really quite impressed on first listen. the back half might be my favorite, with the two purely instrumental cuts toward the end being big highlights, "the wave" in particular.
"akanamali" really deserved to conquer the world. as much as i hate to keep singling it out for praise, it deserves all of it and more.

― Nourry, Monday, 23 April 2018 22:17 (five years ago) link
Okay so I still think Akanamali is a unique piece of work that towers over p much everything here. About 50% of the rest of this sounds like passable vocal house and doesn't really interest me. I definitely prefer the stuff that's more obviously African/South African styling but I need to listen a few more times.
― brand new universal harvester (dog latin), Tuesday, 24 April 2018 08:46 (five years ago) link
It may be classic vocal house, but I like its light-luminous-breezy character so imo it compares favorably to classic house (a genre I've only brushed admittedly). Akanamali will likely remain the crowd favorite, but the rest is really consistent and agreeable, with some glorious layers and a great sense of melody. I haven't bought a CD in ages, but I'd buy this to play it in the car yeah. Impressive debut.
― Nabozo, Tuesday, 24 April 2018 10:45 (five years ago) link
I'll say it's a bit unfortunate to open with With You given some of the tracks that follow, it'd have made more sense to have Simmy instead of the American accent of that Canadian chick. I'm also questioning it because the latter part of the album (from Sonini to Bamthathile) sounds so strong to me, though I can't complain about Akanamali - No Stopping Us - Goodbye.

Nabozo OTM. With You is kind of hedging its bets, but overall it's a pleasant (sometimes erring on the safe/generic side) listen. The last part of the album is much more like it as far as I care so far. This'll make great BBQ music whatever happens
― brand new universal harvester (dog latin), Tuesday, 24 April 2018 14:13 (five years ago) link
With You is one of the weaker tracks but it's still nice for the vocal loop that comes in at the end.

Sengimoja is the one.
― they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Tuesday, 24 April 2018 19:18 (five years ago) link
I was listening to Sonsini and thinking how amazing it would be to be dancing to this song at sunrise and then the soft rock guitar came in and just slayed me. That one might actually be better than Akanamali. The rest of this album = let vibes be unconfined.
― Matt DC, Wednesday, 25 April 2018 08:03 (five years ago) link
Sonini slightly reminds me of Time is Over (for sheer technoish sky-suspended brilliance). Qamata sonini.

As for the S-EM album, “No Stopping Us”, which didn’t do much for me when it dropped in February alongside “Bamthathile”, really shines in the album context. It wears its generic Robin Schulziness extremely well.
― breastcrawl, Thursday, 10 May 2018 10:52 (five years ago) link
Every English-language voice on this is kind of unwelcome even when the music is amazing - that first track is a case in point, when she drifts into the background and the vocal loops come in it's completely sublime but before that nah.
― Matt DC, Thursday, 10 May 2018 11:38 (five years ago) link
Agree on “With You” (but it’s as much the melody and the vocal itself as the English) and maybe “Life We Live”, but I’m fine with the English on “No Stopping Us” and “Goodbye”. NSU feels to me like an open invitation to play Janelle’s “Screwed” next.

I guess I'm disappointed this is not a cover of Mahlalela (by Letta Mbulu). Though I think it's still a traditional South African "chant". I wish there was a list / anthology somewhere of these folk songs. At least ever since I heard the soundtrack of Sarafina (which I can't resist to post two from).

ufo, how do you feel about changing the thread title? You started this thread after all. Are you okay with it?And what should the new title be? Keep it basic and just add “ + Simmy - Tugela Fairy”, or expand it a little?I was thinking of “THE HOUSE OF SUN-EL: Sun-El Musician, Simmy, Mlindo The Vocalist, and other related artists”(most of the Mlindo talk has been on the Rolling thread, but it would be a good fit obviously - and Samthing Soweto has an album coming out soon too, as someone mentioned on the roll out thread)Or we could just go for “Sun-El and Simmy-lar stuff” lolAny thoughts?
― breastcrawl, Thursday, 31 January 2019 08:30 (five years ago) link
changing the title to include Simmy seems like a sensible idea and i'm all for it, but if we want a thread to encompass the broader scene then maybe making a new rolling south african pop thread to encompass this stuff as well as gqom etc. would be a good idea? that's up to you though, since that'd be splitting off from the afropop thread where that discussion's mostly taken place up until now.
― ufo, Thursday, 31 January 2019 09:20 (five years ago) link
I think this is a decent sleeper shout to top the albums poll this year, there are a lot of records that are in with a shout but the love this one generates is huge.

