Bush, Thursday, 29 April 2004 14:58 (twenty-two years ago)

huh!

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 29 April 2004 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Dear Ms. C:

Please disregard my supervisor's previous missive. He was online searching for porn and is just pissed off because all he found is this stupid website with pictures of some man's ass standing on a beach and now Colin and I are calling him a fag. You are no longer fired.

Sincerely,
"Big" Dick Cheney

Dick Cheney, Thursday, 29 April 2004 15:09 (twenty-two years ago)

It's also been responsible for me singing nothing but Tom Waits' Coney Island Girl for the last few days. This wouldn't be so bad, but I don't know many of the words.

Ha! Its been Lou Reed's 'Coney Island Baby' for me!

"the glory of love, might see you through"

Mooro (Mooro), Thursday, 29 April 2004 15:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Dear Ms. C,

I did not fight in six World Wars so you could get a notebook with a badge on it.

P.S. Has anyone seen a medal? About yay wide?

Regards,
J Kerry.

J Kerry, Thursday, 29 April 2004 15:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Ooh, will I get to meet Ally and Millar and Lauren? I hope so. Carey too, but we have met a few times. I'll be in Barcelona from the 15th-18th of May, so I hope there are some FAP opportunities before/after then.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 29 April 2004 16:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I have been singing Mercury Rev's 'Coney Island Cyclone'.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 29 April 2004 16:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I've been singing islands in the stream.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 29 April 2004 16:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Grow a beard!

Mooro (Mooro), Thursday, 29 April 2004 16:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought he should get a Dolly Parton wig.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Thursday, 29 April 2004 16:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I will get a dolly parton wig, when tim grows a beard.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 29 April 2004 16:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Sounds like one of those 'when hell freezes over' deals.

Mooro (Mooro), Thursday, 29 April 2004 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

the only song I know which references Coney Island is the Ramones "oh oh I love her so", I'll sing that.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 29 April 2004 16:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Strange Powers.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 29 April 2004 16:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Why aren't you asleep, Ally C?

Mooro (Mooro), Thursday, 29 April 2004 17:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I've been singing islands in the stream

And now I am, too.

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 29 April 2004 17:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm going to be in London the 19th thru the 23rd.

Allyzay, Thursday, 29 April 2004 17:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I haven't slept in 27 hours. Why start now?

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 29 April 2004 17:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Is your beautiful girlfriend asleep? I want to ask her a favour.

Mooro (Mooro), Thursday, 29 April 2004 17:12 (twenty-two years ago)

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 29 April 2004 17:14 (twenty-two years ago)

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 29 April 2004 17:14 (twenty-two years ago)

we saw a stretch hummer, didn't we?

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 29 April 2004 17:18 (twenty-two years ago)

What are the chances of us kidnapping Dan, Ned, Jess, Mary and Felicity and getting them all over here at the same time?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 29 April 2004 17:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Probably when RJG gets a dolly parton wig.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Thursday, 29 April 2004 17:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh baby.

(Needless to say I would love some sorta megaFAP like that to happen!)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 29 April 2004 17:40 (twenty-two years ago)

FREE TRIP TO ENGLAND! I'M PACKING MY VENGABAGS!

(ooh I typoed "VENGAVAGS" oh dear oh dear oh dear although they'd probably be the most festive, perkiest vaginas ever)

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 29 April 2004 17:42 (twenty-two years ago)

David - She will be awake. In her house. Actually, it's more like 29 hours. How time flies.

Dolly wig plan is GO.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 29 April 2004 17:42 (twenty-two years ago)

The VENGABUS is coming

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 29 April 2004 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Answerphone. Perhaps she is sensibly asleep. Will try again tomoorow.

Will it only take a wig for Jack to look like Dolly? Would he not need any further, adjustments?

Mooro (Mooro), Thursday, 29 April 2004 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Things I did today:
Woke up at 10am
Ate scrambled eggs
Im'd
Refreshed ILx too many times
Sent one work related fax about impending vacation
Made one work related phone call
Went to bank
Bought T shirt and skirt
Met Lauren for sushi and gyoza
Ate soft serve ice cream cone with rainbow sprinkles at Union Sq.
Bought CD
Read Timeout, now on to Vogue

I think I am all tuckered out, although I was hoping for a severence package upon being fired.

