Bravo!

Alba (Alba), Monday, 31 July 2006 12:39 (nineteen years ago)

DJ Martian is such a fanny thank god he won't read this and find out!!!

didn't watch bb this weekend except fri

RJG (RJG), Monday, 31 July 2006 12:39 (nineteen years ago)

i basically just watch russell.

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 31 July 2006 12:41 (nineteen years ago)

i sttole this thread title idea off momus TBH.

what's this thread got to do with DJ Martian?

jed_ (jed), Monday, 31 July 2006 12:42 (nineteen years ago)

amateurist, surely?

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 31 July 2006 12:43 (nineteen years ago)

amateurit> then momus said it should be used as a template for all theads & suggested big brother ones. then i stopped reading that thread.

jed_ (jed), Monday, 31 July 2006 12:45 (nineteen years ago)

"I don't like these thread titles anymore" [/aisleyne]

zebedee (zebedee), Monday, 31 July 2006 12:46 (nineteen years ago)

DJ Martian doesn't like bb, was just using this as a DJ Martian free zone to call him a fanny, so as not to hurt his feelings

RJG (RJG), Monday, 31 July 2006 12:50 (nineteen years ago)

new thread = genius

*doffs cap*

teh_kit is jayne's biggest fan (g-kit), Monday, 31 July 2006 12:52 (nineteen years ago)

I remember in the old days, around thread 3 or 4, when people would object to having choice language in their BB threads for fear of having such words visible on workplace computers.

Happier times...

Onimo (GerryNemo), Monday, 31 July 2006 13:40 (nineteen years ago)

it was me that objected :(

jed_ (jed), Monday, 31 July 2006 13:41 (nineteen years ago)

if the boss can read a thread title, s/he's standing too close.

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 31 July 2006 13:44 (nineteen years ago)

Aye, but now switching tabs or minimising when he appears is not an option as "fuck fake tits" is still clearly visible on screen.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Monday, 31 July 2006 13:46 (nineteen years ago)

Well if he complains you can say: "So you're in favour of fake tits then? Don't you think that's inappropriate in the workplace?"

Alba (Alba), Monday, 31 July 2006 13:48 (nineteen years ago)

just ask him if he thinks diddy-rides are only for the naturally bosomy and if he says yes just gather up your stuff & storm out.

jed_ (jed), Monday, 31 July 2006 13:51 (nineteen years ago)

That was the best hour of Big Brother ever. 55 minutes of them arsing around in all manner of ways and then BIG SINISTER CLIFFHANGER at the end.

"You have pressed six. You have pressed nine."
"Hur hur, sixty-nine."

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 31 July 2006 21:08 (nineteen years ago)

It is said that if I appear on a Big Brother thread, ILE will collapse into rubble.

Momus (Momus), Monday, 31 July 2006 21:13 (nineteen years ago)

It didn't work!

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 31 July 2006 21:16 (nineteen years ago)

wierd, sam just phoned saying "that was a GREAT big brother"
me: "that was CRAP"

jed_ (jed), Monday, 31 July 2006 21:34 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, it was pretty dull, save for Glyn's face in the diary room.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 31 July 2006 21:36 (nineteen years ago)

the automated voice just started giving me a headache.

jed_ (jed), Monday, 31 July 2006 21:41 (nineteen years ago)

I thought it was good!

pete & aisleyne & richard, a bit, doing funny voices in the mirror

aisleyene w/ the maltesers and drool

suzie I am fed up of, now. first she didn't even occur to me that much but she doesn't like rounders and thinks that larking about and making a mess is "not the thing to do" and she doesn't "like it" etc etc etc what a boring old bore

RJG (RJG), Monday, 31 July 2006 22:02 (nineteen years ago)

genius thread title.

i didn't think much of tonight's show, FWIW. i'm intrigued by the "you have been evicted" voice, but not that intrigued.

suzie is going to have a breakdown, isn't she? or snap and kill them all.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Monday, 31 July 2006 22:02 (nineteen years ago)

i'd watch that.

jed_ (jed), Monday, 31 July 2006 22:04 (nineteen years ago)

i'd tape it for posterity, i think.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Monday, 31 July 2006 22:36 (nineteen years ago)

best bit about tonight: pete and glyn in the diary room. they should do a spin-off where they lock pete and glyn in a room together for a couple of weeks and feed them booze/weed/acid/crack/etc. that would be ace.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Monday, 31 July 2006 22:37 (nineteen years ago)

Apparently Glyn and Mikey have been arguing.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 31 July 2006 22:38 (nineteen years ago)

Please say they are fighting over Imogen. I fear I will be disappointed here.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 08:28 (nineteen years ago)

No, I think it was over the washing-up.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 08:29 (nineteen years ago)

they were arguing over who was the more lazy i think

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 08:31 (nineteen years ago)

"I am!"
"No I am!"
"Okay you are, I can't be arsed arguing."

Onimo (GerryNemo), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 08:49 (nineteen years ago)

Last night was the first highlights show in ages I've watched, and I really quite enjoyed it. I'm kind of intrigued by the fact the housemates are comepletely aware of two really good camera positions and feel the need to 'perform' to them, and also the increasing trend to dress up for eviction night whether you're up for eviction or not (presumably because that's when you're 'really' on the telly). It's almost like they've forgotten they're being filmed the whole time.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 09:15 (nineteen years ago)

jed's not going to like this

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 09:15 (nineteen years ago)

creepy, weird guy.

Enrique (Enrique), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 09:46 (nineteen years ago)

Can it really be called creepiness when women keep falling in love with you?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 09:49 (nineteen years ago)

You struggle with this daily, I know, Matt.

Mikey was a loner.
Mikey was a bully.

It's funny the way these classmates get dragged up by the papers.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 10:03 (nineteen years ago)

It's almost like they've forgotten they're being filmed the whole time.

Yes.

They also seem to believe that Big Brother is actually on holiday, that there's an entity that's left the house for a few days in Margaret. That there aren't still dozens of people all around them every day filming them.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 10:35 (nineteen years ago)

I liked Pete's response to Glyn's pick-a-shape bed jumping (quality "welly boot" mime btw) - "I wish I was 18!"

Onimo (GerryNemo), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 10:36 (nineteen years ago)

instead of 12

Enrique (Enrique), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 10:38 (nineteen years ago)

> I liked Pete's response to Glyn's pick-a-shape bed jumping (quality "welly boot" mime btw) - "I wish I was 18!"

"Duck Billed Platypus". liked the way pete was trying to make them impossible but glynn was having a go anyway.

the Nob thing was funny as well.

as was the Margaret thing.

is BB away for the whole week. how will nominations work if he is?

Koogy Yonderboy (koogs), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 11:06 (nineteen years ago)

Glyn and Jennie are currently trying to remember Alanis Morissette lyrics. Glyn bought "Jagged Little Pill" for £5.99. The fun never stops.

Mikey's arguing with Jennie and it's all Pete's fault.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 13:30 (nineteen years ago)

glyn playing with the phone dialler thingeh was CLASSIC.

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 13:35 (nineteen years ago)

Apparently the automated nominations system has announced Imogen is up for eviction, but then broke down before it could list who else is. This is quite a good mean trick to play, I think.

