Spain, Italy, Scandinavia, Argentina and Russia have always bubbled under for me, so maybe in later years for them all, though I'm hoping to also see Russia next year as well, at least a bit of it.

but japan is the place but that won't happen for many many years as I would need money. Iceland and scandinavia not as much money so that would go first. but again, I don't when it will happen or anything.

Oh, its possible... Just that if you want to go as an individual tourist and not as a part of an expensive package tour, you have to jump through a hundred flaming hoops to get a tourist visa. And even then, it's not guaranteed that you'll get one. Unless you have Iranian friends in Iran who are willing to sponsor you.
I want to go to Montreal actually. To stalk the keyboardist from Stars. phwooar.

I've found lately that travel has lost some of its appeal for me. I suppose I could compile a list of if-money-were-no-object places to go, but given that I'm going to be low-income for the next three years due to school, and given that I haven't really liked where I live and my work for the last few years, I'm much more concerned with just finding a way to like my work and the place where I live and less with travel. I can't justify blowing a couple thousand dollars for a few weeks of exoticism and landscape gawking right now.

To tell the truth, travel to far foreign parts is not only expensive, but strikes me, after a certain amount of so-here-I-am-far-from-home-in-a-strange-land kick-in-the-head experience, as a game of fast diminishing returns.
I happen to live in the west of North America, a place that is mind-fuckingly beautiful. I have finally, after five decades, visited most of my native state of Oregon and my neighboring state of Washington. I could happily spend the remainder of my life filling in the last gaps in that map and revisiting the great and awesome places I've already seen.
I love this place. Since this is my home, this only seems proper and right.