Carey (Carey), Thursday, 29 April 2004 19:10 (twenty-two years ago)

It is because of people like you that people on my contract are getting paid six figures to sit around and do nothing while they wait on their TS/SCI packages to go through. No offense, but I suspect as a fellow taxpayer you might sympathize a little.

TOMBOT, Thursday, 29 April 2004 19:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude Carey's getting paid in the six figures, weren't you there when she told us all that and started ostentaciously lighting g-notes on fire at the FAP?

Allyzay, Thursday, 29 April 2004 19:30 (twenty-two years ago)

those were my g-notes, unfortunately, and, also, she set fire to my hair.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 29 April 2004 19:34 (twenty-two years ago)

carey go bling

bnw (bnw), Thursday, 29 April 2004 19:39 (twenty-two years ago)

dude, i do more work than anyone in manhattan. i can't help my extreme multi tasking skillz.

Carey (Carey), Thursday, 29 April 2004 19:41 (twenty-two years ago)

well, more ilxors in manhattan at least.

Allyzay, Thursday, 29 April 2004 19:42 (twenty-two years ago)

oh yeah, i meant more work that anyone in my position in manhattan. and ilxors too.

Carey (Carey), Thursday, 29 April 2004 19:43 (twenty-two years ago)

actually probably not more than most ilxors.

But I have to ride the subway a lot more. That counts.

Carey (Carey), Thursday, 29 April 2004 19:48 (twenty-two years ago)

you should have a free taxi pass, I think.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 29 April 2004 19:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Carey I have no problem imagining that you do more work than anybody else in ***'s NYC office. I can't wait until they find out that Ally quit her job and moved, that's going to take them MONTHS to even FATHOM.

My SF86 went in Dec. 3rd.

Can I use your post as an office joke, and forward it around from my work e-mail, though? (edited by Martin to remove Carey's employers' name)

TOMBOT, Thursday, 29 April 2004 20:14 (twenty-two years ago)

you can do whatever you like that helps you get through the day.

I don't understand what ally has to do with that though, unless she is a registered alien from a hostile country that has incarcerated relatives or something.

Carey (Carey), Thursday, 29 April 2004 20:39 (twenty-two years ago)

i always assumed most ally's relatives were in prison

bnw (bnw), Thursday, 29 April 2004 20:45 (twenty-two years ago)

carey works for the KGB?!

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 29 April 2004 22:53 (twenty-two years ago)

We all work for the KGB.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 29 April 2004 23:16 (twenty-two years ago)

damn you espirit de l'escalier!!!!!

amateur!st (amateurist), Friday, 30 April 2004 01:40 (twenty-two years ago)

HELLO! I am awake and no longer feeling like a zombie. This page is making me wish I was back in NY eating lobster for the same price as a main course at the Harvester :-( I will get my photos developed tomorrow.

Thank you so much to everyone who took us fooding/drinking/cycloning/singing. I hope you will come to Glasgow soon and let us return the favour.

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 30 April 2004 19:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Hello hello. What wonderful pictures! Alas I am now about 10 pounds heavier than when they were taken, thanks to hearty New England fare.

I'll put up a selection of mine too, probably tomorrow. Be warned, Phil pics will be among them.

Fuckin' rad few days, y'all.

Markelby (Mark C), Sunday, 2 May 2004 12:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 3 May 2004 11:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 3 May 2004 14:20 (twenty-two years ago)

delete the .jpg and retype the .jpg press return, this worked for me.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 3 May 2004 15:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay, here we go. Yahoo comes to the rescue. Can someone confirm they can see these wonderful pictures? There'll be more to come if so.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 3 May 2004 15:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Hang on, I think I've made the same mistake as madchen. Try this instead.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 3 May 2004 15:11 (twenty-two years ago)

nope, can't see any photos there :(

jel -- (jel), Monday, 3 May 2004 15:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Can you get to the main page but then it won't let you look at the pics? That's what's happeneing to me.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 3 May 2004 15:13 (twenty-two years ago)

It doesn't stop me, but the photo album is empty, as far as I can see.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 3 May 2004 15:21 (twenty-two years ago)

But it isn't! There are 17 pictures of people having fun! I can't be arsed to link to them one by one - but just in case, can you tell me if this works?