JimD (JimD), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 15:33 (nineteen years ago)

So, it's rumoured to be Imogen, Jennie, Mikey and Susie.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 18:49 (nineteen years ago)

just heard pete say something along the lines of "i wonder if big brother is coming back... he's only gone to margate. i don't think there's much to do there for more than a few days" WTF? is this guy 5 years old? does he still believe in santa?

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 19:10 (nineteen years ago)

I think he is just playing along.

BB has put in an incredible number of boring housemates this year. I thought they had worked out by now that it is only by having good characters that the show becomes interesting. Out of all the thousands of people that applied, surely they could have found better than Mikey, Susie, Imogen and Jennie. I suppose it's not always easy to predict who will become a great housemate (Glyn and Stuart come to mind as people who I thought seemed rubbish in their intro VTs and grew to find really entertaining), but BB observes people for a while before choosing them to go in, so how can they not filter out the dullards?

Cathy (Cathy), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 19:52 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, they're all just going along with the conceit, jed. I don't think he really thinks BB has gone to Margate.

Mikey, just now. Calm down mate don't take things to heart you've got to take a joke you shouldn't take things to heart I was just having a joke with ya don't take things to heart calm down mate don't take things to heart you've got to take a joke you shouldn't take things to heart I was just having a joke with ya don't take things to heart

SUDDENLY MIKEY MUST GO.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 19:53 (nineteen years ago)

JENNIE IS NOT BORING SHE MAKES CONSTANT REFERENCES TO ANAL SEX.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 19:53 (nineteen years ago)

yeah, she is a bit cheeky, a bit naughty, not like anyone else they've had before etc

Cathy (Cathy), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 19:56 (nineteen years ago)

I'm a fan of automated Big Brother. Susie and the hold music was genius - exactly the right housemate to torment with that.

Mikey's going because of editing.

chap who would dare to start Raaatpackin (chap), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 20:03 (nineteen years ago)

i'm not so sure about pete playing along.

that suzie being on hold thing was irritating as fuck for her but madenning for the viewer.

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 20:04 (nineteen years ago)

yeah but why say it's always mikey? is it always mikey? why say it's always mikey when it's not always mikey? is it always mikey, yeah, but is it always mikey? is it always mikey? why say it's always mikey? well, then, why say it's always mikey? is it always mikey?

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 20:09 (nineteen years ago)

but susie to go

she is terrible

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 20:10 (nineteen years ago)

Mikey and Richard are actually quite a lot alike at their worst. Domineering self-righteous arseholes. But I guess they're fine with you if you're in their good books and don't try standing up to them.

that suzie being on hold thing was irritating as fuck for her but madenning for the viewer.

On the money.

i'm not so sure about pete playing along.

Off the money.

Mikey's going because of editing.

All talk of editing should be banned. We should embrace what we're given.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 20:18 (nineteen years ago)

the susie on hold thing was maddening but funny

she's so stupid

even, after the fourth time the music had stopped and restarted, when it stopped, again, she was all "ooh, here we go" NO WE OBVIOUSLY DON'T

"this stupid music is starting to get to me" REALLY

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 20:23 (nineteen years ago)

I just found it boring and irritating.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 20:24 (nineteen years ago)

it was interesting when nikki said on richard & judy that often BB in the diary room is just silent for 5 minutes or so before responding, and how it drove her mad. or they'd call her in and then make her wait for ages before speaking. that would drive me mad, too.

Cathy (Cathy), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 20:25 (nineteen years ago)

In Spiral news, it was nice to see on BBLB that his "I'm Spiral, this is who I am" rap is genuine and is getting a release due to public demand in Ireland. And to see no sign that he realises the demand is caused by its comic value.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 20:30 (nineteen years ago)

Susie on hold was great. Perhaps I just like to see horrible people intentionally irritated.

The Ultimate Conclusion (lokar), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 20:31 (nineteen years ago)

Out of all the thousands of people that applied, surely they could have found better than Mikey, Susie, Imogen and Jennie.

b-b-but they didn't "find" Susie. She won fair and square through the media of Kit-Kats and an independently-adjudicated not-fixed-at-all lottery! Mods! De-index! Litigation ahoy!! Damn us for suggesting Susie was "found"!

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 21:28 (nineteen years ago)

Susie is definitely going over Mikey. Although I fear for Jennie somewhat.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 21:43 (nineteen years ago)

Last year's BB had bigger dullards in it, I think - Vanessa, Sam, Orlaith, and Anthony was only more interesting than Mikey due to the Craig scenario.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 21:47 (nineteen years ago)

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 07:39 (nineteen years ago)

Also Jennie is classic.

Suzie obviously must go, I agree.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 07:40 (nineteen years ago)

i missed yesterday's show, but i've not noticed Jenny doing much at all. she blends into the walls as well as Mikey did for the first 8 weeks.

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 07:41 (nineteen years ago)

The Susie-on-hold thing would have been funny if it had been anyone other than Susie... that's anyone on Planet Earth... she's so dim she's incapable of doing or saying anything interesting. How can anyone other than her be evicted!

Doi Doing! (Dada), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 07:44 (nineteen years ago)

SO WRONG. I was funny BECAUSE it was Susie, because it irritated her more than anyone else, and a spoilt mumsy strop is funny.

It doesn't matter at this late stage. They don't have to be interesting or do anything any more, you just have to like them.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 07:46 (nineteen years ago)

> I thought they had worked out by now that it is only by having good characters that the show becomes interesting.

to me it's more interesting when it's normal people in an odd environment. if i wanted big characters i'd go and see an end of the pier show. am enjoying it more now it's calmed down. the high-concept nature of the last couple of tasks has helped too.

did suzie get victimised with the hold music because she hadn't visited automated big brother before? or was it only because she was alphabetically last? or because she'd mentioed hating it before? i like the fact that she said she had better things to do than just sit there. yeah, like sitting somewhere else...

Koogy Yonderboy (koogs), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 08:03 (nineteen years ago)

... I imagine the BB team just thought let's do something which might make force this boring cow to do something interesting, it didn't.

Doi Doing! (Dada), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 08:11 (nineteen years ago)

i've not watched this since lea was last in, i can't believe Suzie is still in there.

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 08:15 (nineteen years ago)

did suzie get victimised with the hold music because she hadn't visited automated big brother before? or was it only because she was alphabetically last? or because she'd mentioed hating it before?

A bit of all of those, I think. But especially the first reason. Personally, I was ROFLing throughout that bit of the show.

I want Mikey to go, but I think Susie will probably get more votes by Friday.

I agree with the person who said that BB is better when it's ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances than when it's a load of larger than life "characters". Fewer mentalist housemates and more stressful (but do-able) tasks next year, please.

zebedee (zebedee), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 10:10 (nineteen years ago)

i've not watched this since lea was last in
http://www.channel4.com/bigbrother/media/gallery/day77/d77_g_glyn_dead.jpg

suzy with the wait music was hilarious, Matt OTM. i kept thinking, *anyone else in the house would have played along (except Mikey poss, and aisleyne who would've cried). but no. she can't help but get wound up, becuz of essential lack of sense of humour. killer.

i am not a nugget (stevie), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 10:15 (nineteen years ago)

The best BB task ever was the Big Brother Boot Camp in 2004 because of all the Ahmed and Michelle insanity that followed it. You thought they were genuinely going to crack with each other but you could see exactly where each of them was coming from.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 10:27 (nineteen years ago)

I liked Ashleyne's idea that the house was starting to malfunction because they had been going longer than they'd gone before. As if there were people behind the scenes wrestling shaking controls shouting 'We've pushed it to the limits but the house cannae take any more, captain'!

theantmustdance (theantmustdance), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 20:37 (nineteen years ago)

That made me laugh too. Keeping plumbing running for longer than ten weeks? Why, that's never been done before in the history of mankind!