― ufo, Thursday, 31 January 2019 09:45 (five years ago) link
Cool! I actually like that this thread is kind of limited in scope. In a perfect ILM world we would have separate Rolling South African, Rolling Nigerian, Rolling Ghanaian, Rolling East African, etc etc threads, but with the current level of participation/enthusiasm being what it is, one catch-all Rolling Afropop thread is enough imho. We do branch out a bit when necessary with things like the Wizkid and Burna threads anyway (and with this one obviously).

the mobi dixon track is really nice, reminds me a lot of mj though i'm not sure why. i like pretty much everything that comes out of this scene, even though i tend to be hit and miss on afrobeats in general

Useful (and possibly overlooked) post by kruezer2 on the Top 77 Tracks rollout thread:"akanamali" definitely crossed over from tsj. the discussion on his album's thread has been reasonably active all year so i think simmy's music must have come up there quite shortly after being released, no tsj-acclaim needed."amablesser" was nominated btw, so it could still make it! (tho honestly i doubt it would place above "ubala" et al.) i nominated it but didn't end up having room for it on my ballot lol."banomoya" might be my favorite of all the songs i hadn't heard before from this poll so the post upthread stating that it was a big hit in south africa tells me that i should probably just start listening to south african radio already― dyl, Thursday, January 31, 2019 12:30 AM (eight hours ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink“AmaBlesser” was a big pop hit there too (just like “Akanamali” itself, the other Sun-El singles did very well too). Like most people, I have a bunch of playlists where I park stuff as I find it, themed playlists, on the go yadda yadda - all that 'halfway house' shit that has cropped up since streaming. This stuff is having quite the effect on me and I don't know where to put it: I kind of want an exclusive 'light caught in a slow falling drop of moisture as the sun comes out after a rain shower' micro-playlist. 'Ubala' is fucking perfect.

Sjava interview on the Fader starts out with a o_O
You just dropped an album about a month ago, how has it been?I think people like it. But I didn’t like it. It’s the label that decided to drop it. I was not ready. Are you serious?I think it’s the whackest thing I’ve ever done.

was listening to Sjava and I realized I recognized his voice from the Black Panther soundtrack. The song he's on "Reasons," has a couple of American rappers on it, but it seems like Sjava's is the dominant style: https://youtu.be/6fdcVfj9iCk

To be fair to the guy, he wraps the interview up like this:
So, in an ideal world, looking at the album as it is, what would you tweak?Nothing really. It is what it is.

But who am I kidding? I really came to post these mixes Sun-El did for South African radio station 5FM. I just found out he did three 30-minute mixes, one in December and two just recently. And guess what, most of it is new stuff: some instrumental tracks, several tracks with Simmy (!), and some remixes of stuff by others (such as Black Coffee). It’s a lot to take in! (let me just say I can’t wait for him to drop “Indodana” featuring Berita.)I will post the links from his Soundcloud (which include track listings). The mixes (01 and 03 at least) can also be found on YouTube.

wow that's great. I was listening to the Mlindo album walking around yesterday and thinking I should bump this thread to check if I've missed anything new
― rob, Thursday, 30 May 2019 17:22 (four years ago) link
Yep good summer vibes. Listening to the full Tresor album now. So Sun-El isn't involved with this at all? Are Tresor and Sun-El in same collective or something? Not questioning this being shouted out in this thread, just curious if there's a connection other than sonic/regional.
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 30 May 2019 18:57 (four years ago) link
No, in this case it’s just the sonic/regional connection. To me, this song is most at home here, whereas I feel the harder South African club sounds (gqom, most notably) are better suited for the Afropop thread, but it’s all quite arbitrary. Also, there is no official Sun-El collective as such. Simmy has worked exclusively with him so far, but Mlindo for instance, even though he got his break with a Sun-El track, had DJ Maphorisa produce his album.