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 3 May 2004 15:25 (twenty-two years ago)

new york, new york.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 3 May 2004 15:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay, my bad. I didn't realise you have to make them public before others can view them. Try ONCE AGAIN, dear friends.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 3 May 2004 15:29 (twenty-two years ago)

now work, now work.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 3 May 2004 15:31 (twenty-two years ago)

GLASWEGIANS! Do not get your films developed in Photo Factory on Sauchiehall Street!

I had to get a second set done in Boots and take them back to Photo Factory so they could compare the two before I got a refund. Look, Mr Photo Factory, do you see that your picture:

(a) is very dark
(b) is oversized - I did not ask for large prints and now this will not fit in my fancy, expensive photo album
(c) is kinda grainy and will scan bad
(d) is cut badly, so you get the edge of the next photo along the right hand side of the print
(e) is missing large chunks of the picture I actually took, for example about an inch from the top and another inch from the side
(f) has the date printed very visibly in the middle of the picture and, actually, it's not burned onto the negative because look, Boots have miraculously printed it on the back so as not to ruin my photos!!!???

My hands were shaking and my voice went funny - that's how much I *hate* complaining, but I did get my money back (perhaps I was also making up for the non-complaining about the hotel mix-up)

Anyway, I will now scan the nice Boots photies now and they will gradually appear here http://uk.f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/madchen_in_uniform

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 3 May 2004 15:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow, that was quite a long rant.

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 3 May 2004 15:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay, here are the rest of my pictures. That's it, hope you like them.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 3 May 2004 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Nice photos, Barry.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Monday, 3 May 2004 16:25 (twenty-two years ago)

The Phil/Madchen action shots (if you will) are great.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 3 May 2004 16:31 (twenty-two years ago)

In picture 4, it looks like Pete has turned Steve off.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 3 May 2004 16:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I know. They should have been a film, or at least a flick-book.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 3 May 2004 16:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Carey and I look very dismayed in all of your karaoke photos, Mark.

Allyzay, Monday, 3 May 2004 18:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Madchen, that taxi shot is a killer! Too far away to tell who the three well-dressed squatters are, though.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Monday, 3 May 2004 18:11 (twenty-two years ago)

it's sean penn, john leguizamo and joan rivers.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 3 May 2004 18:12 (twenty-two years ago)

sydney pollack is around the corner, getting them all some coffee.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 3 May 2004 18:13 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, that's all my pictures done

http://uk.f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/madchen_in_uniform

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 3 May 2004 19:02 (twenty-two years ago)

wow. i'm so mesmerized by the glow of the jukebox.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 3 May 2004 19:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Who knew corpses clean up so well?

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Monday, 3 May 2004 19:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Either the Voice needs to invest in new computer monitors or I developed rosacea the night of karaoke.

Carey (Carey), Monday, 3 May 2004 19:22 (twenty-two years ago)

good girl. blame the monitors, not the excessive alcohol consumption.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 3 May 2004 19:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Hmm. Does Yahoo have bandwidth restrictions? I can't see Madchen's any more after looking at two or three. And Ally, you have a shit-eating grin (NB British expression for v wide grin in case you think it's rude) in most of those pictures, so :P

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 3 May 2004 19:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I have never heard the expression "shit-eating grin" before in my entire life.

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 3 May 2004 20:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I was gonna say, you're explaining to an AMERICAN what a shit-eating grin is????

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 3 May 2004 20:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm standing next to Tim in all these suited and booted pictures, we look like bouncers at a picnic.

Dickerson Pike (Dickerson Pike), Monday, 3 May 2004 20:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes Mark, that isn't a British expression, it's American!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 3 May 2004 21:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Would the British version be "shite-eating grin", perchance?

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 3 May 2004 22:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I actually blame the flourescent purple walls for those photos, Carey.

Allyzay, Monday, 3 May 2004 23:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, whatever, I just didn't want anyone to think I was rude. My mother has a lot to answer for.

(p.s. more pix)

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 12:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Aw, lovely photos as well.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 12:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Mmmm Poxy Flakes

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 16:12 (twenty-two years ago)

YOU HAVE ONLY YOURSELF TO BLAME FOR THAT ONE.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I have some photos

(here)

if anyone would like to see.