Meanwhile: Arguments! In strong regional accents!

chap who would dare to start Raaatpackin (chap), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 20:48 (nineteen years ago)

"the whole house is in disarray what does 'disarray' mean?"

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 21:05 (nineteen years ago)

"you're a dickhead"
"no you're a dickhead", followed by Glyn laughing at Mikey's ultra-lame arguing skills, was excellent.

I like BB again. I've been advocating a return to series one type normalcy for a while, and we're pretty much there. Mikey to go, please. I can't even get worked up about him. He's just so meh.

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 21:09 (nineteen years ago)

if this is normality...

mikey to go, yeah, rather than susie, actually

glyn was funny, in the bathroom, when big brother announced his return

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 21:11 (nineteen years ago)

Mikey is being a tit. Ultra-defensive and judgmental.

chap who would dare to start Raaatpackin (chap), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 21:23 (nineteen years ago)

Was Mikey really being any more of a tit than Jennie there? Is it automatically assumed he was more aggressive because he's bigger?

Seemed pretty much tit for tat for me, from people who've been living in each others' pockets far too long. I struggled to care enough to take either side, really.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 21:27 (nineteen years ago)

Today made me sort of agree with NRQ's whole anti-Pete diatribe. He knew full well he'd caused that big argument but didn't actually own up to it.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 21:29 (nineteen years ago)

He did, didn't he?

Jennie obv. was a bit mental, but I've been like that with people like Miley before. When I'm wound up with someone whose #1 tactic is to say things calculated to wind you up and then do the whole "keep calm, what's your problem?" routine, it's easy to just lose it and "look like a dickhead".

He sat there with his shrugged shoulders and said "The only person who drank from that bottle was you", when he knew she was feeling defensive about it looking like she'd been the one drinking it. He later claimed he'd said "The only person I saw/i> drinking it was you", which is different, and anyway it's all about the tone.

As Richard said (takes one to know one) he just shuts down discussions. Wanker.

Imogen really wound him up by (unintentionally, I think) giving him a taste of his own medicine with her repeated "Why can't I say that?" thing about Glyn being entitled to his own opinion. He wasn't smart enough to argue his way out of that simple rhetorical point so started to lash out at her.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 21:39 (nineteen years ago)

oops.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 21:39 (nineteen years ago)

it's difficult enough, to argue, when you're clever

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 21:41 (nineteen years ago)

i've hardly seen any of BB this week. on this evidence i'm quite glad.

i've always thought mikey was a tossbag. if he gets voted out because of all this, all i can say is "hurrah".

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 21:44 (nineteen years ago)

I thought Mikey was a tossbag and then I had a brief week or so of thinking he wasn't so bad after all and now I feel ashamed for my waivering.

Tonight's show was not very entertaining at all. Or yesterday's. I can't remember Monday's now.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 21:46 (nineteen years ago)

He knew full well he'd caused that big argument but didn't actually own up to it.

That was pretty bad, but I can empathise, I'm a bit of a coward that way.

chap who would dare to start Raaatpackin (chap), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 21:51 (nineteen years ago)

The highlights show was pretty bad, but Russell's treatment of Spiral on BBBM had me in stitches. (Yes, it was the usual predictable RB schtick)

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Thursday, 3 August 2006 05:35 (nineteen years ago)

tuesday's show was pretty much entirely the nominations (good, in parts). yesterday's was pretty much entirely those two arguments (back to the doldrums). Morley on BBLB improved things a lot though.

Koogy Yonderboy (koogs), Thursday, 3 August 2006 07:46 (nineteen years ago)

They could've done a lot more with the malfunctioning house, really. Water spraying all over the place, or suddenly being plunged into darkness, that sort of thing.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 3 August 2006 07:53 (nineteen years ago)

glynn is so gormlessly entertaining in little flashes. with his "six" "nine" "SIXTYNINE hur hur" and his " "no you're a dickhead" ". if only he'd said "i know you are what am i?"

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 3 August 2006 10:15 (nineteen years ago)

Morley on BBLB was classic. He managed to completely articulate my issues with the Aisleyne haters. It almost as if he'd been reading my mind. Spooky.

xpost on Glyn in the bath. I was almost hoping he's pass out and that the last we'd see of him would be a steadily decreasing stream of bubbles...

Stone Monkey (Stone Monkey), Thursday, 3 August 2006 10:19 (nineteen years ago)

wot is with the aisleyne haters? i mean she's a bit annoying and her laugh grates, but... eh? (sorry, i am not really immersing myself in BB this year, and i'm not picking up the general vibe)

Britain's Obtusest Shepherd (Alan), Thursday, 3 August 2006 12:42 (nineteen years ago)

it was annoying when she was trying to get in on the confusion of the nominations announcement malfunction since she was one of the few pretty much ruled out because they heard imogen's name first but she kept talking and talking and saying "yeah but it's broken so I think it's me"

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 3 August 2006 12:46 (nineteen years ago)

which was part of her whole "yeah i get what's going on" thing. which was the most i've been annoyed with her = not a great deal. actually when she had to do the final next-door eviction and all the crying. not that i hold that against her. i just didn't want to be watching it

Britain's Obtusest Shepherd (Alan), Thursday, 3 August 2006 12:48 (nineteen years ago)

i also don't understand the aisleyne hate. she's ok.

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Thursday, 3 August 2006 12:51 (nineteen years ago)

she emerges as annoying the less people there are in the house, and also quite thick! it's funny, she seemed intelligent in the face of spiral coming on to her constantly, now she seems to be kind of disintegrating under the pressure of having to actually be interesting in her own right.

I hated her first, possibly cos she talked alot at the start, then thought she was ok, cos she seemed to just hang out and be nice to people, now am back to finding her a little annoying.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 3 August 2006 13:38 (nineteen years ago)

she annoys me but I don't hate her

she talks all the time but just to be talking and, yeah, is actually quite thick

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 3 August 2006 13:43 (nineteen years ago)

I don't like that snappy shaky finger 'cool' thing she does. Reminds me of 1987.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Thursday, 3 August 2006 13:45 (nineteen years ago)

I agree with all that, but I think under all the bolshiness she is actually quite kind and open-minded.

chap who would dare to start Raaatpackin (chap), Thursday, 3 August 2006 14:36 (nineteen years ago)

I agree, I don't hate her really.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 3 August 2006 14:40 (nineteen years ago)

I might watch actual Good Things tonight instead (Armando & Brooker), but it's ok, I've got the day off tomorrow so I can watch the repeat!

I bet you all find details of my viewing habits very interesting.

chap who would dare to start Raaatpackin (chap), Thursday, 3 August 2006 19:22 (nineteen years ago)

Hang on, is it a double eviction this week?

Cressida Breem (neruokruokruokne?), Thursday, 3 August 2006 21:39 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, that's what I want to know. I watched Time Trumpet and Screen Wipe like a normal human being, but I heard it mentioned in passing on BBBBBBBBBBBM with Russ.
Sooz and Mikey to go pls ta.