Yes, it’s wonderful. A mix of amapiano jams with Kabza De Small & Maphorisa, expanding on their massive (in every sense) Scorpion Kings album, on which Samthing had the biggest track, “Amantombazane” (see upthread) - like this one, the current number one song in South Africa:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzNquFNqfrwSamthing Soweto ft. Shasha* Akulaleki...and more (musically) soulful stuff, like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=755S1qfwnD4Samthing Soweto • Umuhle Uyasabeka

Euler, you might also want to try the track “We’Mama” on DJ Maphorisa & Kabza De Small’s Scorpion Kings album, which was the first time I heard Sha Sha. Gorgeous song. I would be over the moon if that album places in the Albums 77 next week (besides Sha Sha’s and Samthing Soweto’s own albums).

Listening to Umuthi, the new Blaq Diamond album rn and it’s a treat. “Love Letter”, the new single is beautiful (and there’s also the very lovely “P.S.”!) Mind, there’s nothing house about this, think Sjava and maybe Mlindo. The video version of “Love Letter” adds 1’30 to the song, but be warned: it’s NSFW, as it contains lots of graphic violence.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNIXUsFM9AQ

The new Kabza x Maphorisa album is now on Spotify (the album is showing up empty for me, but you can find the individual tracks by searching for “Kabza” plus “live”).Listening to “eMcimbini” with Samthing (see my earlier post) and it’s just amazing to me how these guys collectively keep coming up with new ways of beautiful.

eMcimbini is hands down my favourite song of the year thus far. I always sing along with the "piano-pi-a-noooo" part.
So is this the amapiano thread now or is that still the baby are you coming thread? Unsure where to gush about this stuff.
I am also very much into Luuu Nineleven and Daliwonga's Friends With Benefits. That guitar!

110% cosign on “eMcimbini”, my song of the year so far as well. That Luu Nineleven jam is nice - is it a guitar or a keyboard tho?as for where to accommodate piano, it’s up for grabs, I suppose - meaning: I don’t really know. I’m inclined to reserve this thread for the more deep-housey/vocalistic & melodious/radio-friendly (as in SA FM) type tracks and post the more clubby/shouty-MC-assisted/“ratchety” amapiano stuff on the BATC? thread.(similarly, I posted Sha Sha’s boppy “Water” on the Rolling Afropop thread instead of here)

Meanwhile, loving this gorgeous track off the brand new De Mogul SA album Lessons. Not on YouTube yet, so click here for the Spotify link. Track info: De Mogul SA ft. Eminent Fam • Ndiza NamThere is a video for “Ndiphelele” with Natalia Mabaso tho: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qg7DNu9mM9A(but do check the full album version for the fantastic final 40 seconds of the outro!)A lot of the album is very soulful, but closing track “Na Ku Radza” is a prime amapiano banger, so on the “Baby Are You Coming?” thread it goes.
― breastcrawl, Monday, 17 February 2020 20:05 (four years ago) link
Aight, let’s move the amapiano stuff to the rolling afro thread then!
― human and working on getting beer (longneck), Monday, 17 February 2020 20:05 (four years ago) link
And idk, it starts off sounding like a guitar - that twang is difficult to accomplish with a keyboard, no - before loving into what definitely sounds like keys, then back again to the twang. It may be keys all the time, but it’s mesmerizing noen the less.

In short, this thread -imvho- is a thread for Beauties; Bops and Bangers belong elsewhere.
― breastcrawl, Monday, 17 February 2020 20:22 (four years ago) link
just a rule of thumb, nothing set in stone, pinch of salt, et cetera.
― breastcrawl, Monday, 17 February 2020 20:27 (four years ago) link
Only half-joking, I’m afraid. I do find the division between beauties and bangers to be somewhat... academic? I mean, these tracks mix well enough and belong to adjacent subgenres and sometimes even to the same genre. So maybe just maybe we need a SA thread? Or a dedicated Amapiano thread? Idk.
― human and working on getting beer (longneck), Monday, 17 February 2020 20:30 (four years ago) link
Not sure about academic, but I’m aware it’s not at all clear-cut and a bit arbitrary. Still, and very still, I’d argue that this particular thread (which wasn’t even started by me, so who am I to talk) has kept a remarkably unified musical feel over the years. It’s never become a catch-all thread for SA music, people seem to know what fits and what doesn’t and seem to appreciate it all the more for it - and that’s the beauty of it (pun pretty much intended). I’m thinking it should stay that way?And yeah, it’s kinda ironic. I was quite resistant towards balkanising the Rolling thread for the longest time and now here I am splitting hairs about differences within genres from one country. The thing is tho, most of these threads start almost organically, and while a Rolling SA thread would be very nice in principle, we already have this thread and the BAYC? one doing what they’re doing and/or ready to be repurposed.I do definitely want to start a dedicated thread for “eMcimbini” tho lol!(and in case this was somehow misunderstood, afaic “Friends With Benefits” feels right at home on this here Sun-El thread)
― breastcrawl, Monday, 17 February 2020 21:21 (four years ago) link
Let’s start an emcimbini thread, then! We can put all of the Kabza stuff in there AND lobby for it as song of the year in time for the next poll. Win win! Lol