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 16:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Why did RJG have tape on his face?

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 16:26 (twenty-two years ago)

The question should be - why did RJG NOT have tape on his face?

Tape is default.

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 00:32 (twenty-two years ago)

The saltwater taffy I brought back for the office is still sitting on the side unopened. It seems to compare unfavourably with the shortbread that somebody else brought in on the same day, which is almost gone :(((((

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 6 May 2004 12:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe I should just take it home and have it for dinner tonight.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 6 May 2004 12:24 (twenty-two years ago)

SEND IT TO ME PLZ

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 6 May 2004 13:24 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm going to scan in all the Russian candy wrappers i saved

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 6 May 2004 13:41 (twenty-two years ago)

then dress in brown and listen to de roubaix

tonight matthew i'm going to be gareth (blueski), Thursday, 6 May 2004 13:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Stevem, did you run off with the bag of Russian candy wrappers that I took great care to save when we were at dba? DID YOU?

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 6 May 2004 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

you don't need to answer that, stevem.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 6 May 2004 14:08 (twenty-two years ago)

i think they may have got mixed up - i had a load left and shared them out but asked people to save the wrappers - i probably have some of yours as well as mine sorry. i can send them to you, a new one each morning.

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 6 May 2004 14:09 (twenty-two years ago)

If they were all together in one plastic bag, they were the ones I was saving. GRRRRRR. If you scan them individually and send them to me or put them somewhere I can download them, I will forgive you (I planned to create the best screensaver ever and then chuck them away so we should probably share like good children).

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 6 May 2004 14:16 (twenty-two years ago)

where were the ones i was saving then? or were you saving mine as well? or perhaps STEALING THEM FOR YOURSELF? Grrr is right. Russian Candy Wrapper FITE

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 6 May 2004 14:18 (twenty-two years ago)

we have hundreds of photos (none of the wedding day though natch) But once again, thanks everyone!!!!!!

chris (chris), Thursday, 6 May 2004 20:25 (twenty-two years ago)

i forgot my bag of candy when i left, but i trust it found a good home. i'm quite happy to have created new russian candy enthusiasts.

lauren (laurenp), Thursday, 6 May 2004 20:33 (twenty-two years ago)

most of it was disgusting tho

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 6 May 2004 21:54 (twenty-two years ago)

It was, truly, horrible.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 6 May 2004 23:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Some of that shit was good. Especially the one in the purple wrapper that translated to 'Unmentionable Berry.' When I'm in Brighton Beach I fixate on the abundance of smoked fish but I will be paying more attention to the candies.

Dickerson Pike (Dickerson Pike), Friday, 7 May 2004 00:44 (twenty-two years ago)

russian candy is the bomb as are russians besides tolstoye.

anyway i like all of these photos even thos in many of them i look like crap i still liek them, because they remind me of things. it is poignnt in a way. i still thing cary and i look so off put in all thhe photos of us together, like we are being foreced at gunpoint to sung Gloria.

allyzay, Friday, 7 May 2004 07:39 (twenty-two years ago)

you sang it like you were

stevem (blueski), Friday, 7 May 2004 10:53 (twenty-two years ago)

The saltwater taffy was opened today. There was much discussion about how disgusting it was. I don't think they realised it was from me.

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 7 May 2004 11:40 (twenty-two years ago)

In spite of the fact that it said CONEY ISLAND SALTWATER TAFFY on the box and nobody else has been anywhere near New York lately.

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 7 May 2004 11:41 (twenty-two years ago)

was ally wasted when she typed that? that looked like C. on aim.

Last night I dreamt that much of the same crew was going to do karaoke again, except this time Thom Yorke was going with us. He was already being crabby that he didn't want to sing radiohead songs all night long.

bnw (bnw), Friday, 7 May 2004 12:13 (twenty-two years ago)

We are singing karaoke again in June. B, call Thom Yorke and this could happen.

Ally is ridunkalous in that post.

Carey (Carey), Friday, 7 May 2004 13:24 (twenty-two years ago)

two years pass...
New planZ0r for Coney Island: classic or dud?

I have to say I think it looks kind of awesome!