David Orton (scarlet), Thursday, 3 August 2006 21:43 (nineteen years ago)

That's where I heard it too, a few times. No mention of it on BB.

Cressida Breem (neruokruokruokne?), Thursday, 3 August 2006 21:54 (nineteen years ago)

I'm pretty sure it's a normal eviction this week. In which case, surely Mikey must go. Or Susie. Either way is fine by me.

x-post. Aisleyne needs to stay in because (for some vaguely unfathomable reason)she is actually quite fanciable, in a way that Imogen isn't despite being extremely pretty. Ditto Jennie; she's OK, but Aisleyne has something that the others don't.

There I've said it and in public and everything!

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Friday, 4 August 2006 06:44 (nineteen years ago)

Basically, I hate Aisleyne because of her arse

Doi Doing! (Dada), Friday, 4 August 2006 07:39 (nineteen years ago)

BBLB this morning said "Double Eviction". but i'm not sure how they can justify this.

Koogy Yonderboy (koogs), Friday, 4 August 2006 07:41 (nineteen years ago)

Double Eviction and an old housemate (i.e. Nikki) to come back in - say it ain't so Joe

Doi Doing! (Dada), Friday, 4 August 2006 07:46 (nineteen years ago)

whaaaat? seriously?

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Friday, 4 August 2006 07:46 (nineteen years ago)

It said so on Teletext so it must be true?!?!?!

Doi Doing! (Dada), Friday, 4 August 2006 07:47 (nineteen years ago)

how does teletext still exist?

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Friday, 4 August 2006 07:52 (nineteen years ago)

It's more exciting than Big Brother!

Doi Doing! (Dada), Friday, 4 August 2006 07:53 (nineteen years ago)

no arguments here

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Friday, 4 August 2006 07:54 (nineteen years ago)

From DS:

Nine of the evicted housemates will become eligible to re-enter the house tonight, according to a report in The Sun today.

Viewers will be able to vote on which of the evicted housemates should be installed in the secret house, the newspaper claims. Over the following days the public will then vote to determine who transfers back into the main house.

Voluntary departees Shahbaz and George will not be amongst the group, nor will Dawn, who was ejected for rule-breaking in week two. Sezer has also not been invited back.

Evicted housemates who return to the house will not be eligible to win the series.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Friday, 4 August 2006 08:02 (nineteen years ago)

oh, for fuck's sake.

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Friday, 4 August 2006 08:03 (nineteen years ago)

I hope it's Sezer

Doi Doing! (Dada), Friday, 4 August 2006 08:03 (nineteen years ago)

haha, sezer has also not been invited back

RJG (RJG), Friday, 4 August 2006 08:03 (nineteen years ago)

how is shahbaz a voluntary departee? i thought they threw him out for being a nutter?

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Friday, 4 August 2006 08:05 (nineteen years ago)

Aisleyne needs to stay in because (for some vaguely unfathomable reason)she is actually quite fanciable, in a way that Imogen isn't despite being extremely pretty.

Bashment Jakes (Enrique), Friday, 4 August 2006 08:05 (nineteen years ago)

>> Basically, I hate Aisleyne because of her arse

If she stopped showing her non-existant arse all the time and moaned a bit less I'd like her, she's mostly alright apart from that.

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Friday, 4 August 2006 08:06 (nineteen years ago)

Aisleyne to win.

I think they should bring back Bonnah, if they're bringing back anyone.

hobart paving (hobart paving), Friday, 4 August 2006 09:04 (nineteen years ago)

but everyone knows it's going to be Nikki. that's why they're doing it.

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Friday, 4 August 2006 09:08 (nineteen years ago)

Nikki is too big for big brother now. i'd like to see gracie back in. shabazz would have been best though.

this reeks of desperation.

jed_ (jed), Friday, 4 August 2006 09:09 (nineteen years ago)

the missus says nikki and GRACIEEEE shd go in together.

Bashment Jakes (Enrique), Friday, 4 August 2006 09:16 (nineteen years ago)

Are they really doing this? Nikki was an amusing housemate, but she took up so much of the show, and probably of the house, that the rest weren't really allowed to grow.

Bring Back Bonnah. Start it here. Poor girl probably needs the break.

hobart paving (hobart paving), Friday, 4 August 2006 09:19 (nineteen years ago)

jed_ (jed), Friday, 4 August 2006 09:58 (nineteen years ago)

I hope Suzy stays in, and they continue winding her up. The automated nominations were hilarious. That veneer is cracking...

(although I'm slightly worried what happens when that veneer cracks. Could it be that the veneer IS Suzy and when it cracks, she cracks?)

and how much can someone over-use the word "crack" in one post?

hobart paving (hobart paving), Friday, 4 August 2006 10:10 (nineteen years ago)

i'm torn on this. i think either jennie or imogen to go.

i'm SO BORED though.

Bashment Jakes (Enrique), Friday, 4 August 2006 10:12 (nineteen years ago)

Clearly the housemate that needs to be voted in is JONATHAN.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 4 August 2006 10:15 (nineteen years ago)

Or maybe Kinga or Makosi or someone just to weird them out.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 4 August 2006 10:16 (nineteen years ago)

jon tickle.

come on guys.

Bashment Jakes (Enrique), Friday, 4 August 2006 10:17 (nineteen years ago)

MAKOSI!! (is this possible?)

errr.. Bring Back Bonnah got dumped pretty quick. Never mind.

hobart paving (hobart paving), Friday, 4 August 2006 10:24 (nineteen years ago)

yeah disallowing sezer is just bad tv. innocent till proven and all that.

i was going to agree, but i guess that if there's still some kind of police investigation going on then there's a pretty sound case for not putting him back in. i'm not sure what happened with that last allegation, mind.

it HAS to be bonner. please. or grace. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, NOT NIKKI.

mind, i've not watched it all week and now i don't have a telly (goddamn decorators) so i can't really say it matters to me either way.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Friday, 4 August 2006 10:39 (nineteen years ago)

i heard that c4 are considering doing a bb greatest contestants-typw show.

The decorators stole your telly? Bastards!

xp

Onimo (GerryNemo), Friday, 4 August 2006 10:42 (nineteen years ago)

Makosi would just completely run rings around all of them whilst proceeding to totally fuck their heads up. This would be a brilliant idea...Hence there's no chance of it happening.

ps Mikey and Imogen to go. Jennie must stay.

Science? He was crap.

My Mind's Not Made of Gravel (Dada), Friday, 4 August 2006 10:45 (nineteen years ago)

Science's "Am I homophobic" bit whilst repeatedly touching Derek on the shoulder is one of BB's funniest moments ever.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 4 August 2006 10:47 (nineteen years ago)

I'm not really a Big Brother fan but I can't think of a single entertaining and/or interesting personality to have emerged from any of the series.

Science was basically Spiral without the creepiness.

omg lol nikki returnz!!!!!!1!!!!!yay!!!!

David Orton (scarlet), Friday, 4 August 2006 10:56 (nineteen years ago)

Nikki, Grace, Jayne and Spiral are my guesses.

What were Bonneh's "legal reasons"?

Cressida Breem (neruokruokruokne?), Friday, 4 August 2006 20:33 (nineteen years ago)

is it just me or does nikki's face have a sort of deranged demonic feel about it, those dead eyes sucking in the cheers, and her awful dimples, she is terrifying.

I expect everyone else knows all this already, but....