It's going to take a lot to best an album as incredible and emotionally uplifting as Africa to the World. This track is lovely, and if the rest of the album is as good as this but not better I'll still be happy. He has a specific vibe that is just romantic and beautiful and does such an amazing job of giving me an "escape" and Uhuru still has that in spades.

I agree that it’s not as good as a “Sonini” or “Ntaba ezikude” (leaving “Akanamali” out of this, because hors catégorie), but I still think it’s gorgeous. What puts this song over the top for me is Azana’s vocal - so earnest and affecting. She seems to be new, she has no footprint (voicetrail?) on Spotify at all, but her Twitter tells me she has an album out in May; the snippets suggest a slightly more jazzy vibe than for instance Simmy. But maybe y’all wanted Simmy on this?

I will def revisit that when the Sun-El album drops (iirc I wasn't as anti as others). Speaking of, are we looking at albums *this summer* from: Sun-El, Azana, Burna Boy, and WizKid?! Should Simmy be on that list too?

New Heavy K, “second single”** from a new project that is promised for 31 July. It sounds great and I'm keeping my fingers crossed:

(**meanwhile previous single “Tsamaya” with Professor has disappeared from Spotify. Don’t know what’s going on between Heavy and Spotify: the tracks he dropped last year never reached it or have disappeared again, and his 2018 album and 2017 classic "Inde" are no longer there either)

― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Friday, 17 July 2020 17:31 (three years ago) link
"Egoli" def had that vibe. My possibly off-base first impression is that she followed the Samthing template and the first half is less upbeat and dancey (the "moodiness") and things pick up and bliss out in the second (?)

Gorgeous album, nothing much else to say rn, just gorgeous. Azana is so wonderful and commanding throughout.I did notice that Claudio x Kenza produced the majority of the tracks, including “Egoli” and “Bafazi”, while Sun-El is credited for just four. From this I conclude that Sun-El is not just an incredible producer with a great eye for talent but is probably a fantastic mentor as well.

Singer S-Tone has an album out on Sun-El’s label, after his EP last year. Almost all the tracks are produced by Claudio and/or Kenza, there’s only one track with Sun-El himself (not my immediate favourite). There’s some amapiano-leaning tracks as well, a first in EL World, I think. Take “Kamnandzi”, for example:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lx0ERueZWOI
― No mean feat. DaBaby (breastcrawl), Wednesday, 26 August 2020 16:32 (three years ago) link
I accidentally put a different Vico Da Sporo f. Sandile track on my afropop playlist, and it—"Umuhle Ntombi"—just came on and blew me away:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBb8-C8pIEY
"Luthando" is good too of course (I guess I'll have to find time to check out this...2 hr. long album ffs)
― rob, Thursday, 27 August 2020 17:54 (three years ago) link
“Umuhle Ntombi” is the only other track I had checked out. It’s good, but I prefer “Luthando”. Listening to his other tracks featuring Sandile now: “Buya” is all about the last two minutes when the harmonies really kick in, “Intokazi Yohlobo” is beautiful triphoppy amapiano, that beat is great. “Noyana” from *the other* album Vico da S released this year is also very very nice (wow at that vibraphone break), and “Ndod’mnyama”, Sandile’s Vico-produced solo single, is weirdly mixed but those muffled dubby handclaps remind me of the Peech Boys’ “Don’t Make Me Wait” (speaking of tracks with unexpected rock guitar!) and now I’m very happy.
― No mean feat. DaBaby (breastcrawl), Thursday, 27 August 2020 20:56 (three years ago) link
btw Sandile is also on a track on one of the two (sigh) excellent amapiano albums released this year so far by Future Majestics. It really is a shame how much good music is being released on a weekly basis in South Africa alone.
― No mean feat. DaBaby (breastcrawl), Thursday, 27 August 2020 20:59 (three years ago) link
^^to be clear, this is not meant to be snarky, all this (potentially) great music that is being released within the various SA house genres is a blessing, but it’s quite literally impossible to keep up with
― No mean feat. DaBaby (breastcrawl), Friday, 28 August 2020 16:24 (three years ago) link
Update: just noticed Vico Da Sporo dropped *yet another album* over the weekend, 81 minutes, 17 tracks, 6 of which with Sandile. Needless to say, I haven’t had time to listen to it yet. Where does he find it?

