"After the wedding couple exchanged platinum bands, the guests dined on a spread of chicken tenders, crab cakes, ribs, and Waldorf salad, the magazine said.
And fo the newlywed's first dance? Superstar Britney and her professional dancer hubby chose the old prom hit "Lights" by Journey - played on a boombox, the Star reported."

So why am I wasting time talking about this? New topic -- TS: Aiming to catch the bouquet/garter at a wedding reception vs. NOT aiming to catch the bouquet/garter at a wedding reception. I choose NOT aiming to catch the bouquet.

Nath, what if he'd died rather than divorcing her? People get by with only one parent all the time. You think being in a crappy marriage with fighting is better than being out of a destructive environment because of some notion of the perfect nuclear family?

(note i'm not commenting on Britney OR K-Fed's ability to raise children separately or together, but plenty of kids survive without both parents being around for whatever reason, though this is probably another thread, which we've probably already done)

Nath, what if he'd died rather than divorcing her? People get by with only one parent all the time. You think being in a crappy marriage with fighting is better than being out of a destructive environment because of some notion of the perfect nuclear family?

Uh, death is something entirely different (and will also have a big impact on the upbringing of the child). I mean, you can't compare the two. I don't understand why people are so cheerful about this. I really don't. Why do they ridicule him? I find it pathetic. It's only because she has all the money and he's the *loser*.

I think fighting for a marriage is much better than divorce.

Nathalie (stevie nixed), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 11:23 (nineteen years ago)

ONIMO ph34rz teh NOIZE (GerryNemo), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 11:29 (nineteen years ago)

I'm glad your life is that simplistic. I do realise there's a different between someone dying and someone being kicked out, I'm not a complete moron, but to say that kids NEED their dads, even if their dad is, for example, a selfish violent bastard (note to K-Fed's lawyers, I'm abstracting here, not actually basing this on this case itself), is ridiculous. I know plenty people without one, other, or both, parents for any number of reasons, and I can't even begin to imagine, nor would I want to, how they'd be better off if things had been different.

(obv, I have no idea about baby Spears-Federline x 2 because I don't know them, but taking a universal view on what families need to be like isn't always wise)

BBC reduced to trawling thru non-entity webpages for snappy judgements:

Sadly for Federline, the majority of people writing on the internet already seem to have sided with his soon-to-be-former wife.

"Britney Spears got rid of 150 pounds of dead weight," wrote Steve on his Myspace blog. "She got rid of Kevin Federline".

"Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Ring the bells and release the doves!" added Wanda on her Livespace page.

However, others were slightly more considerate.

"I will never celebrate the ending of a marriage," wrote Someboy0716 on the message boards at popjustice.com.

"However, I will say I much prefer Britney without K-Fed and I can't wait for her new music".

Somebody at the Beeb got paid for their time there. Or maybe it was knocked up by the cleaner oer a lunchbreak.

She felt he had deserted her and left her to bring up their two children on her own.

All the lines are hilarious in that article but this one is just... NOES. Britney, you have a legion of nannies, bring two kids up "on your own" is a bit of an exaggeration.

She made the demonic cry after scrawling the devil's number "666" across her head.

Fedde Le Line has shaved his head too, as a tribute to her, apparently. (I'm not saying he's a gold digger, but still, hen fap, eh?)