1.A) When Davina was interviewing Suzy, they mentioned that Suzy's husband's name is Kosmo. I'm sure I heard somewhere before that her was something in the music biz - is he Kosmo Vinyl the former Clash manager?

1.b) If so, how come Suzy had supposeldy never seen anyone getting shit-faced before Glyn?

2) Also, obvious what the "legal reasons" were Sezer couldn't go back in, but wtf has Bonnie been up to?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Friday, 4 August 2006 21:18 (nineteen years ago)

The best I can find is some pizza thing, but they let her into the house in the first place knowing about it, and no charges were rought.

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/tm_objectid%3D17140342&method%3Dfull&siteid%3D66633&headline%3Dbonnie-on-bail-over-pizza-theft-claims--name_page.html

Cressida Breem (neruokruokruokne?), Friday, 4 August 2006 21:22 (nineteen years ago)

Her hubby isn't Kosmo Vinyl, apparently it's Cosmo Verrico who was in the Heavy Metal Kids.... although this does make her claim never to have seen an adult get wankered even less explicable.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Friday, 4 August 2006 21:32 (nineteen years ago)

Oh good bl00dy heavens. I got a text about these FOUR new housemates going in whilst on the East London Line home and emitted a rather loud SWEAR. Worst Big Brother ever. It's been so much better since Nikki has gone, we've finally been able to see SOMETHING of the other housemates and the ridiculous he said/she said nonsense got given a rest... ARGH NO - this might be the final end. Unless they get Sezer, Bonner, Sezer's dad and Jimmy Saville back for (Alleged)CSI:Endemol. Although, nothing's been proved about Jimmy. Not a bean.

Bhumibol Adulyadej (Lucretia My Reflection), Friday, 4 August 2006 21:35 (nineteen years ago)

can anyone shed any light on Bonnie's legal reasons for not being elligable to go back in? i'm not buying this pizza thing....

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Friday, 4 August 2006 22:34 (nineteen years ago)

so far i've heard she's being done for GBH, and/or being paid by a b-list tv presenter to be involved in a threesome...

That's what Bonnie said.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 4 August 2006 22:58 (nineteen years ago)

Anyway, how come Davina omitted Jonathan in her revisionist history of departed housemates?

Alba (Alba), Friday, 4 August 2006 22:59 (nineteen years ago)

he wasn't evicted from the house, proper

RJG (RJG), Friday, 4 August 2006 23:04 (nineteen years ago)

racist bitch

jed_ (jed), Friday, 4 August 2006 23:15 (nineteen years ago)

he wasn't evicted from the house, proper

Well, she explained why Shahbaz, Dawn et al. weren't there - why not him?

Alba (Alba), Friday, 4 August 2006 23:17 (nineteen years ago)

Ha ha - people on the digitalspy forums want Endemol to be sued for breach of contract on all the eviction votes for the housemate who gets back into the running for the prize.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 4 August 2006 23:20 (nineteen years ago)

Susie was AWFUL in her post-evic interview. What a strange joyless woman.

chap who would dare to start Raaatpackin (chap), Friday, 4 August 2006 23:58 (nineteen years ago)

obvious that ch4 have come up with this 4 housemates returning in w/ 1 to go into the main house in order to get nikki back in while pretending the whole thing isn't about getting nikki back in. (what are the rest going to do in the house next door & why?)

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 5 August 2006 00:06 (nineteen years ago)

seriously tho' - while alba may haha there is something seriously dishonest in the way ch4 are trying to gerrymander this whole thing.

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 5 August 2006 00:13 (nineteen years ago)

i'm serious!

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 5 August 2006 00:18 (nineteen years ago)

Evidently.

I can't get that worked up about C4 rigging a gameshow, though - I mean, the housemates who are going to make a career out of it (however few that may be) have already got the exposure, it doesn't matter what position they come.

chap who would dare to start Raaatpackin (chap), Saturday, 5 August 2006 00:23 (nineteen years ago)

if Nikki goes back in now, she will probably just be an embarrassing parody of herself, because she knows what she's popular for, and she will keep doing it even though it is kind of tired.

I read a rumour that Kinga and Kemal might go in together! (even though they are no longer together together). I would've liked that. Kemal has straightened hair now though and isn't cute anymore.

Cathy (Cathy), Saturday, 5 August 2006 00:25 (nineteen years ago)

How are they going to fix it so that Nikki goes back into the main house though? Apparently the housemates choose who comes over from the house next door - they're surely likely to pick someone a lot less likely to win? I'd have thought anyone with an eye on the prize would have sussed Nikki as a centre-of-attention lapped-up-by-the-tabloids Jade/Chantelle type, and would see her as A Threat.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 5 August 2006 07:11 (nineteen years ago)

Though I guess they could just not tell the housemates that the ex-housemate is eligible to win...

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 5 August 2006 07:21 (nineteen years ago)

but nikki was least popular of (at the time) all 11 housemates. so they're likely to think she has zero chance of winning, amirite?

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Saturday, 5 August 2006 07:21 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, probably. And I'm probably reading too much into the housemates' ability to be logical about this. I can't even remember how she got on with the ones that are left - I know she irritated Glyn and Pete fancied her. Do the rest even like her?

The whole thing just has "get Nikki back in" written all over it, and I'm just wondering how they fix it.

Wonder if they all remember the "Get Grace Out" booing?

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 5 August 2006 07:34 (nineteen years ago)

Did people get this het up when Tickle went back in? Or was that OK because he couldn't win? The housemates didn't know that though, did they?

Also, how teh fuck are they going to get Nikki to shut up in the house next door for three whole days?

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 5 August 2006 07:38 (nineteen years ago)

i didn't watch the Tickle series, so i can't comment. i didn't even realise they'd done this before.
as for keeping nikki quiet, well... it might last half a day. maybe they added extra soundproofing since the prison task?

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Saturday, 5 August 2006 07:51 (nineteen years ago)

It was tragic to watch both of them move from "no, I wouldn't want to go back into the house" to "yeah, OK then" within the space of a few seconds when they realised it wasn't just a hypothetical question. Bye bye pride, come and suck on the BB fame cock.

Alba (Alba), Saturday, 5 August 2006 08:56 (nineteen years ago)

Susie handled Davina quite well I thought, not that S came across as likeable or anything, but she was pretty calm in the face of Davina attempting to embarass her.

Also thought Davina's lecturing of Mikey re "gash", while perhaps she was right, the way she forced him to go "I will never say this again Davina" was a bit of a nasty power trip.

I really wish they'd get rid of her.

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 5 August 2006 09:00 (nineteen years ago)

of course she handled Davina well. her entire schtick of poise + disingenuousness is totally rehearsed. handling people well but with an air of superiority is clearly her "thing".

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 5 August 2006 09:13 (nineteen years ago)

I hated Davina's whole "you aren't really interesting/mad/wacky/annoying enough - what are you doing here?" thing - giving total validation to Endemol's selection of exhibitionist wingnuts. Yawn. I thought Susie carried herself very well in her interview.

(xpost - OTM)

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 5 August 2006 09:19 (nineteen years ago)

fwiw i got to quite like suzie. tea really WAS the only thing she was interested in!

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 5 August 2006 09:24 (nineteen years ago)

what was the gash Mikey thing about?

Cathy (Cathy), Saturday, 5 August 2006 09:29 (nineteen years ago)

they showed a clip of him saying "when i get out of here i'm gonna worship the gash".