― rob, Tuesday, 17 November 2020 00:14 (three years ago) link
It took me awhile but Simmy's Tugela Fairy LP COMPLETELY got its hooks in me over the past two weeks, making it hard to listen to anything else. There are a few clunkers ('We Were Here' and 'Time After Time') but it's pretty unassailable as a complete album. Much the same as the first one though, it required regular repeat plays to fully sink in... songs like 'Wamuhle' and 'Mabhungu,' which now feel indispensable, were kinda blah on first listen.
― Four Seasons Total Manscaping (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 18 November 2020 19:45 (three years ago) link
That said, I would still say 'Emakhaya' is the best of the bunch. And I'm still loving 'Yaz Abantu'! I feel like both are legit worth pushing as best of the year songs.

btw Sun-El has dropped four more new tracks in the past four days. I now feel confident enough to make the following predictions for the album:• there will be loads of great music on it• and plenty of less than great music as well• 1+1=2: it will be much too long

i will not have enough time to listen to the whole thing before i should sleep so i think i'll just start w/ vol. 1 tonight

have only listened to the first disc so far but it's all gorgeous. only issue is when the album is 80 minutes long, the songs do blend together a bit, so it'll take a while to really wrap my head around it.
he's said the first disc is supposed to be his classic sound (he certainly succeeded there!) and the second disc is him experimenting and broadening his sound so i'm curious how different it will be. i didn't like "chasing the summer" much when i listened to it yesterday though.
― ufo, Friday, 4 December 2020 09:33 (three years ago) link
that virtual concert I mentioned the other day is now on YouTube, and serves as a wonderful good-old-fashioned-album-length introduction to this ambitious endeavour - 46 minutes to the album’s 156:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5aPZ6-I71Yvery nice visuals too, and Tout EL World shows up - with the exception of Claudio x Kenza
― fat ass deep state operative (breastcrawl), Saturday, 5 December 2020 20:23 (three years ago) link
listened to the whole thing yesterday, sorta let it wash over me in the semi-background. most everything sounded good at the very least. hope to discover some stunners when I’ll be playing it loud. (“Lengane” with Simmy is probably one, it’s been around for a while).there was one immediate lovely surprise for me tho, the track I happened to play last of all: the very un-Sun-El-like “No Drama” which has an amapiano-by-way-of-West-Africa feel.
― fat ass deep state operative (breastcrawl), Saturday, 5 December 2020 20:53 (three years ago) link
Listened to the first disc yesterday and the 2nd today. It's a lot more consistent than his last one overall, but the peaks are not nearly as high. There's no Akanamali or Sonini on this, despite the latter's vocalist Simmy guesting on 4(!) tracks. He's digging into a formula more, and while there's some interesting genre dabbling on the 2nd disc and the production remains quite impeccable, a part of me is worried he'll never touch the transcendence of those early singles again.
― octobeard, Saturday, 5 December 2020 22:29 (three years ago) link
Despite the criticisms, there's a pretty amazing record here, especially if you edit it down to one disc, which I might end up doing at some point. Hard not to expect quite a bit of filler on an album 2 hours and 40 minutes long.
― octobeard, Saturday, 5 December 2020 22:30 (three years ago) link
agree that those highest Himalaya highs are not there, but the four lead singles (“Uhuru”, “Ubomi Abumanga”, “Never Never” and “Mandinaya”) have all been amazing, and he could (should) have included “Into Ingawe” as well. if you add the next-best gorgeous new tracks and one or two of those Sun-El instrumentals, plus the Niniola and “No Drama” as bonuses you’d have a magnificent set. it becomes a lot less interesting when he features Sauti Sol, and “Garden”-variety Sun-El is not where it’s at. a Chris Martin collab is probably inevitable tho.
― fat ass deep state operative (breastcrawl), Saturday, 5 December 2020 22:57 (three years ago) link
I feel the second album blues more with the new Simmy. it’s very good, don’t get me wrong, but it’s just a folder with a lot of tracks to me, whereas the first Tugela Fairy was a relatively concise and perfectly balanced out album.