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 5 August 2006 09:31 (nineteen years ago)

oh I see.

I haven't heard 'gash' since I was at school. What as Mikey's reception like in general?

I haven't liked Davina for ages now. She always wimps out of really condemning the nasty characters, and forcing them to defend themselves for when they've acted appallingly. They should replace her with Paxman.

Cathy (Cathy), Saturday, 5 August 2006 09:56 (nineteen years ago)

i havent heard "gash" since i last spoke to my friend sarah.

paxman would be prefect.

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 5 August 2006 10:05 (nineteen years ago)

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Saturday, 5 August 2006 10:07 (nineteen years ago)

They should just promote Russell Brand.

no russell brand would not work

everything about susie disgusts me

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 5 August 2006 10:36 (nineteen years ago)

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Saturday, 5 August 2006 10:38 (nineteen years ago)

Shamingly, I have started to find Russell B quite funny and even attractive.

Cathy (Cathy), Saturday, 5 August 2006 10:57 (nineteen years ago)

has that admission killed this thread and all of ILE?

Cathy (Cathy), Saturday, 5 August 2006 11:21 (nineteen years ago)

do keep up cathy, i think just about everyone has come round to russell this year ;)

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 5 August 2006 12:35 (nineteen years ago)

Cathy (Cathy), Saturday, 5 August 2006 12:54 (nineteen years ago)

charming!

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 5 August 2006 13:02 (nineteen years ago)

everything about susie disgusts me

You find tea drinking and not-doing-wacky-things disgusting?

Onimo (GerryNemo), Saturday, 5 August 2006 13:08 (nineteen years ago)

okay not everything

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 5 August 2006 16:34 (nineteen years ago)

But Russell Brand has some sympathy for people being treated badly and also isn't afraid to get stuck into people who deserve it. His schtick is still immensely irritating, but he sort of "gets" Big Brother in the way that I think it should be got. None of Davina's sub-Heat bollocks with him.

(I've done the about-turn on him too, basically. Except this whole my ballbags, you SWINES thing is still fucking annoying)

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 5 August 2006 17:27 (nineteen years ago)

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 5 August 2006 18:12 (nineteen years ago)

No, she's just not 24/7 wacky nonsense. She's not compelling television, but there's nothing actually *wrong* with her.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 5 August 2006 18:14 (nineteen years ago)

I think there is

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 5 August 2006 18:15 (nineteen years ago)

She allegedly paid thousands of pounds to be on the telly so people could watch her drink tea and be snide. That seems like something "wrong".

Son of Spam (noodle vague), Saturday, 5 August 2006 18:17 (nineteen years ago)

Deluded, perhaps, in that she thought she may be interesting and compelling telly. But, yeah, it's an expensive and silly way to gain whatever adventure and/or validation she was seeking.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 5 August 2006 18:23 (nineteen years ago)

It might be if you look at it in cold financial terms that any money she's laid out she'll recoup handsomely, but I don't think it's just about the money.

Son of Spam (noodle vague), Saturday, 5 August 2006 18:28 (nineteen years ago)

Susie is horrible. Vile. Disgusting. Pathetic.

The Ultimate Conclusion (lokar), Saturday, 5 August 2006 18:32 (nineteen years ago)

I'm glad you're all giving reasons for this. Oh wait...

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 5 August 2006 18:39 (nineteen years ago)

Okay. My reasoning for hating Susie is: She's terrible? She's a rich snob who looks down on everyone else for 'unclassy' behaviour, yet she herself got this massive boob job which is the definition of 'unclassy'. She has used the wealth she fucked herself into to close herself off from the outside world. She has no interest in actually bettering herself in any way shape or form, she prefers to advance whatever status she thinks she has.

All of that is terrible but perfectly acceptable (sort of). The problem is she is incredibly un-aware of what she is actually like. Worse, she actually thinks she is better than everyone else because of it. She should be fucked up the ass with a croquet mallet. That'll learn her!

The Ultimate Conclusion (lokar), Saturday, 5 August 2006 20:28 (nineteen years ago)

Pete+Jennie = cutest thing EVA, i should say then. Come on, the animal thing was just daaaaaahling.

The Ultimate Conclusion (lokar), Saturday, 5 August 2006 20:47 (nineteen years ago)

I don't hate susie because she's female, like Son of Spam and The Ultimate Conclusion do

(even though she does almost present herself as a trophy wife and blah blah blah she has kind of actively physically sexualised herself despite her v non-sexual/prudish persona (being v kind), I think it's cool to not give in to easiness of OTT misogynistical phrasing, every day)

the non-sex aspects of The Ultimate Conclusion's ultimate conclusions are rather OTM, though

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 5 August 2006 21:41 (nineteen years ago)

I myself reckon that this year's BB will actually go on forever.

(And then, only then, would it become at all daring/groundbreaking/interesting...)

Louis Jagger (Haberdager), Saturday, 5 August 2006 23:28 (nineteen years ago)

Perhaps my disdain for Susie's augmentation is misogynistic. But what tickles me is the same dissonance that T'Ult points at: the tits are pure pornographication in a way that undermines her air of "I Am Classy". Being Classy doesn't bother me much, and body modification bothers me less. The gap between those 2 aspirations strikes me as funny/pathetic.

Son of Spam (noodle vague), Saturday, 5 August 2006 23:28 (nineteen years ago)

she is more cultured than I had assumed, though

tonight, from yesterday, she described some milk that someone had left out as "fausty"

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 5 August 2006 23:36 (nineteen years ago)

Fusty?

Son of Spam (noodle vague), Saturday, 5 August 2006 23:39 (nineteen years ago)

I have to admit, I was finding it difficult to reconcile Susie's incredibly prudish, wet-blanket persona with someone who would go and get hugely unsubtle breast implants. That said, I find it difficult to reconcile her personality with someone who would go and spend thousands of pounds on KitKats as well.

I've just read about the four housemates going back in. Talk about shark-jumping. Assuming Nikki goes back in, does she stand a chance of winning? Is poor Glynn going to be robbed of second place?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 5 August 2006 23:40 (nineteen years ago)

I like Genesis Porridge's implants.

Son of Spam (noodle vague), Saturday, 5 August 2006 23:44 (nineteen years ago)

it was definitely "fausty"

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 5 August 2006 23:46 (nineteen years ago)

I've never heard fausty used before but it sounds good.

Son of Spam (noodle vague), Saturday, 5 August 2006 23:47 (nineteen years ago)

It made a Dorian Gray-esque pact with Satan never to go off, and Susie was expressing her surprise that milk left out for so long could be so fresh.

Louis Jagger (Haberdager), Saturday, 5 August 2006 23:51 (nineteen years ago)

the way she said it, though, made it sound negative (dunno what she meant either since I've never heard of faust)

mark grout (mark grout), Sunday, 6 August 2006 07:18 (nineteen years ago)

But, as I pointed out already, Tickle went back in for entertainment. He didn't go back to win. There's a massive difference, in that people had voted before and he'd been evicted fair and square and therefore wasn't eligible to win, since he'd already lost.

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Sunday, 6 August 2006 15:17 (nineteen years ago)

Animal thing:

Well, they were all quite drunk and it was the end of the evening and Jennie was being all affectionate with Pete and said that when they got out she'd tell him a secret. It became clear that this "secret" was how much she liked Pete, though he seemed uneasy about making it clear that he understood. Anyway, she kept going on about "the secret", trying to tease out his feelings.

Then they went to bed and it cut to Jennie calling over to Pete, asking him: "Do you think if animals could talk, they'd tell us they loved us ... well, not loved us, but liked us" and Glyn walked in and said "Oi, what you talking about?" and she told him and he said something funny in response that I didn't catch.

But then she went on about the animals again, and I suddenly clicked she was using "the animals" as code for Pete. He was playing along, a bit uncomfortable still, but chipping in with little replies. And she was saying, all tired and bitter-sweet sounding, things like "I should stop putting them on the spot, leave them alone and just be their friend, and pet them" and Pete said he was sure they'd love to be petted and Jennie said yes and they went to sleep.

Alba (Alba), Sunday, 6 August 2006 15:31 (nineteen years ago)

had a bit of a think about the keys task. 400 locks and 400 keys. on average you'll have to try each key in half the remaining locks. so total number of attempts is 400/2 + 399/2 + 398/2 + ... which i make about 39900, call it 40000. divide this by 4, as there's four of them doing it (ok, doesn't parallelise exactly but it's close enough). = 10000. they had 3 hours for the task(?) = 10800 seconds. one per second bascially. that's pretty tough going.

I guess because I relate to her in the situations she gets wound up about. And because she seems very sweet natured and sounds cute when she's tired and drunk. And because she looks like me.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 09:50 (nineteen years ago)

more reasons for liking jayne/wanting her back in:

a) she fucked everything up, tasks, etc. it was funny to watch.

b) her big mouth got her into trouble over and over and over. she never learned her lesson. as a viewer, this amused me.

c) despite all this, she got on with most of the housemates. therefore, less likelihood of extreme screaming/slagging matches in the final weeks. i don't enjoy watching blazing rows on tv.

d) she liked to goof off, enjoyed practical jokes, etc. i like to watch that.

e) she's not Nikki.

f) cmon, loud belches are funny.

g) she showed her boobies tbh.

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 09:54 (nineteen years ago)

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 09:55 (nineteen years ago)

I think I forgive Jayne most things if it weren't for all the "I'm going to fuck that slag up" stuff about Aisleyne. People who say things like that just make me feel sick.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 09:58 (nineteen years ago)

Also, Jayne reminded me of people in life who are overbearing and loud about their idea of fun, with a frustrating "you're boring if you don't join in with me" undercurrent.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 10:01 (nineteen years ago)

don't get me wrong, i'm deffo not saying she's a perfect housemate or wonderful person. i'd just like to watch her more on my television set.

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 10:02 (nineteen years ago)

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 10:04 (nineteen years ago)

I think the main reason I like Jennie, maybe (goes for Glyn and Pete too, I guess) is that she's wide-eyed, eager to learn about life and uncynical. I'm fed up with cynicism just now.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 10:07 (nineteen years ago)

i like jennie, but not enough to get me watching the show again.

Bashment Jakes (Enrique), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 10:10 (nineteen years ago)

(trvial aspect of cynicism: so many people, inside and out of the house, trying to look smart by exposing people's ulterior motives and clever "game plans" all the fucking time).

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 10:11 (nineteen years ago)

ok good.

i want:

Nikki Lea Grace Lisa.

glyn is great!

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 10:11 (nineteen years ago)

I like Jennie too, Alba otm, it's not just that she's not cynical, some of the other housemates are just so dead and clapped out, laden down with bitterness and insecurity, at least Jennie you can imagine having a dream.

I think I want:

Grace, Lisa, Spiral.....

tho not sure who else, I have to now admit I actively want to watch Spiral freak out aggressively and do awful rapping.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 10:14 (nineteen years ago)

oh god, please no Lisa.
i'm convinced that she's Terry Christian in a dress.

i'd also like to hear more Spiral, but not at the expense of people's safety/sanity.

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 10:15 (nineteen years ago)

Bashment Jakes (Enrique), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 10:18 (nineteen years ago)

But it's a weird one. I find it hard to guess, other than Nikki. Depends how much people really do vote for people they don't like but want to cause fireworks. I don't think there's any point doing that, because of the four it's always going to be Nikki the housemates pick of the four.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 10:20 (nineteen years ago)

Of the four, y'know?

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 10:20 (nineteen years ago)

i hope it'll be Jayne, Spiral, Mikey, Grace

but it'll be Nikki, Lea, Grace, Lisa

yeah, Alba, i've thought from the start that it's all a big Nikki thing.

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 10:21 (nineteen years ago)

maybe it should be lisa, not grace.

Bashment Jakes (Enrique), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 10:26 (nineteen years ago)

Pete's moved out from 1/10 to 1/5 to win with "any other" joint 2nd favourite along with Glyn at 9/2. I expect it to be a lot closer if they choose Nikki.

who are these people phoning god knows who to complain about this voting-back-in thing? my dimwitted colleague thinks there's grounds for a serious legal challenge.

The point they are making is that they paid good money in good faith to evict someone from being in the running for the prize. Big Brother/Endemol has then said "cheers for all your money, but we'll just ignore the result of what you've all forked out your hard-earned cash for and maybe just let them win anyway". I'm not a legal expert so have no idea if they can do this or not (I mean, obviously they can, but whether they're allowed to is another matter entirely), but it seems a dodgy precedent to set for public-voting-based shows if you can overturn a legitimate result on a whim. Why would anyone bother to vote ever again if it ultimately decides nothing?

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 14:40 (nineteen years ago)

The public votes to evict from the Big Brother house. Technically, they were evicted.

The Ultimate Conclusion (lokar), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 16:47 (nineteen years ago)

Yes, technically they were. But would people still vote out the people they didn't want to win if they said "vote for the person you would like to see evicted from the Big Brother house but please bear in mind they might get back in and win the competition"?

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 17:08 (nineteen years ago)

The BB site itself says that once a housemate is evicted, they're out of the competition, it's not just implied.

Cressida Breem (neruokruokruokne?), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 17:15 (nineteen years ago)

(it also says they reserve the right to change the rules at any time, which is why I don't think it's illegal, but it's still a crappy precedent to set)

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 17:55 (nineteen years ago)

20 second "auditions" to get back in on BBLB = very definition of excruciating desperation.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 18:57 (nineteen years ago)

So, Nikki, Lea, Mikey and Grace. The real house knows something via the magic of plasma telly screens, but I don't think they know everything. Like what's happening.

My Mind's Not Made of Gravel (Dada), Wednesday, 9 August 2006 08:00 (nineteen years ago)

it's only a game show, etc etc.
i think we're cloe enough to the end that it's not possible to only vote for people you hate, so no surprises about the tactical voting. in it to win it, and all that.

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Wednesday, 9 August 2006 08:03 (nineteen years ago)

there was a lot of people voting for people they thought were safe last night, the BB equivalent of voting Green.

Koogy Yonderboy (koogs), Wednesday, 9 August 2006 08:08 (nineteen years ago)

Both Glyn and Pete really wanted to vote for Arseleyne but voted "tactically" instead - more's the pity. Tho having said that, having Arseleyne and PsychoNikki in the house at the same time should be interesting.

My Mind's Not Made of Gravel (Dada), Wednesday, 9 August 2006 08:18 (nineteen years ago)

teh_kit haev been evicted, oh noes! (g-kit), Wednesday, 9 August 2006 08:23 (nineteen years ago)

Fascinating nominations last night. Way more interesting than the stupid shenanigans going on outside the House.