I feel the second album blues more with the new Simmy. it’s very good, don’t get me wrong, but it’s just a folder with a lot of tracks to me
I need to revisit it again, but I feel similarly about hers as I do with Sun-El's - quantity over quality, but with a baseline of quality still present. If you edit it down it's great, but still a step down from her debut. I'm not feeling "blues" per se with these records, they're both still great. I suppose that sentiment only comes off due to the relative comparisons. It's hard for any artist to pull off that untouchable magic they both had a couple years ago a 2nd time in a row, let alone the rest of their careers. I would love to be able to see them perform at some point post-pandemic. I hope they can find broader success outside of Africa/S.A. and that in turn might evolve their sound.
― octobeard, Sunday, 6 December 2020 00:19 (three years ago) link
with the sun-el album i largely agree that while it doesn't quite reach the incredible highs of "akanamali" and "sonini", it's still stronger than i expected for a 160 minute album and even when he's at his most formulaic it's still quite enjoyable because his formula is that good. as breastcrawl mentioned, the strongest tracks are still fantastic. he's kinda the ideal artist to make something this long because it's such pleasant music to have in the background all day. the second disc doesn't really expand his sound as much as i was expecting from his stated intention though.
the simmy album is a little more sprawling than her debut too but it's still quite strong. i still need to spend more time with it but it's not an obvious step down or anything
― ufo, Sunday, 6 December 2020 01:03 (three years ago) link
ymmv but i thought the new simmy album requires LOTS of repeat time to open properly. i wrote it off after three listens then gave it one more go and it just started catching fire.

The Samthing EP is glorious!Upbeat, uptempo amapiano with producer De Mthuda at the helm for most of the tracks. I love Aymos and Daliwonga, but it’s a real treat to hear The Original Vocalist flexing again. Opener “Chomi” had me jumping around in the early morning, “Tilili” is one for the ages (love the interplay with his own voice and co-vocalist MalumNator), first single “Weekend”, which I liked not loved, falls perfectly into place here, and the live medley of previous hits with the Mzansi Youth Choir brings joy to the world.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dox4zTHHoHQSamthing Soweto ft. I'm 3/4 into the Sun-El and I find it ridiculously consistent and pleasant. I guess it's the kind of fuck you artists can give to music nerds obsessed about quality over quantity or the need to produce tracks that can go into ILM polls. South Africa's obsession with Aaliyah's "Try Again" is funny.

The songs are a little bit too squarely in the amapiano norm: not a problem as background to his fantastic voice but lacking the dynamics of his hits. Tilili is the best but the track still moves like a slug you could find at the end of any KDS album.
Yesterday I listened to every Dj Manzo SA / Comado / Mthandazo Gyata song and these guys have true potential.

― Chuck_Tatum, Monday, 8 November 2021 14:32 (two years ago) link
Three quarters of this - the first half and last few songs - are excellent. "Amateki," "Higher," and "Bestfriend" especially. "Amateki" is an immediate mood boost. "Higher" has a spiritual quality to it and is one of my favorite tracks of the year. The third-quarter of the album, which consists of instrumental afro-house tracks "Jozi", "Spiritual Bomb," and "Alone" I wish was about 10 minutes shorter.

Sun-El doesn’t make amapiano (although some remarks and posts here and elsewhere suggest otherwise), but I’m hoping this poll I created might get the amapiano party started again on ILM, because we’re seriously logging… lagging behind. here’s your invitation - I hope you will all participate:drowning in a blissful ocean of log drums and keys: 🎹🎹 amapiano a-z 🎹🎹 an ilm poll

^^^ very good little EP. made me realise how little afro house I’ve been listening to in the past year or so (post-“Osama” perhaps?) - too much piano, too little time basically.I loooove “Nyoni”:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pO3W3YUH6zI