Pretty much everybody voted tactically last night, including Pete (who was completely open about the fact). Possibly only JemimaJennie did not.

The really interesting one, however, was Richard. I was sure he was going to nominate Pete and Glyn, but he obviously realised his best chance of staying to the final week was to go up against Imogen or Ailing. Cleverly thought through.

I was struck by Airliner's immediate reaction to seeing the 4 evicted housemates: she wanted Nikki back. Why?

zebedee (zebedee), Wednesday, 9 August 2006 09:07 (nineteen years ago)

Aisleyne doesn't know how much Nikki was backstabbing against her, obv. She is under the impression they sorted out their differences before Nikki got evicted.

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Wednesday, 9 August 2006 09:38 (nineteen years ago)

My Mind's Not Made of Gravel (Dada), Wednesday, 9 August 2006 17:09 (nineteen years ago)

Glyn climbed over the wall and tried to get into the house next door!

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 9 August 2006 17:35 (nineteen years ago)

According to BBLB, Dickie and Imogen are just temporarily in the house next door, the non-evictee on Friday goes back into the main house after the eviction show.

Whether they take an ex-evictee back with them has yet to be revealed.

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 9 August 2006 17:40 (nineteen years ago)

Richard seems favourite to stay, and he'd take Lea. Which would mean no Nikki to get the vote-to-win money in. What with BB trying to control what happens so much recently they're probably going to wait and see if Imogen becomes favourite to stay before deciding if the non-evictee makes the decision.

Cressida Breem (neruokruokruokne?), Wednesday, 9 August 2006 17:45 (nineteen years ago)

Anything that prevents Nikki from winning is OK by me

My Mind's Not Made of Gravel (Dada), Wednesday, 9 August 2006 17:50 (nineteen years ago)

The anti-Aisleyne bias on BBLB is very blatant, sometimes.

People on Digital Spy are already bleating of the unfairness of not knowing whether something like Cressida's theory may happen, i.e. people would maybe vote tactically for what would effectively be "vote Nikki v Lea back in", rather than a straight "evict Imogen or Richard" - someone who wants Richard out ordinarily may have taken the decision to vote Imogen out if they wanted Lea rather than Nikki to be back in for the final week.

My head hurts. I can't believe (1) I'm still caring about this and (2) I read Digital Spy.

Glyn's ongoing (and increasingly frustrated) interjections just now of "...and Grace and Mikey" while EVERYONE ELSE was going "Ooooh! Nikki! Ooooh! Leah! Ooooh! Nikki and Leah!" is one of my favourite moments from the series.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 9 August 2006 20:27 (nineteen years ago)

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 9 August 2006 20:47 (nineteen years ago)

I think after Imogen's rant in the bathroom there's no way she'll bring back Mikey. After Aisleyne's statements in the bed she might want to bring her back in to ruin Aisleyne's chances, although could a stand-up bitchfight win it for her?

Onimo (GerryNemo), Wednesday, 9 August 2006 22:14 (nineteen years ago)

Do the main housemates know that (1) someone gets back in and this isn't just another viewer-friendly "make use of the house next door" (which the Richard and Imogen move away thing could be construed as if they have the brains to think that) and (2) that if someone does move back in, they could win the money?

Good things tonight:

* Pete talking about and then playing You Are My World, a song I love and have recently rediscovered.

* Imogen being a bit lairy and saying: "it only costs two pound fifty in Co-op."

* Imogen telling Glyn off in Welsh.

* Lack of explanation for Pete's head being in a basket on the floor when he was called to attention re: Glyn on the roof.

* Nikki on the phone saying "I DIDN'T broke it"

Day of reckoning in the Big Brother house as Channel 4 faces inquiry by phone line regulator

Paul Lewis

"Channel 4's reality TV show Big Brother may have to refund viewers the estimated £3m it has earned from phone and text message votes, after an industry watchdog said yesterday it was considering launching an investigation into the decision to allow evicted contestants back into the competition..."

Nikki's claim not to understand what they were doing in there was a bit hard to take.

glyn's his mate, aisleyne *does* go on about it,

Pete wasn't just avoiding conflict, he also does harbour resentment against Grace himself - he'd talked about the water throwing being an "act of violence" earlier on, so he wasn't going to criticise Aisleyne and Richard over it.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 10 August 2006 12:57 (nineteen years ago)

nikki's newfound self-awareness is laughably embarrassing to watch.

chap who would dare to start Raaatpackin (chap), Thursday, 10 August 2006 13:17 (nineteen years ago)

I think trying to be liked by everyone is admirable and certainly not cowardly.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 10 August 2006 16:37 (nineteen years ago)

But everyone DOES like Pete! In the house, at least.

The conversations next door are dreadful. It feels somehow WRONG to have BB contestants sitting there talking about their photo shoots in The Sun, makes you realise how unpleasant they actually are when taken out of the bubble.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 10 August 2006 20:15 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, I know.

Still, all the house-next-door nonsense was almost worthwhile just for Nikki making Richard squirm with the plastic thing as she chomped on her dinner.

I missed the end but "I BELONNNNG IN THERE" on the pre-break teaser looked like Nikki hype feedback loop at its worst.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 10 August 2006 21:34 (nineteen years ago)

Oh, and Lea really is the most easily-led person I've ever seen.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 10 August 2006 21:38 (nineteen years ago)

No, all that house-next-door stuff was worth it for when Imogen was all like "oh, I wonder what they're all out there saying about my hair" or whatever and Mikey just went "oh, if only you knew" with a glint in his eye.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 10 August 2006 21:40 (nineteen years ago)

Grace and Nikki in particular have WAY too much self-awareness now, like they're playing up to what the audience expects of them. Mikey has neither the profile nor the time outside the house to do the same, while Lea is just too stupid.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 10 August 2006 21:42 (nineteen years ago)

I am now wondering if the housemate to move back into the main house will be put in the hands of GLYN on Friday. Which means he would choose Grace, which would be very funny.

Not as funny as if Glyn was given the choice which of Richard and Imogen to evict, with Endemol brazenly ignoring thousands of votes. I think that might kill BB once and for all though.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 10 August 2006 21:57 (nineteen years ago)

it does feel like something on the brink of implosion.

alba re. pete's admirable need to be loved by everyone: the only way he can do it is to totally repress himself! it's especially narcissistic where women are involved.

I am now wondering if the housemate to move back into the main house will be put in the hands of GLYN on Friday. Which means he would choose Grace, which would be very funny.

i proposed the exact same theory to my GF as soon as "tell off BB" said "..will be issued to you on friday". it would be a great move for the show, imo, far more so than putting Nikki Parody back in there.

Bashment Jakes (Enrique), Friday, 11 August 2006 09:49 (nineteen years ago)

yeah, there's something biblical/mortal kombat about the idea of grace going back in to do battle with aislene and lay waste to jenny the pesky newcomer. if it ain't nikki, my vote goes for grace.

i liked pete a lot and still do, but he's behaved appallingly with almost the girls in there. leading them on, believing in his magical pete world that *this* girl is the ONE, this girl is so unbelievably great, etc then as soon as they show a bit of interest he backs off and acts like they're crazy for acting like this. im sure he doesnt realise how cuntish this is, but regardless...
